My sincere thanks to the committee for bestowing the privilege of my first all-breed open show Best in Show Appointment. I had a delightful entry and some top-quality dogs to go over. A super venue.

Best in Show – 7 very nice dogs to judge, all worthy of their placings.

Casentieri, Ms CJ & Mr T F. The Impossible Girl of Alchez (Basenji)

Caught my eye – a smart tri bitch; lovely head leading in to a nice length of neck and placed shoulders, nicely angulated in the rear with plenty of drive- covering plenty of ground. Nothing over done here.

McDonald, Miss M. Lamancha Obsidan Flame (Golden Retriever)

Lovely in profile, nicely angulated, a pretty specimen, good lay of shoulder- beautifully presented. Unlucky to meet winner today. A very hard choice.

Best Puppy in Show – Lots of lovely puppies here today. These two certainly were splitting hairs. Both worthy of top awards.

Tobikanski, Mrs W. Janski Yamizzabl Witch (Chesky Terrier)

What a lovely youngster – and still showing strong so late in the day. Certainly, one to watch for the future – overall, a nice size, good head with pleasing ear carriage, moved soundly and a nice well-set tail.

Roulston, Miss H. Ivyjewel Dare To Dream (Boston Terrier)

A smart youngster, who looked the part in profile. Handsome head housing dark eyes, well sprung ribs. Very smart in profile.

Best Veteran in Show – by far the most difficult decision of the day.

Storey, Mrs K A. Ch RHODENENASH GLORIA (Pug)

A very smart specimen, nice shape, and head. Good angles throughout and moved soundly. Caught my eye immediately from entering the ring. A worthy champion, by far a cracking example of the breed.

Reserve Best Veteran in Show

Green, Mrs L. ANNECY LIQUID DIAMONDS FOR ASTROLYKA (Samoyed).

A breed that I have watched from a far as a youngster. Nothing over done here; nice head with good angulation throughout. Well made, certainly enjoying her day out.

A very nice tri bitch, with the prettiest of heads and expression. Good length of neck, with pleasing shoulder placement. Level top line with good angles throughout. Moved soundly.

Another pretty lady, nicely defined stop, good length of neck and overall a bitch of good substance; good spring of rib.

2nd Woodcock, Mr J and Mrs J. MOLESEND VERDICT AT RODDWOOD

A lovely dog, who has the softest expressions, perhaps a little on the feminine side. Nicely muscled and moved soundly, good angles too.

A very smart youngster, shapely and displaying that typical character, nice depth of chest and moved well for a youngster, caught my eye upon entering the ring. Best Puppy and Best of Breed

A pretty bitch, with such a feminine head; lovely attractive eyes portraying that typical pug like expression. Nicely sprung rib, pleasing tail set and nicely ribbed.

Caught my eye upon entering the ring. Pretty. Well-made and angled throughout. Had a lovely shape to her. Moved soundly.

A beautifully balanced specimen, nice head and expression with nice dark eyes. Well ribbed and angled. Moved soundly.

A lovely sized dog, nice lay of shoulder, plenty of substance and certainly looked the part – screamed “male”, plenty of strength in his thighs and a good depth of chest. Moved with drive. Best of Breed

Such a cutie! I suspect we will see more of her as she matures. Caught my eye upon entering the ring, and still showing her socks off. Such a pretty head- which she carried proudly on the move, nicely balanced for her age.

2nd Thomas, Miss L C. KELMORESPITZ FINDING MAGIC (Tibetan Terrier)

Unlucky to meet winner today. Another pretty youngster, who is equally as balanced as 1. Nicely angulated and moved soundly. One to watch, I think.

3rd Gordon, Ms W. HAWKFIELD WITCH DOCTOR (Pointer)

Another stunner! Red/fawn. Nice in profile and a good size- I think he will be one to watch as he matures. Nice dark eye, super head with a good ear set, noting his nice topline and good angles to the rear. Moved beautifully. Just oozes quality.

2nd Smith, C M. FLYENPEG AMY SWINEHOUSE (Labrador)

Unlucky to meet winner today. On a different day, could have swapped places. Another pretty youngster. Moved out well. Very pretty young lady, lovely angles and depth of chest.

What can one say about this pretty lemon and white pointer that already hasn’t? curvaceous and schooled to perfection. Stood out from a quality class purely on her lines. Lovely in profile and on the move. Oozes breed type and quality

Another pretty lady, who again, was unlucky to encounter 1. Nice lines and angles, well proportioned and balanced throughout. Moved soundly.

What a handsome man! Nicely pigmented and oh so handsome in head. Well placed shoulders and good reach of neck. Held his topline well on the move. Just the right amount of muscle definition. Used to his advantage on the move.

Nicely angled and well put together. Pleasing shape and head, a sturdy specimen who moved well and was nicely balanced throughout.
