Perthshire Canine Club-13th May 2023

Thank you to the committee for their kind invitation to judge at this very well run and enjoyable show, and thanks to The Gordon Setter Club of Scotland for the supported entry.

GORDON SETTER

Puppy (2)

1. Cuthbertson’s Lainnireach Made In Heaven. 10 month old bitch. Balanced throughout with correct head proportions, slightly rounded skull with low ear set, dark eye and kind expression. Long lean neck into a good layback of shoulder and a level topline. She was coordinated on the move and moved out on a good stride.

2. Tait’s Forester’s Northern Lights of Darkmoor. 10 month old dog. Loved his head and expression, with correct proportions, a clearly defined stop, dark eye and large black nose. He stood on strong legs and feet with good bone. He was a little upright in shoulder, but had a level topline and chest deep to brisket. Very clear tan markings. Moved ok but preferred the movement of 1.

Junior (3,1)-as Puppy

Graduate (2,1)

1. Hogg’s Gailiech Ngalyod. 2 ½ year old dog. Lovely head and expression with dark eye, slightly round skull and low ear set. He has a balanced outline, good layback of shoulder, depth to chest and a correct topline. Moved well.

Open (5,1) A lovely class of dogs.

1. Millar, Millar and Scobie’s Yennadon Calvay JW. 4 year old dog. A well balanced dog, loved his clean outline and masculine head. Head of correct proportions with a clearly defined stop and the right amount of width between his ears, depth to muzzle and a large nose. Straight forelegs and well off for bone. Long neck into an excellent layback of shoulder and return of upper arm, deep in chest and well sprung ribs, with a level topline which he maintained on the move. He has matured lovely since I first judged him as a raw baby. He moves on a good free stride. BOB.

2. Millar and Millar’s Yennadon Benriach JW ShCEX. 6 year old dog. Another I have judged before, he is a lovely well proportioned and balanced dog. Love his head proportions with clearly defined stop. Straight forelegs, moderate angulation fore and aft, chest deep, level topline and well bent stifles. He also moved very well around the ring on a free open stride. Just preferred the outline of 1 today.

3. Munro’s Panthera Bad Medicine Dulmaur (Imp Pol).
