Many thanks to the officers and committee for inviting me to judge the Utility group and the various breeds below, with the added bonus of being given the Bulldog classes in the week preceding the show, I thoroughly enjoyed my day. Also many thanks to my stewards for looking after me in the ring. I was very fortunate to have some lovely exhibits to judge, some of the decisions I had to make were really close calls and I thought the adult utility group was full of excellent examples of their respective breeds. It’s always nice to put a dog through that goes on to do well under the BIS judge, so it was really pleasing to hear my puppy group winner, the Dalmatian, went on to win BPIS!!! Lastly thank you to all those that entered their dogs to be judged by me, it was an honour to judge every dog, and you all took my decisions with good grace.

Bulldog

Class 57 - Junior (2/1)

1st - Berriman’s - Asharlo Million Dollar Baby - Lovely well put together young bitch, white with red markings, super head qualities, good width to muzzle with a strong under jaw and regular tidy mouth, ears of good size and shape and set well, strong bone for her size, good fore chest, well sprung rib, sort coupled, good tail well set and strong quarters, sound typical movement once she settled. Stood alone today but happy to award her BOB, only just missing out in the group.

Dalmatian

Class 41 - Junior (5/0)

1st - Davies & Richards - Hafwenna King John - 8 months old dog, with even liver spotting, Loved this young dogs overall proportions, he looked a picture stacked and didn’t disappoint on the move, very pleasing masculine clean head, correct bite, amber eye, ears of good shape and size set well, straight front, neat feet, good reach of neck into correct shoulder, great rib, strong loins, correct top line, tail set correct and carried well, strong quarters, moved with an easy free flowing gate both coming and going. RBOB/BP (Went on to win the Puppy group and BPIS!!)

2nd - Bradley’s - Hafwenna Valyria - 10 months old bitch, Smaller in stature feminine bitch, with regular black spotting, beautifully made throughout, clean headed, correct bite, dark eyes, ears of good size and shape set well, long elegant neck, into correct shoulder, straight front and neat feet, correct top line, well ribbed for her age, strong loins, correct tail and strong quarters, moved well when she settled, on the day I thought the dog just had the edge on maturity, but certainly one to watch.

3rd - Thorne’s - Cariadymor Shingehill Cove of Castletop.

Class 42 - PG (3/2)

1st - Willamson’s - Shydally Ultimate Edition JW - 20 months, larger type dog, black spotted with slightly heavier marked dark ears, he’s got good overall proportions, with everything mostly correct, correct bite, eye could be slightly darker, clean masculine head, long strong neck, straight front, correct top line, good spring of rib, strong loins, powerful well angled quarters, bit erratic on the move, but he can move well when he puts his mind to it.

Class 43 Open (5/2)

1st - Willamson & Howard’s - Decoda’s Toffee Apple - Just under 2 years old bitch, even liver spotting, what a stunner she is, with beautiful elegant flowing body lines, lovely amber eye colour and pigments, clean headed, correct bite, ears of correct size and shape carried well, long neck into correct shoulder, straight front, neat feet, well ribbed, strong loins, correct top line and tail set, carried her tail perfectly, good strong quarters with correct angles, moved with a super free flowing gate, covering the ground with ease, happy to award her BOB.

2nd - Blissett’s - Kystuno Warners King - 4 year old mature dog, Heavily black spotted, strongly built male, without coarseness, nice head qualities, correct bite, ears of good shape and size, he is well put together, straight front, correct top line, held his tail well on the move, ha has a lovely easy free flowing gate.

3rd - Davies and Richards - Hafwenna Who Knew.

Tibetan terrier

Class 47 - Junior (1/0)

1st - Hedger and Bourne’s - Araki Devils Gold at Evemylyn - Young cream coloured dog yet to develop his finished coat, correct bite, dark well placed eye, good reach of neck, into good lay of shoulder, straight front, correct top line and carried his tail well, good rear angles, hard work for his handler today but he can move well, when he chooses too. RBOB.

Class 48 - PG (2/1)

1st - Kitcher’s- Javeys Sabastian - 3 year old male, cream coat, level bite, dark eye, straight front, well ribbed, top line raised slightly over loins, moved straight but ideally would prefer to see more rear drive.

Class 49 - Open (2/1)

1st - Hadlow’s - Khyibrangs Regal Rock at Quidditch - 4 year old, Black with white bib bitch, Quality shone out of this girl, best coat of the day, correct bite, feminine head qualities, good reach of neck into well placed shoulder, straight front, nicely ribbed, short strong loin, carried her tail well, well bent stifles, and she puts it altogether on the move with good reach and drive. BOB.

Lhasa Apso

Class 50 - Junior (4/3)

1st - Adam-Slomkowski’s - Skylax Dare to Believe JW - Cream & silver dog, young lad getting used to the show ring, head maturing nicely, reverse scissor bite, dark eyes, nice black nose with open nostrils, good front, top line level, well ribbed for his age, moved parallel but to be picky would prefer more rear drive. RBOB

Class 51 - PG - (2,0)

1st - Langford’s - Farrenmills Summer moon over Quaytown - Slate grey 5 year old dog, super condition both in coat and body, masculine head without coarseness, correct bite lovely regular teeth, black open nose, dark eyes, good reach of neck into well laid shoulder, straight front, level top line, tail set and carried well, well bent stifles and strong quarters, Straight and true free jaunty movement, BOB.

2nd - Adam-Slomkowski’s - Kentwone Derek Jewel by Skylax - Cream with dark points dog, lovely coat and conditioning, correct bite, dark nose and eyes, not quite the head qualities as my 1st, good neck into well laid shoulder, straight front, well ribbed, good rear angles, moved well both ways.

Class 51 - Open (2/1)

1st - Langford’s - Quaytown Snowdrop, 5 year old bitch, in a stunning cream coat, correct bite, dark eye, with enough reach of neck, well laid shoulder, straight front, level top line, tail set and carried well, good rear angles, unfortunately she was a bit erratic on the move today, looked like she could do it but didn’t really want to, if she had she may have got more!

Tibetan Spaniel

Class 44 (1/1) Class 45 (3/3) Class 46 (1/1) Thank you for the entries unfortunately clashed with a breed club show today all absent.

1st - Lawton’s - Sarina Love Me Tender with Abbeydale - Black Standard poodle dog, beautifully presented and in top condition, Lovely chiselled head, nice dark pigments, dark eyes, correct strong teeth and bite, good reach of neck, straight front, tidy feet, correct top line, carried his tail well, strong rear with correct angles, moved with drive.

2nd - Silsbury’s - J’Adoremy Mr Red’n stare - Cream with sable markings Shih Tzu dog, correct bite, dark pigments and dark eyes, handsome lad, ears set well, good length of neck, well laid shoulder, correct front, ribs well sprung and carried back, tail set and carried well, good rear angles, can move well but would prefer a little more zest.

3rd - Silsbury's - J’Adoremy Mr Red Revenge Shih Tzu.

Class 37 - PG (3/2)

1st - Silsbury's - J’Adoremy Red Bounty, red and white Shih Tzu dog, super head and expression, lovely dark pigments, correct bite, dark well placed eyes, ears set well, good reach of neck, correct shoulder and front, well ribbed, level top line, correct tail set carried well, strong well muscled quarters, moved with drive and style and never stopped showing BAVNSC.

Class 38 - Open (5/1)

1st - Silsbury’s - Juhuas Expecto Patronum for J’Adoremy - Cream with darker mask, Shih Tzu dog, super lustre to his coat, dark pigments, dark eyes, correct bite warm expression, good reach of neck, well laid shoulder, level top line, tail carried and set well strong rear, moved well, RBAVNSC.

2nd - Davies - Millhanger Kemboy - Kooikerhondje dog, beautifully presented and in top condition, Well balanced in silhouette, lovely head qualities, with clean muzzle deep dark brown eyes, ears of good size and shape, well laid shoulder, straight front, neat feet, good depth of brisket, correct top line and tail set, strong quarters, covered the ground with free flowing easy gate.

3rd - Bedwell’s - Vicmars Smart Fella (Std Poodle).

1st - Barlow’s - Mistines Butybes Denver Milagro Suenaengrand (IMP LTU) - Std Xoloitzcuintle 7 months old male, nothing to hide on this breed, super head and expression, correct bite, ears of good shape and size carried well, long neck into well laid shoulder, straight front, tidy feet, correct top line & tail set correct, strong well muscled quarters, covered the ground with free flowing graceful gate. BAVIBR.

Class 40 - Open (2/1)

1st - Barlow’s - Chelsea Mia at Suenaengrand (Imp RUS) - Std Xoloitzcuintle 2 year old bitch, elegant body type, feminine head, good reach of neck into well laid shoulder, straight front, neat feet, deep forechest, level top line, tail set on well, good angles to rear, she could clearly move well if she wanted to, but not at all happy in the hall today.
