I thoroughly enjoyed judging at the=is very friendly show. Thanks to my steward, Stuart McCabe-Bell for being so efficient.

Irish Water Spaniels

1st Sh Ch Stanegate Stage debut (AI). BOB. Such a smart and strongly built girl and typical of the breed with her highly domed head, strong muzzle, well developed nose and excellent angulation. Her ribs are very well sprung and she is deep in brisket. Her coat is dense and tight with lovely crisp ringlets and of a good colour. Such a sound and free mover and has terrific ring presence.

English Springer Spaniels

1st Trimere Taylor Maid at Pinhays. RBOB. Compact and strong, her taut body is deep and has well sprung ribs. Well balanced and very pretty head with good chiselling, good length of neck and very clean over the shoulders. Terrific front and well rounded feet. Moves on an easy stride covering plenty of ground and holding her topline.

2nd Carlyquinn Morwenna. Racy in outlook and well made, pretty head with plenty of work in it, arched neck and well laid shoulders. Just a year old and needing to develop in rib. Lovely mover.

3rd Trixhund Scarlet Ribbons of Pinhays.

1st Daenerys Blood of the Dragon. Very impressive on the stack and doesn’t disappoint on the move. Masculine head, dark eye and gentle expression, neck flows into shoulders, firm topline and excellent quarters. Deep brisket, true in front, compact feet. Has a terrific and very eye catching tail action. Beautifully handled and presented to take BOB and later Reserve BIS. Well done.

Spaniel (Cocker)

1st Manchela Little Tease. Such a merry mover with a lashing tail action and shows a clean pair of heels going away. Great front and length and return of upper arm, big ribs, big bum, well padded feet and good tail set. Loved her head and melting expression, great finish to her muzzle. So square in outline. BPIB and Reserve BPIS. Very well deserved.

2nd Withifloor Touchstone. A tad wider in skull than the winner but has a fabulous eye. Good reach of neck, well angulated front and back, level topline. Good mover carrying tail well.

3rd Alisma Annabelle

1st Eddeswarren Moonlight. She has a beautiful head and appealing quizzical expression. Oval skull, low set ears, clean in back skull and strong neck. Good front with enough width, big ribs, short strong loin and well developed quarters. Plenty of bone and well padded feet. Moved very well indeed carrying her tail level. In the challenge her typical bustling movement took her to BOB.

2nd Federico Brave Heart for Shivani (Imp Rus). Just not co-operating with his handler but is of a happy disposition. Could have moved better.

Post Grad

1st Sandalauga Sherbet Pip with Tisabelli. Compact and square with a good front, clean over shoulders, big ribs, level topline. Moved well.

2nd Eddeswarren Temptress. Nice type but doesn’t have the hind action of 1. Very merry on the move.

3rd Albertean Yuzana

Open Dog

1st Sandlauga Magic Spell for Shivani ShCex. Could be finer in skull but has a good eye shape and low set ears. Good in front, well sprung ribs, strong quarters, well padded feet. Never stopped wagging his tail showing his terrific temperament.

2nd Crimicar Indigo Eclipse. Pleasing head but a tad light in eye. In fabulous coat and condition, moved well but too much lift behind.

Open Bitch

1st Shenjela Starlight. Although I preferred the size of the second placed bitch I thought this one was tidier in front action. Decent head with square finish and a lovely look in her eye. RBOB.

2nd Cachel Pop the Question to Meloneras. Another lovely head and expression, muscular neck, well laid shoulders and strong rear. Thickly padded feet.

1st McCammick’s Golden Retrievers. So very well matched and handled to perfection. Like looking at one dog.

2nd Purves Irish Setters. Moved so very well together.

3rd Hipkiss NSDTRs

Good Citizens

1st T. Taylor Maid at P. ESS. Outmoved them all

2nd When I was Your Man Black Lofty (Imp Pol). Gordon Setter. Built on galloping lines, deep head, good ribs and strong loin, strong wide quarters. Moved well.

3rd Bushwacker Allegra at Marlablue. Bracco
