WINDSOR. NORWEGIAN ELKHOUNDS. 2ND JULY. JUDGE VIVIEN PHILLIPS

I HAD MISSED OUT ON JUDGING THE BREED IN 2020 DUE TO COVID SO I WAS INTERESTED TO SEE HOW IT HAD DEVELOPED SINCE 2016. . A COUPLE OF NARROWER MUZZLES THAN CALLED FOR AND MOVEMENT, IN HINDQUARTERS IN SOME WAS NOT STRONG. THERE WERE EXHIBITS HERE WHO WERE, IN MY OPINION LACKING IN SUBSTANCE. THE STANDARD CALLS FOR GOOD BONE.

SPECIAL BEGINNERS DOG OR BITCH (2)1st: FRIEND’S , BOWERHINTON BOROMIR. 18 MONTH OLD MALE WITH A STRONG HEAD. GOOD MOBILE EARS. CORRECT NECK AND FRONT WITH GOOD FEET. IN GOOD COAT. RIBBING GOES SUFFICIENTLY WELL BACK. MOVED OK RATHER CLOSE BEHIND, BEST SPECIAL BEGINNER 2nd: HARDY-WALLACE’S BRUMOUS A LYRICAL ECLIPSE. A NICE SHAPE TO THIS BITCH BUT SHE DID NOT WANT ME TO GO OVER HER , SO DIFFICULT TO ASSESS. MOVED OK WHEN SETTLED. HAD LEFT HER JACKET AT HOME.

VETERAN DOG OR BITICH (1 Entries) 1st: STEPHENSON’S BOWERHINTON BANGALORE AT BRAWDOR. 7 YEAR OLD DOG WITH A GOOD HEAD AND CORRECT MOBILE EARS. NICE ALERT EXPRESSION. STURDY FRONT AND VERY GOOD FEET. WELL RIBBED. IN GOOD COAT MOVED WELL WITH CORRECT HIND ANGULATION. BEST VETERAN

PUPPY DOG NO ENTRIES. JUNIOR DOG NO ENTRIES.

POST GRADUATE DOG. (2) 1st: SIMMS’ AFTONLEE AROS AT ELVERDAL 2 YEAR OLD UPSTANDING MALE . MOBILE EARS. FOUND HIS MUZZLE COULD BE BROADER. GOOD FEET AND SHOULDERS. RIBS GO WELL BACK. MOVED WELL WITH DRIVE FRONT AND BACK. IN GOOD COAT. 2nd: NETHERCOTT’S CEALDSTON ANCIENT HERO AT NEVELKA. 22 MONTH DOG I WOULD PREFER MORE SUBSTANCE FOR A MALE. SHAPE IS FINE BUT UPRIGHT SHOULDER.. GOOD FEET AND RIBBING. COULD HAVE MORE STRENGTH IN HIND QUARTERS.

LIMIT DOG (3) 1st: CLARKE’S GRAYTHOR COSMOPOLITAN.GOOD UPSTANDING 2 YEAR OLD MALE WITH A PLEASING HEAD AND EXPRESSION. HE HAS VERY MOBILE EARS. CORRECT FRONT AND TIGHT FEET. G MODERATE BEND OF STIFLE. STRONG HINDQUARTERS AND MOVED SOUNDLY WITH A STEADY PURPOSEFUL GAIT NOT THE “CYCLING” MOVEMENT OF SOME. CLOSE UP IN THE CHALLENGE. IN GOOD COAT. RES CC MUST HAVE A BRIGHT FUTURE. 2nd: MCMAHON’S SEASARA HIGH FLYER . A YOUNGSTER WITH A GOOD HEAD AND EARS. TAD UPRIGHT IN SHOULDER. GOOD FEET.CORRECT HIND ANGULATION BUT NOT THE POWERFUL DRIVE FROM BEHIND AS MY WINNER.3rd: STEPHENSON’S NORVIN MARVEL OF BRAWDOR.

OPEN DOG (3) 1 ABS. 1st: SIMMS’ CH, SEASARA EARL GREY. VERY GOOD 6 YEAR OLD WHO ENTERED THE RING WITH STYLE. LOVELY HEAD AND EYE. MOBILE EARS. GOOD SHOULDERS AND RIBBING. TIGHT FEET. SOLID CORRECT LENGTH BODY . STRONG HINDQUARTERS WHICH HE USED TO DRIVE ROUND THE RING. STRONG FRONT ACTION. IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. CC AND BOB. 2nd: MAUN’S CH BOWERHINTON BASSANIO. 4 YEAR OLD GOOD HEAD BUT HE FLATTENED HIS EARS. TEETH COULD BE CLEANER. HE IS OF CORRECT SIZE AND BODY LENGTH . WELL RIBBED BUT NOT THE FRONT DRIVE OF MY WINNER AND CLOSER IN HIND MOVEMENT.

GOOD CITIZEN DOG OR BITCH NO ENTRIES

PUPPY BITCH. (1) MAUN’S BOWERHINTON BLACKBIRD. SWEET YOUNGSTER OF 9 MONTHS. LOVELY HEAD AND EXPRESSION. USED HER EARS CORRECTLY AND SHE IS WELL LET DOWN FOR HER AGE. COAT A LITTLE BLOWN AT THE MOMENT AND WHEN STOOD SHE IS A TAD HIGH IN THE REAR, BUT STILL MATURING AND HER HINDQUARTERS ARE CORRECTLY ANGULATED . SHE MOVED VERY WELL. RES CC. NO DOUBT A GOOD FUTURE FOR THIS YOUNG LADY. BEST PUPPY

JUNIOR BITCH (1) 1st: CALLOW, & DAVIS’ WHITTIMERE ALRIGHT BAB JW. THIS 15 MONTH YOUNGSTER IS QUITE LEGGY AND I FOUND HER RATHER FINE IN BONE. . SHE HAS A VERY GOOD HEAD AND EARS. AND WAS IN GOOD COAT. CORRECT SHOULDERS AND RIBBING.  CORRECT HIND ANGULATION WITH PARALLEL HIND MOVEMENT. RETAINED A GOOD SHAPE IN SIDE GAIT. :

POST GRADUATE (2) BARGANSKA & KING’S BRUMOUS A NEW DAWN FOR BARBELKA. SMALLER BITCH WITH A GOOD HEAD AND EARS. RIBBING GOES WELL BACK. CORRECT SHAPE AND LENGTH OF BODY. MOVED QUITE WELL.

2nd: BARGANSKA’S CEALDSTAN ANCESTRAL VOICES OF BARBELKA (A.I.) MORE UP ON LEG THAN THE WINNER AND FINER. LEFT HER JACKET AT HOME. BUT SHE HAS A PLEASING HEAD AND EYE. NOT THE DRIVE OF 1 ON THE MOVE.

LIMIT BITCH (2) 1. MAUN’S BOWERHINTON BRIGHT LADY. VERY FEMININE BUT STRONG BITCH WITH A VERY GOOD HEAD AND EARS.. CORRECT SHOULDERS AND RIBBING. GOOD COMPACT OUTLINE AND MOVED WITH PLENTY OF DRIVE ESPECIALLY IN FRONT. HINDQUARTERS CORRECT BUT NEED TO TIGHTEN UP A BIT . POSSIBLY HER HANDLER COULD SLOW DOWN SO SHE COULD STEADY HERSELF. BUT SHE IS A LOVELY TYPE, CC. 2nd: SOUTHALL’S SEASARA HERMIONE.. THIS BITCH HAS A GOOD HEAD AND EARS, TIGHT FEET AND CORRECT SHOULDERS. LONGER CASTE THAN THE WINNER. MOVED QUITE WELL BUT NOT THE SUFFICIENT DRIVE FROM BEHIND IN SIDE GAIT.

OPEN BITCH NO ENTRIES
