Limit (3, 1abs)

Cocker Spaniel

Puppy (2)

Two very different types in this class and a diversity in age.

1st Annaside You Are My Sunshine 6-month golden baby with a very feminine head, lovely dark eye and lowset ears, good reach of neck leading to a nice lay back of shoulder and return of upper arm. She has a gentle sloping top line which she kept well on the move showing a true merry Cocker action.

2nd Dragon From Sunny Rouse (imp UKR) 10-month-old blue roan dog of good size he has a masculine head with a kind expressive eye. Just preferred the front angulation of my winner, good bone and depth of rib move steadily but lacked tail action expected in this breed.

Open (1)

1st Annaside’s Star Turn Mature black bitch with a lovely make and shape Balanced head planes and good length of muzzle, bright expressive eyes and low set ears. Clean through the neck and shoulder with a good length to upper arm deep well sprung ribs under a firm top line which she kept well on the move. Beautifully presented giving her the edge to win Group 1.

Labrador

Junior (3)

1st Exelby One Night Stand 6 month yellow dog with a classic labrador outline. He has fabulous pigmentation, a lovely length to his muzzle and bright well shaped eye. He is well angulated throughout with good bone and tight feet. Plenty of well sprung rib under a firm topline. When he settled he showed a lovely reach and drive BPIB PGroup 1

2nd Flyenpyg Amy Swinehouse tidy black bitch with a lovely make and shape, good eye colour and width to the skull slightly stronger in head than I prefer but she uses her ears really well. Flows through the neck and shoulder keeping her topline well on the move. Broad well muscled thighs showing drive from the rear.

3rd Lillyview Shooting Star

PGrad (6, 2abs)

1st Hurstmeon Hey Look Its Me at Flyenpyg beautifully made dark chocolate bitch, I just loved her true to size outline and strong angulation. She has a kind eye, lovely length to her muzzle. She is strong in the neck with a cracking layback of shoulder and good length of upper arm, deep well sprung ribs under a strong topline leading to well muscled rear. Her movement was a joy to watch, clean and true with power from the rear BOB Group 4

2nd Sudeo Rousayan at Lillyview A larger black bitch who is well put together with a good length of muzzle and width of skull. She has good bone and well sprung rib and plenty of width to her thigh. She is good in profile action but not quite the drive of 1st today.

3rd Scotsdyke Marchbank Boy

Open (2)

1st Flyenpyg Porky Pig JW OSW. Upstanding, animated yellow dog with a cracking head but didn't always use his ears to best advantage, loved his overall make and shape, he has a powerful neck leading to a well made front and deep well sprung ribs. Moved out with power just not as settled when it came to the challenge.

2nd Shaymiloney Schinus Afinmore Larger sized black which was a little too much for me but he is nicely made with a good head and kind expression. He has bone to match his size and a firm topline which he held well on the move.

Golden Retriever

Junior

1st Shebelta Sweet Charlotte A most elegant cream bitch with a beautiful head, the best of pigmentation and a cheeky dark eye. She has lovely angulation front and rear and the correct ratios of body to leg. Moved out with a lovely action just a little immature when it came to the group but one I will watch with interest. BOB

PGrad

1st Shebelta Sweet Charlotte (repeat)

2nd Simon Bassett De Ria Vela for Beinangus JW (imp ESP) Masculine strongly built dog with a kind eye and plenty of backskull, he was shorter in neck than I prefer, shoulders were ok but would benefit from a little more length to upperarm. He has a broad well shaped thigh and presented drive on the move.

2nd Happier De Ria Vela at Beinangus (imp ESP) Another strongly built dog with a masculine head and width of backskull. He has lots of bone and substance with deep well sprung ribs, He showed a good action in profile, not as clean as my winner on the back and too.

She has strength throughout, with good bone. Muscular rear quarters with well turned stifle gave drive on the move. BOB Group 3

Avnsc Gundog

Puppy

1st Kattendale Blac Hawkes Bay at Birniehill (ai) Gordon Setter 10 month bitch with a clean, classy outline, correct length and depth of muzzle, soft brown eye and pleasing width to skull. Lovely reach of neck leading to a well angulated front, enough depth for her age and a topline she kept well on the move, I would just prefer a clearer tan on her legs Best AVNSC Puppy PGroup 2

2nd Kenzduo Deeply Dallas Hungarian Vizsla, a little tall for me but he has a balanced head with a well shaped eye. He was refusing to co-operate with his handler which did spoil his outline a lot of the time but he did use his hocks well on the move.

Open

1st ShCh Elgert Take a Bow with Tayowen JW Field Spaniel. I cannot deny this is a dog I have admired for a number of years, He is a fine specimen of the breed with the most noble of heads and a lively expression. I love his shape and substance and when he moves he shows the true unhurried stride required of the breed. When it came to the group the cocker just had the edge in coat but I could not deny him Best AVNSC and Group 2

2nd Kiegame Quintessence at Benrae GSP bitch presenting a clean well shaped outline, good length of muzzle with the correct amount of lip and a grave eye. She flowed through the neck and shoulder keeping her topline well, she showed a lovely front reach and profile action.
