MINIATURE PINSCHER

Judge: Tony Allcock OBE

I thoroughly enjoyed the challenges presented today as there were many super dogs exhibited. This really was a quality entry. There was a variation in type and movement so compromises were accepted and decisions made accordingly. The breed is in good heart and temperaments are excellent. It was a great atmosphere around the ring and for a Miniature Pinscher to achieve Best In Show and Best Puppy In Show it was certainly a memorable day for the breed.

1st: Watkins & Bugden’s Hawksflight Hot Pursuit. 11 months old. Simply lovely. My hands just flowed over this wonderful example of the breed. He produces an absolute picture both standing and when moving. A detailed description of him can be found verbatim in the breed standard! He gained many admirers today including the BIS judge in particular. CC, BOB, BPIB, BIS & BPIS.

2nd: White’s Sticmaze Carrot Stick. 7 months. A little larger and naturally had significantly more substance. Holds a secure slightly sloping top-line and has a correct tail set. Admired his careful forehand and amply strong rear drive. At times he can stand a tad untidy in front. Presented in lovely coat and condition.

3rd: Harrison’s Glenbrows Well I Never

1st: Westerman’s Charpin Ottomatic JW. An impressive young dog. He is beautifully put together, maintaining his stunning outline on the move. He moved with power and drive being careful and precise. Super clean neck, set above great shoulders aid impressive forehand reach. His masculine balanced head contains appealing dark eyes with pigment to enhance. On the move he makes full use of his well angulated hindquarters and short sturdy hocks. He is handled expertly and at all times at one with his handler. Undoubtedly, of champion quality. RCC

2nd: Santoriello’s Pinicio. Produces a stunning profile on the stand and is an attentive and alert showman. He carries his handsome masculine head high with a ‘look at me’ attitude. Nicely made throughout, his body is well ribbed and compact. I liked him a lot and is clearly out of the top drawer but today, not quite as precise as 1 when moving. Presented in superb condition.

Ample neck; well laid shoulders. Impressive body proportions. On the move he has clean front and strong rear drive. Super coat.

Excellent ears, holds a secure top-line on the move. Appealing when standing. In a close call just preferred the head of 1. Very accurate on the move but I felt he could have been a tad more animated. Close up on winner.

3rd: Thouless’s Jaegerson The Philosopher

1st: Santoriello’s Pinicio Red Rebellion, JW. A stylish young Red dog almost 2 years. Masculine but still retaining elegant influence. Impressive when standing. Head contained dark eyes, correct length of muzzle, good dentition all framed by correctly set ears. His body proportions included a secure topline, well sprung ribs and moderate tuck up. His forehand, whilst supporting hackneyed gait, was a touch uncoordinated. Drove well behind using his powerful muscles. Another exciting young dog.

2nd: Twigg’s Bamtybo Dark Lord At Teffys. 5 years. Lovely size. Super B/T coat. Produces a balance outline. Classic head, dark sparkling eyes and used his ears well. Enough neck, and good shoulders. Well bodied. Tail well set. Very well-muscled. Steady on the move.

Very nice temperament and beautifully presented.

He has a lovely head and expression, well set ears and dark eyes. Good for neck, compact body shape and strong rear. He moved OK. Coat was short and glossy and of a lovely colour.

1st: Urwin’s Vickstock Wow Aneeva. 6 month old baby. Small, elegant and so very sweet! Feminine head with a lovely finish and dentition. Adequate neck, secure topline and tail is well set. She moved really well and was confident with it too. I feel she will do very well.

2nd: Hartley & Fahey’s Sticmaze Slapstick With Zoomeera. Well made for her age. Secure topline; tail well held. She was excitable on the move with her feet hardly touching the ground, but she is still young so this will settle. Pleasing head and expression. Short, glossy, tight fitting jacket. She is balanced in profile.

1st: Bugden & Preddy’s Hawksflight Hotta Than Hell. Red 11 months and promising. She looks very smart in profile. Her head is feminine and balanced. Super shoulders. Clean front; well bodied. She moved maintaining her excellent profile and is a careful true mover. In a close decision she just had a touch more maturity over 2.

2nd: Billington’s Aquepins Phryne Fisher. B/T 9 months old and pleasing for both size and balance. Appealing head properties with a keen expression. Nicely bodied; correct slight slope to topline; tail well set. Clean forehand movement with adequate drive from well angulated hindquarters. Close call and splitting hairs.

1st: Santoriello’s Pinicio Roses Are Red. 14 months old and a real beauty. Oozing breed type, shapely and simply lovely to examine. Full of spark on the move she is accurate, knows it and a total show-off. Loved her head and expression. Well bodied. Topline was secure. Just needs to mature a little and she will then romp to her title.

2nd: Billington’s Aquepins Jessica Fletcher. 9 months. Square, and sturdily built, whilst being a showgirl she will equally play an important part in any breeding programme. Sound and totally honest, she produces a balanced profile. Good for head, eye and ears. Well bodied. Moved well. In beautiful coat.

1st: Scourfield’s Danton Strike A Pose. 21 month old. Feminine with substance and well filled in front. Head with dark well shaped eyes giving a super expression. Ears well set. Correct length of muzzle with plenty of underjaw. Excellent dentition. Loved her outline when standing, epitomising the classic silhouette. Her body was short coupled with a very gentle sloping secure topline. High set tail that was carried correctly. Her coat was shiny and glossy and she is totally fit. Today, she demonstrated a ‘true hackney action’ which I carefully examined. This is rare to see and might appear unfamiliar to many. After several RCC’s, and amongst great company today, I was delighted to award her a well-deserved second CC.

2nd: Coull’s Vardenais Petite Noir. B/T 20 months. This bitch really needs careful examination to confirm her many breed attributes. Perhaps not as flashy as some, she is perfectly honest and on the move is as sound as a bell. She has a super well balanced outline. Presented in great coat and condition.
