2328. Basset Hound - Minor Puppy Dog

1ST 4907 - Clanwillow Ace High (Mrs S B & Mr K R Jones)

What a lovely quality puppy to start my judging. 6 month old red and white with a clean outline, and already a well established show man. Would prefer a touch more masculinity all through, but is nicely put together with an immaculate front and has sound purposeful movement. Carried his tail well sabre fashion which clinched the BEST PUPPY award .

2ND 4915 - Diheath Toffee Tart (Miss D & Miss J Melbourne & Murray)

Larger red male puppy who has lots of bone and substance ,preferred his type over the winner, but he couldn't match the winner on the move. Handsome head with dark lozenge shaped eye. Well sprung ribs and quality bone with well padded tight feet. Stunning colour

1ST 4900 - Woferlow Eclipse at Harvidene (Ms E Cudlip)

Tri colour baby with a stunning outline on the stack , would just like him a shade bigger at this stage. Well laid back shoulders and good prominent breastbone. Stifles well bent and he really drove round the ring .

2330. Basset Hound - Junior Dog

1ST 4918 - Woferlow One in A Million (Mrs D J Newman)

Black blanket young raw male, who unfortunately wasn't happy in the ring. He has a lovely masculine head and dark clean eyes. He has good bone and given time will be a hound of substance .His body was long and deep throughout .

2ND 4895 - Kenzduo Shore (Mrs L & Mr I & Mr R Bufton)

Tri colour boy at his first show and was a little unsure of what what expected of him but eventually settled enough for me to assess. Not the size ,bone or type of 1st . He has a good forechest and well sprung ribs , little short in ear length and light in eye .

2331. Basset Hound - Yearling Dog

1ST 4928 - Clanwillow Future Star (Mrs Z & Mr R Steers)

Red male who showed himself off so well. Masculine head with good reach of neck . He is a long hound but has a strong level topline. Really enthusiastic on the move just a tad wide coming towards but has a lovely powerful gait.

2ND 4914 - Diheath Macaramac (Miss D & Miss J Melbourne & Murray)

Substantial dark red male who is in fit hard condition and super coat. Masculine head with well curled ears of correct length .Unfortunately he wouldn't carry his tail up on the move.

2332. Basset Hound - Post Graduate Dog

1ST 4908 - Clanwillow Back to Th Future (Mrs S B & Mr K R Jones)

Impressive tri colour male who was considered for the res cc ,really super outline and I loved his head and depth of lip, would just prefer a shade darker eye. Exuberant hound who is really full of his own importance ,he moved fluently once settled. Another 6 months and I think he will trouble the best.

Good class !!

1ST 4910 - Clanwillow The Emerald King Jww'22 (Mrs S B & Mr K R Jones)

Red and white quality stallion hound with a handsome masculine head, but not coarse or overdone in any way. He is a hound of considerable substance ,which seems to be sadly lacking in many. Good dark lozenge shaped eye. Lovely reach of neck with correct lay back of shoulder and upper arm. Strong top line and super ribs. Well angulated at the rear which for me complimented his front angulation thus allowing him to power round the ring ,well handled not rushed or hurried, looked like he could go all day. I wish him well for the future, my DCC his and his owners first I believe.

2ND 4924 - Switherland Sorrel (Ms M Rodgers)

Another lovely typy red male who pushed the winner hard . Clean outline and so lovely on the stack .Just not as tidy on the move today as 1st. and slightly less bone in the rear. Muscular arched neck with some dewlap.Lots to like with this young male. RDCC

3RD 4887 - Woferlow Victorzsasz (Mrs N Beale)

2334. Basset Hound - Open Dog

1ST 4896 - Harvidene Doppleganger (Ms E Cudlip)

Impressive large stallion hound of the type that so appeals to me. Black blanket with the darkest of lozenge shaped eyes. Good length to ribs and correct topline. Super quality bone still young but a hound of substance. Loved his rear angulation giving him poweful rear movement , front just needs to tighten.

2ND 4892 - Blevwil Kenny Dewitt Cen JW Cen W (Mrs L A & Miss K Blevins)

Smaller black blanket who also powered round the ring ,totally different in type to first, in rock hard condition and handled well. A very smart dog who is also an established showman . Would prefer him a size bigger.

3RD 4917 - Ch Woferlow Kylo Ren (Mrs D J Newman)

2335. Basset Hound - Veteran Dog

1ST 4888 - Ch Woferlow Kayne West (Mrs N & Mrs D Beale & Newman)

An old favorite of mine who was my best veteran last time I judged . A very worthy champion. The years have been kind to this hound, and his owner needs to be complimented for his body condition which was spot on . Thankyou for the opportunity to judge him again BEST VETERAN in breed

2ND 4923 - Bushoby The Architect (Mrs J Robinson)

Another lovely veteran who was a different type to first being closer to the ground. He can still move soundly with real power from his lovely rear quarters. Another not looking his age

1ST 4916 - Diheath Treacle Tart (Miss D & Miss J Melbourne & Murray)

Extremally feminine red bitch puppy with a mind of her own. Well bodied for her age with excellent ribbing .

Shame she didn't carry her tail on the move because she is sound with nice ground clearance BPB

2339. Basset Hound - Junior Bitch

1ST 4893 - Blevwil Mysterious Mini (Mrs L A & Miss K Blevins)

Finer dark tri who was very exuberant and her handler did a great job of showing her . Free and easy on the move with good top line and balanced angulation. Pretty head with kind expression, very immature just needs time.

2ND 4899 - Harvidene Sapphire (Ms E Cudlip)

Another full of life young hound giving her handler a hard time. Shorter in length to first but has more maturity in body at this stage. Excellent front construction leading to tight feet. Was rising in topline today on the stack.

2341. Basset Hound - Post Graduate Bitch

Strong class

1ST 4886 - Lagniappe Time to Shine (Mrs L Barbrooke)

Really lovely quality white and red bitch who caught my eye as she entered the ring. So much to like ,soundly constructed which shows in her effortless ground covering movement. Very feminine head with dark eyes and correct scissor bite. Good strong bone and well let down hocks. Considered for the RES CC her day will come .

2ND 4906 - Burnvale Queen of Diamonds JW (Mr T Johnston)

Deep red and white who was also very correct and lovely to go over. Slightly shorter in length to 1st another who was sound and free moving. Particularly liked her width of thigh . Level topline and correct angulation fore and aft

3RD 4921 - Bushoby A New Daybreak (Mrs J Robinson)

2342. Basset Hound - Limit Bitch

Another lovely class

1ST 4898 - Harvidene Moonstone (Ms E Cudlip)

Stunning quality black bitch headed this strong class . Her outline blew me away, so beautiful and houndy without being overdone in any way. She was so balanced from head to toe I loved her. Not an easy bitch to handle and her owner did a fantastic job of getting the best out of her today. Just a little unsettled on the move which was the deciding factor for top honours, and so she was awarded the RBCC, will watch her future career with interest.

2ND 4911 - Switherland Final Chase at Stookewood (Mrs P A Mclean)

Larger framed classy red and white girl who I also really liked. Very correct in construction and in fantastic hard condition. Does not make the best of herself on the move insisting on moving with her head down as this alters her outline, but she is very sound .She has a wonderful forechest and immaculate front.

3RD 4905 - Burnvale Black Diamond JW (Mr T Johnston)

2343. Basset Hound - Open Bitch

1ST 4925 - Switherland Custard Cream for Bazbourne (Ms M & Mrs S Rodgers & The Late Danel)

A top quality bitch I have judged before as a youngster and previously gave her 1st in her class. My opinion has not changed she has matured well , she is a hound of substance but retains her femininity without any exaggerations . Her front construction is lovely with her keel neatly fitting into her crook. Her body is long and deep throughout. She has well laid back shoulders with tight elbows. Nothing could match her free ground covering movement today .So well handled to show off her many virtues BITCH CC AND BOB

2ND 4884 - Ch Lauralee A Kind of Magic (Miss L Armstrong)

Another top quality worthy champion bitch who is now fully mature and has many qualities to admire. She had the best ribs of the day, well sprung and extend well back. She was well muscled and her feet were well knuckled and padded. Just lost out on fluidity of movement today.

3RD 4902 - Braithwell Aurelia at Annilann (Mrs A, Mr M & Miss S J Daykin & Whiting)
