Judge Christine Morgan

My thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge at this friendly and well run show. The catering was superb and I was made to feel very welcome. My stewards Hilary and Marcia kept everything running smoothly.

1st Nadavin Nusa at Sagata. What a cracking 7 mths old puppy. She has a beautifully chiselled head and well shaped eyes with tight lids and a melting expression. She has a great finish to her muzzle with a lovely big nose. She has flat bone, is well ribbed back and is totally balanced in body. She carries a glossy black silky coat and moves as a Field Spaniel should. I loved her and wish her well for the future. BPIB.

1st Elgert Break Every Rule at Portsoy. This dog is in excellent condition with his taut muscular body and strong muscular hindquarters. Handsome head with chiselling and the required leanness beneath his eyes, slightly raised brows and that wonderful grave expression. He is correctly proportioned, clean in neck and shoulder and has tight round feet. Moves with a long and leisurely stride showing a clean pair of heels as he goes away. BOB.

Junior. This was a lovely class to judge.

1st Sansu Love Actually at Meloak. Very well balanced and short coupled with deep well sprung ribs and well bent stifles. Well off for bone, holds a level topline and carries a thick dense coat. Balanced head with good chiselling and a powerful wide and deep muzzle. She has a lovely eye and expression. Moved on a long stride with great forward reach to take BOB and Gundog Group 2.

2nd Akenscales Beau Baron. A very nice dog who made me smile. In lovely coat and condition and has excellent bone and feet. Moved well.

3rd Rocamoka Written In’t Stars

1st A. Beau Baron

2nd Rocamoka Wind Dreamer at Alihelnix. Doesn’t have the front of the winner and not quite as balanced but has a lovely head and expression and good chiselling. Strong level topline which she held on the move.

3rd Oldtinred Moon River at Rocamoka

1st Princess Cora of Zarkandar. She has a pretty head and dark expressive eyes, strong muzzle and good ear set. Tends to roach her back on the move but carries her tail well.

2nd Akenscales Waterloo. Nice boy but a bit rangy and needs more spring of rib and body. Loved his head. In good coat.

3rd Akenscales Nordic Star

1st Flyenpyg Amy Swinehouse. BPIB. Plenty of bone and substance on this baby and she carries a strong and level topline. Big ribs, big, bum, plenty of dog in front, excellent bone and in good coat. Broad skull, clear stop and expressive eyes. Used her strong tail well on the move. BPIB.

1st Foxrush Jane Ayre. Strongly built with well boned front legs placed well under her body and stands on round compact feet. Balanced head with strong muzzle and well developed nostrils, ears well set, strong neck, well laid shoulders, well sprung ribs and wide powerful quarters. Good otter tail and a lovely hard feel to her coat. Moved steadily. BOB.

2nd Wynfaul Carbon Copy at Beskerby. Doesn’t have the width of muzzle of the winner but has plenty of bone and substance, a strong neck, good width of chest and depth of brisket. Moves OK.

1st Flyenpyg Porky Pig JW Osw. Masculine head, good length of leg to depth of body ratio, level topline, strong bone and wide powerful quarters. Not in his best coat today. Strong mover.

2nd Baskerby Singsong. A lovely headed bitch with a very kind eye and melting expression. She was just looking a bit matronly today. Fabulous tail.
