Bracco Italiano

I would like to thank the show committee for my judging appointment, and the Bracco Italiano exhibitors for entering under me, and accepting my placings with good spirit. Not forgetting my fantastic ring stewards who kept us all ticking along very efficiently.

Puppy D/B, 1

1st Valcor Killer Queen – This very feminine 9 month old chestnut bitch, has an outline that screams Bracco Italiano. Correct scissor bite, big spongy nose, slight stop, kind eye with median line to mid skull. Her ears are set level with the corner of her eyes and of correct length. A lovely deep muzzle without excessive dewlap. She has good forechest, standing on strong, oval boned legs with nice tight feet and elbows. Well ribbed back with short coupling rising over her loin providing her with a lovely topline. Good width of thigh and second thigh for her age over relatively short pasterns. I look forward to seeing this girl mature in the ring.

Junior D/B, 2 (1 abs)

1st Valcor Killer Queen – as above

Open D/B, 5 (2 abs)

1st Bushwacker Dangerous Dave at Canemamans JW – O/W Dog 2 years 6 months. Viewed from the side this young man has a lovely outline and doesn’t disappoint when you get hands on. Correct bite with thin lips and protruding spongy nose. Deep muzzle, chiselling beneath the eye, and soft expression with ears correctly set. Median line running to mid skull and correct divergent planes. A relatively short well muscled neck, with well developed forechest. Strong, straight forelegs with tight elbows to deep chest. Well sprung ribs with short muscular loin. Pleasing tail set over muscular thighs with good bend of stifle. Moderate strong pasterns with tight well arched feet. Moved true and with drive from hind quarters, maintaining top line throughout.

2nd Valcor the Confessor at Canemamans JW – O/W Dog 1 year 10 months. A masculine young man with coat colour mainly white with orange markings. Pleasing masculine head, with good depth of muzzle, kind eye and slight roman nose. Well chiselled beneath the eye, with ears set level. Strong neck without excessive dewlap and broad chest. Good length of upper arm with tight elbows. Well ribbed back, just slightly longer here than 1, with short coupling and slight rise over loin. Muscular hind quarters, used to drive this lad around the ring. Retained topline on the move, covering the ground well.
