Northwich & District Canine Society

Thank you to the society for the invitation to judge at your lovely show. I can see myself returning as an exhibitor in future. Quite a lot of absentees on the day, which I wasn’t too surprised at with it being the same day as Pastoral breeds at Border Union. Thank you to all who entered their dogs for me today.

Border Collie

Puppy (2,0)

1st Large’s Wizaland Raspberry Ripple – 8m female, very feminine puppy. Nice outline and well balanced. Good body for age, balanced angulation. Moved soundly in all directions. Lovely temperament nicely handled and presented. RBOB, BP & PG2

2nd Bresford’s Blackgold Little Elf – 10m female, larger than 1 all through and longer cast. She was really enjoying her first show, so it did make it difficult to assess, but from what I could see was a sound puppy. I hope her owner enjoyed their first show as much and that they continue with them going forward.

Junior (1,0)

1st Large’s Wizaland Raspberry Ripple – as per puppy

Post Graduate (2,0)

1st Large’s Wizaland My Jeztic Socks – 19m female, out of coat but still a lot to like. Made it that there was nothing to hide, too. Lovely head type and proportions, correct outline, good leg length, balanced angulation. Sound movement in all directions, solid topline. BOB and group 2.

2nd Hodson’s Miraje Queen of the North – 2 ½ yr female. She is a nice shape and has sound movement. Unfortunately, she lacks in confidence and wouldn’t let me examine her thoroughly. I understand she has had a break from showing and has a new handler, would benefit from confidence building before coming back into the show ring.

Open (4,2)

Two very different dogs with different virtues here.

1st Garside & Davies’ Harbecca Noahs Gift – felt this exhibit was in better body condition and had the more typical movement of the breed. I’d prefer a bit more length of leg and more typical expression in head.

2nd Collins’ Blackgold Midsummer Dream – decent head and looked more typical than 1. Good shape. Not as agile on the move as 1 and topline could be better.

Collie (Rough)

Puppy – no entries

Junior (1,1)

Post Graduate (3,1)

1st Boyle’s Monsolana Aspire To Inspire Over Barrenclough (Imp Rus) – very large coated male which does detract a little. I thought he had the stronger rear movement out of the 2. Underneath that huge coat, is a good-sized dog of a decent shape.

2nd Garside & Davies’ Jessopdays Its Now Or Never – 2 yr female, feminine all through. I thought in profile this dog looked quite typical but didn’t look the strongest in rear going away. Correct movement in front. Nice outline.

Open (3,0)

1st Allsop’s Aqualita It’s a Miracle – nearly 4 yr old nice male. Decent head, with flat skull that was in overall proportion to his size. Strong under jaw. Good length of neck into well angulated shoulders. Rear angulation balanced. Moved well. BOB and group 3.

2nd Dix’s Garside & Davies’ Demelewis Gang Leader – smaller male with a pleasing outline. Sound mover in all directions, I preferred the head of 1 today.

Samoyed

Puppy (1,0)

1st Cornwell’s Jewel Child of Joy Orleansnow (Imp Cze) – 10m female, larger sized but balanced. Good spring of rib, excellent pigment and in good coat. Sound movement in all directions, just needs to firm up in front which will come with time. Super temperament. BP, BOB and PG4.

Open (1,0)

1st Venton’s Little Red-Cap Du Chemin Des Korrigans (Imp Fra) – 8 yr female who still is a super mover. Nicely put together, good size. She has good body proportions; balanced angles front and rear which means she was sound in all directions. BOB

Shetland Sheepdog

Puppy (2,1)

1st Sandham’s Balidorn Starlight – loved this 6m girl at her first show. Very pretty, correct skull and stop. Balanced angulation. Confident and sound on the move. BP and PG3, missing out on higher places on maturity at this point.

Junior – no entries

Post Graduate (1,0)

1st Rosslyn’s Balidorn Golden Amber – 4 yr female. Well laid shoulders, good muscle tone. Lacking a bit in coat at the moment. Feminine all through. Pleasing in outline. She has nicely balanced angles, which meant she was sound in all directions. BOB and Group 4.

Open – no entries

AVNSC Pastoral

Puppy (2,0)

1st Davenport’s Vegas V D Vaardekenshoeve (Imp Bel) – 10m Malinois. I really liked this boy a lot, he does lack a bit of confidence, I’m sure with more ring experience and confidence building he will get there. He has an excellent outline, typical balanced head, moderate neck, nicely angulated in front and rear which gives him super movement. Brisk, agile and moderate action. BP and puppy group 1.

2nd Legatts Dakota At Knytshall – 11m Buhund. Looking slightly off square in outline at the moment and up to size. Decent angulation, sound front and profile action but thought he was a bit untidy going away.

Junior (7,0)

A lovely class.

1st Cowley’s Kashbeluli There We Are Then – 15m Puli male of good overall breed type. Correct square outline with neck blending into body. Very masculine, his head and overall build are in proportion to his size. Good proportion of skull to muzzle. Moderate angulation to front and rear means he is a sound, steady mover in all directions. Excellent pigment all through and his coat is coming on well. RBNSC.

2nd Irvine’s Blackcombe Bodil At Tapui (Imp Nor) – 17m Buhund female. Close up to 1st here, a lot to like. Square outline, very feminine all through with good substance. Nicely angulated front with balanced rear. Excels on the move, showing excellent reach and drive. Really liked her too.

Post Graduate (3,0)

1st Ledgar’s Woodhenge Star Attraction With Jasrolyn - Welsh Corgi (Pembroke) VHC in junior and I felt moved better in this class. She has the typical foxy head. Elbows close fitting to body, well bent stifle. Sound mover.

2nd Edwards’ Pajkos Fine ‘N’ Dandy (Imp) - decent Pumi with excellent pigment, good head proportions and correct ear set. Sound mover. A little long in body and high in hock.

Open (4, 1)

1st Wesson’s Csulli Christmas Candy – 4 yr old female Pumi. She is of a very nice type, displaying correct square outline. She has excellent head proportions and ear placement. Super pigment all through. Moderate angulation which gives the correct moderate movement you look for in the breed, with the right amount of reach and drive. She is very sound, solid topline. Correct coat presentation. BNSC and group 1.

2nd Irvine’s Blackcombe Bodil At Tapui (Imp Nor) – as per 2nd junior
