I would like to thank the Officers and Committee of St Helens & District Canine society for inviting me to judge some of my favourite breeds. I was over the moon to receive such good entries but also to judge such quality dogs added to a super day, but it did make for some very difficult decisions on the day.

Quality young male with correct outline, balanced angulation and moving with excellent reach and drive.

Feminine bitch with correct head and expression. Level topline and strong hindquarters with correct well bent stifles and hocks well let down.

Stunning young bitch who was totally balanced throughout. Beautiful head and expression. Clean muscular neck into correct shoulders and front assembly. Deep chest and ribs well sprung. Holding a level topline at all times. Moving with powerful drive from the rear and long strides from the front.

Pretty bitch with lovely head. Neck of correct length into laid back shoulders and level topline. Strong well angulated hindquarters.

3rd Mrs K Murray’s Shebelta Sweet Talkin’ Guy

What a smart 11 month old male. So well put together and totally balanced throughout. Could not deny him Best Puppy in Breed. On looking in the catalogue after the show realised, he is litter brother to the Puppy class winter. Two very nice pups.

2nd Mrs V J Nelson’s Cadwst Eternal Flame

Well-constructed bitch of good breed type who was just so sound on the move. Correct front assembly, level topline and balanced hindquarters. She really pushed the winner for top honours.

A pleasure to award her Best of Breed and Group 4 later in the day in a quality Pastoral Group

2nd Miss M Roberts’ Magival Love Elvikam JW (Imp Pol)

Not as feminine as 1 but correct size and proportions. Good front assembly, well laid shoulder and firm topline. Deep chest with brisket reaching to close fitting elbows. Free easy action on the move.

Handsome young male with balanced head, clean neck into well laid shoulders and firm topline. He didn’t like the floor but moved well enough to gain second in a strong class.
