Herts and Essex Border Canine Society Premier Open Show – 19 March 2023 – Judge: Abbi Adair (Darebear)

AVNSC Working P (3 3) 1. Robb Icewolf Fendi L’ Aquarossa, Alaskan Malamute, 7 month old, stunning bitch with good bone; a beautiful feminine head, good ear set and dark, almond shaped eyes. Strong neck leading on to her slightly sloping back towards the croup, with correct tail set which was carried over her back when on the move. Her movement was free and easy, with good drive, and gave the impression she could have gone on all day. Her beautiful thick coat was well-presented and I was pleased to award her BNSCWP, WPG1. 2. Robb Icewolf Gucci Bloom, Alaskan Malamute, 7 month old bitch, and litter sister to 1. Again, another beautiful puppy from this kennel, very well presented. Not quite as developed as 1 or as settled on the move, but this did not detract from her balanced outline, correct angulation and drive when she finally settled around the ring. 3. Wells, Labanc-Volgyi Happy Feet Two TAF, Bernese Mountain Dog, 6 month old bitch

AVNSC Working SY (2 2) 1. Eagle Eaglehall Hot Gossip, Dogue De Bordeaux, 13 month old bitch, with large, broad skull, with pronounced stop, and oval eyes set wide apart. Strong, muscular neck with well-defined dewlap. Well laid shoulders with strong legs and broad chest, and good tail length reaching the hocks. 2. Symonds Brianna Marie Dream Of Beauty At Morrioghain (Imp SVK), Mastiff, 15 month old bitch, with slightly arched neck heading on to a broad and deep body. Wide, deep chest, and topline level and held on the move.

AVNSC Working L (3 3) 1. Flaxman Derebern Catch The Sun, Bernese Mountain Dog, 3 year old bitch, giving the appearance of a strong and sturdy working dog with good bone. Pretty and feminine head with a well-defined stop, and beautiful dark brown, almond shaped eyes. Strong, muscular neck leading on to a compact body, broach chest, well ribbed with strong loins. Correct length of tail, and her stride reached well out in front. Pleased to award her BNSCW, and WG3. 2. Hughes Casia T Giro D’Italia To Ukluk, Alaskan Malamute, 4 year old dog, heavily boned with a broad head, almond shaped eyes. Strong neck set on a powerful body, with large, compact feet. Today he appeared a little unsettled on the move. 3. Eagle Eaglehall Hot Gossip, Dogue De Bordeaux, 13 month old bitch

AVNSC Working O (2 2) 1. Smith Oakholme Imperial Wizard, Portuguese Water Dog, 4 year old dog, impressive, well-balanced appearance and handled well. Masculine head with well-defined occiput, and with dark brown, round eyes and scissor bite. Strongly muscled neck, chest wide and deep. Short, strong loin with moderate tuck-up. Coat was very well presented, and unfortunately in the challenge did not move as well as during his class but pleased to award him RBNSCW. 2. Flaxman Glanzberg See The Sun, Bernese Mountain Dog, 7 year old bitch whose balanced and powerful stride belied her age and is a credit to her owner. Beautiful feminine head with dark brown, almond-shaped eyes and a melting expression. Slightly longer cast body than I prefer, but clearly a well-boned girl with good muscle tone, capable of a day’s work.

Bouvier Des Flandres SY (1 0)

Bouvier Des Flandres O (1 1) 1. Simmons & Pierpoint Chepam Queen of Swords, 2 year old bitch, with a compact, broad body, which was well boned and muscled. Feminine head with dark, alert and expressive eyes, and scissor bite. Strong, well-muscled neck leading on to a short, deep and broad body. Forelegs straight and strong, elbows well set into body. Moderate angulation, and well-muscled hindquarters which supported powerful, but free and easy movement. BOB.

Boxer P (2 2) 1. Cook Lobeaubox Lena Marelli, 8 month old bitch, with a very pretty, feminine head with broad muzzle, distinct stop, dark brown eyes with ears set wide apart. Strong muscular neck, with square body, short back and loin. Very energetic on the move with good drive, BPIB. 2. Peck & Ames Winuwuk Line Of Duty For Enesha, 10 month old dog, masculine head developing well, with dark brown eyes and moderate sized ears set wide apart. Strong, muscular neck, square body, forelegs straight and parallel, well-muscled hindquarters. Close decision but preferred movement of 1 today.

Boxer SY (2 0)

Boxer L (1 1) 1. Gibb Conchobar Sirris Of The Sun Miniwonder, 4 year old bitch, with well-developed muscle, and moved with free stride, covering the ground well. Feminine head with broad muzzle, distinct stop and dark brown eyes. RBOB.

Boxer O (4 4) 1. Kuech Boese Jiggerlardo JW, 19 month old dog, with a masculine head with broad muzzle, distinct stop, dark brown eyes with correct ear set. Gave overall impression of nobility, strong boned and well-developed muscle throughout. His strong muscular neck led on to his square body with short back and loin. Fantastic drive as he powered around the ring, pleased to award him BOB and WG4. 2. Peck Manic Keep It Real For Enesha, 6 year old dog, with a strong neck, excellent muscle, deep chest reaching to elbows, with well-arched ribs. Movement not as powerful in drive as 1 today. 3. Harvey Harvlin Nordic Mystery

Bullmastiff SY (3 3) 1. Eagle Mons Claudius Gone With The Wind (IMP CRO) NAF TAF, 22 month old bitch, with alert expression. Large, square but feminine head, pronounced stop and short muzzle with dark, medium sized eyes. Moderate length muscular neck, wide and deep chest. Powerful and balanced movement, RBOB. 2. Murphy Nehrain Majestic Woody Of Wembholt, 11 month old dog, with developing masculine head, short muzzle and pronounced stop, with dark eyes. Back short and straight with topline held on the move. Unfortunately, forelegs not standing straight today. BPIB. 3. Murphy Finchwell Calista Wembholt

Bullmastiff O (2 2) 1. Todd & Smith Alonzobar Red Sky For Delarhia, 2 year old dog, with an alert expression, a stunning masculine head with pronounced stop and short muzzle with dark eyes. Very muscular neck led on to a short back, deep chest and brisket. Strong, straight forelegs, great bone and set wide apart with strong pasterns. Hindquarters muscular with well-developed second thighs with powerful movement and straight topline held on the move. BOB. 2. Porter & Bowser Jessiemai Front Page News At Araucaria, 6 year old dog, masculine head and strong neck. Straight forelimbs, and well-muscled hind quarters, moving with power and great enthusiasm, however today his topline was a little soft.

Leonberger SY (2 2) 1. Crooks Alfross Tulabo Aberyscir, 9 month old dog developing well, shown and presented well with beautiful double coat, with his mane developing on neck and chest. Masculine head with no wrinkles, medium stop and muzzle of correct proportions. Dark brown oval-shaped eyes with kind expression, and medium, pendant shaped ears well set. Strong neck, broad chest, level topline and a correct moderately sloping croup. His shoulders are well laid with elbows close fitting, and hindquarters parallel and muscle developing well for his age. At times a little unsettled on the move, but he covered the ground well with good front reach and drive from behind. BOB, BPIB and happy to aware him WPG4. 2. Duffield Anjaleo Gob Stopper, 14 month old dog, another male with a fantastic double coat shown in great condition, with mane developing well. Masculine head, with a strong neck and broach chest. Unfortunately, forelimbs were not standing straight today.

Rottweiler SY (2 2) 1. Peacock Hausmason Barby Rio, 9 month old bitch, pretty feminine head with dark brown almond shaped eyes, and correct ear set. Correct dentition and scissor bite. Strong neck, deep chest with good spring of rib. Good rear angulation supported her driving around the ring, supporting a level topline at all times. RBOB, BPIB. 2. Bolton Hausmason Byron Bay, 9 month old dog, litter brother to 1 and little between them. Masculine head developing well, with correct dentition and scissor bite. Muscle developing well, shoulders well laid back and elbows well let down. Very exuberant on the move and a little unsettled in the ring today.

Rottweiler O (1 1) 1. Miliauskaite LTU Ch. Bella Is Rojaus Slenio (IMP LTU) 5 year old bitch, giving the appearance of strength; Feminine head with dark almond shaped eyes, ears set high and wide apart. Strong neck let to well laid back shoulders. Broad and deep chest, well spring ribs, short loin. Level topline held on the move, with good stride covering the ground well. BOB.

Russian Black Terrier SY (2 1) 1. Rigby Zariza Nochi Tara’s Sarja For Omiant (IMP DEU), 10 month old bitch, with beautiful feminine head piece, with alert expression. Shown in super condition, and although clearly enjoying her day out, settled enough for me to observe powerful reach and drive. BPIB, WPG3.

Russian Black Terrier O (5 2) 1. Rigby Ya Namaste Tara’s Sarja For Omiant (IMP DEU) Lux/Aut JCH, 19 month old dog, who impressed me from the moment he entered the ring. He is well proportioned, and strongly built with substantial bone. His head is masculine, with dark brown, oval shaped eyes, and perfect scissor bite. His muscular neck is complemented by a muscular and level back, and his chest is deep with well-sprung ribs. Forelegs are straight and parallel, thighs are muscular, with well bent stifles. Whilst impressive in profile, his movement did not disappoint. He covered the ground well, demonstrating good front reach and impressive rear drive which led to perfect footfall. I was very happy to award him BOB, WG1 and was thrilled to hear he was awarded RBIS. 2. Garrood Ukusa Dobrynya, 4 year old dog who is also well proportioned with strong bone. Masculine head, with typical expression, scissor bite and correct dentition. Well-muscled, with straight and parallel legs, and level topline held on the move. Unfortunately he didn’t move as enthusiastically as 1 today. RBOB.

Siberian Husky P (3 3) 1. Kendall Shyllar Riding A Dream Of Kendarctic, 8 month old bitch, developing well with pretty, feminine head, alert expression and well-set ears. Her legs are straight and parallel, and held her topline on the move, moving with great drive. BPIB and WPG2. 2. Kendall Shyllar Fizzy Feet of Kendarctic, 8 month old bitch, litter sister to 1, slightly larger but with many of the same positive attributes. Not as settled on the move today as 1 but suspect these two could change places. 3. Leich, Leich & Koops Forstal’s Pingo.

Siberian Husky SY (4 2) 1. Kendall Arctictrail North Of Denali For Kenarctic, 15 month old dog, masculine head developing well. Well-muscled, straight and parallel legs, with good reach and drive on the move showing correct footfall. 2. Simmons Forstal’s Jetska At Aurorasdream, 19 month old bitch, pretty feminine head, scissor bite, displaying overall balance and moved with drive.

Siberian Husky L (3 3) 1. Leich, Leich & Koops Forstal’s Drifter, 20 month old dog, well-muscled which supported enthusiastic and effortless driving movement around the ring, with correct footfall. Clearly capable of carrying out a day’s work. RBOB. 2. Samuels Shimani Love For Life, 2 year old dog, shown in beautiful condition with fantastic coat, masculine head with alert expression. Preferred the rear angulation of 1. 3. Simmons Forstal’s Snow At Aurorasdream

Siberian Husky O (5 4) 1. Ferretti Arcticskies Whiskey Sour For Lyrvid, 3 year old bitch, with an alert but friendly expression. Beautiful feminine, well-proportioned head with almond shaped eyes and scissor bite. Her body is strong with a level top line, deep chest and well-muscled loin. Forelegs parallel and straight with elbows close to her body; thighs well-muscled with stifles well-bent. Her movement appeared effortless, light on her feet with good reach and drive. Coat shown in great condition, BOB. 2. Johns Azgard Kastella For Alepenkye, 3 year old bitch, very feminine, pretty head with well-set ears, alert expression and moved with drive and good reach. Slightly out of coat today. 3. Kendall Kentwone Passion Fruit With Kendarctic

Bailey Akna Tumnus **, Canadian Eskimo Dog, 5 year old dog, whose presence and appearance spoke of a dog built for hard work. Masculine head with intelligent, dark eyes; a perfect scissor bite with close-fitting lips. His neck is thick and well-muscled, he has well laid back broad shoulders, and a deep chest. His legs are straight with powerful, well-muscled thighs and a good turn of stifle, which supported powerful movement. 3. Flaxman Derebern Catch The Sun, Bernese Mountain Dog. 4. AV Working V (6 4) 1. Simmons Ch. Chepham Woronora ShCM, Bouvier Des Flandres, 7 year old bitch with feminine and pretty head piece, dark and alert eyes with scissor bite. She has a strong, well-muscled neck leading on to a short and broad body. Legs straight and elbows well set into her body. Correct angulation, and well-muscled hindquarters which supported powerful, but free and easy movement. 2. Mayhew Sandbears More Than Class, Newfoundland, 8 year old dog, with masculine, broad head with short, square muzzle. Strong neck and legs straight, very well-muscled and clearly capable of doing a day’s work. Well ribbed, broad back and level topline held on the move. Coat shown in good condition. 3. Flaxman Glanzberg See The Sun, Bernese Mountain Dog, 7 year old bitch

Treasure Pavoskas Galaksitti, Finnish Lapphund, 6 month old dog developing well, masculine head with dark brown, oval shaped eyes, ears well set apart, and perfect scissor bite. Strong neck and back with moderate spring of rib and short loin. Sufficient bone, muscle developing well. Profuse coat and effortless movement around the ring. 2. Mann Dixierose Thatz Ma Girl, Samoyed, 10 month old bitch, shown in fantastic coat condition. Feminine, pretty head, almond shaped eyes with an alert expression and scissor bite. Strong neck, straight legs, broad back and strong loin. A little unsettled in the ring today.

AV Pastoral SY (7 4) 1. Ingram Mosardi Don’t Stop, Shetland Sheepdog, 16 month old dog, developing well, with correct head proportions, almond shaped eyes with an alert expression. Shown in fantastic coat condition. Shoulders well laid back, good spring of rib, deep chest, level back and gradual slope of croupe. Moved with drive and perfect footfall. 2. Hansell Taronakits It’s Kalyra At Samarind, Samoyed, 14 month old bitch, another shown in great coat condition. Pretty, feminine head with almond shaped eyes and alert expression and scissor bite. Strong neck, back and loin, however not moving her best today. 3. Mann Dixierose Thatz Ma Girl, Samoyed

AV Pastoral L (7 4) 1. Rutterford Kelgrove Midsummer Blue At Stormhead, Shetland Sheepdog, 4 year old bitch, with stunning headpiece of correct proportions and alert expression. Coat shown in great condition. Good spring of rib, deep chest and level back, moved with effortless drive around the ring. 2. Ingram Mosardi Forget Me Not, Shetland Sheepdog, 3 year old bitch, feminine head with alert expression, scissor bite. Not in the best of coats today, moved with drive.. 3. Colling, Harvey & Harvey Wicani Inviking Spirit, Rough Collie.

AV Pastoral O (3 1) 1. Colman-Smith Kyleburn Sibylia At Shelridge, Shetland Sheepdog, 5 year old bitch, with a stunning, feminine head and beautiful dark, almond shaped eyes with alert expression. Despite standing alone today, she deserved her placing. Her coat was in beautiful condition, shoulders well laid back with a good spring of rib and deep chest. Her movement was effortless, smooth and graceful with great drive from behind.

JH 6 - 11 (0)

JH 12 – 16 (5 4) 1. Rosie Moss (15), Confident young handler who was gentle with the dog throughout, remembering to smile at all times. Very nice straight lines and sharp turns, moved with the dog very well. A handler with much potential and one to watch. 2. Isabelle Collier (15), Another budding young handler who talked to her dog throughout, with positive turns on the T, however, needs to take more notice of the position of the judge at all times. 3. Kaitlyn Collier (13)

AH 17+ (11 3) 1. Tegan Collier, displayed confidence yet was relaxed without overdoing it, watching the judge at all times, and did all that was asked. Perfect T, with an obvious rapport between handler and dog. 2. Ceri McEwan. Nice straight lines and sharp turns, however need to take more notice of the judges position at all times. Practice makes perfect! 3. Melissa Davis

AV Champion Stakes (18 13) 1. Cross Ch Loggeta Trouble In Texas, Dachshund (Long-Haired), 3 year old dog, who impressed me as soon as he stepped into the ring. His head has correct proportions and ear set, with dark brown, almond-shaped eyes with a bold, intelligent and almost cheeky expression. Perfect scissor bite and correct dentition. He has a compact, well-muscled body, and his loin is short and strong. His movement is free-flowing, with a long stride and impressive drive. Coat shown in excellent condition. 2. Ch. Tollelkin Caife Americano SGWC, Retriever (Nova Scotia Duck Tolling), 3 year old dog, with a masculine head piece, almond-shaped eyes with a friendly and alert expression. He has a correct scissor bite. His neck is well muscled, he is deep chested with well sprung ribs. His back is short, with a muscular and strong loin. His elbows fit closely to his body, with straight legs and strong pasterns. Stifles well-bent and hocks well let down. His movement had good reach and strong rear drive, coat shown in good condition. 3. IR CH. Lindcoly Mischief Maker, German Spitz (Mittel).
