Leeds City & District Canine Association

Breed: Weimaraner

Thank you to Leeds Championship Dog Show for affording me the opportunity to award my first set of CC’s in Weimaraners.

A breed I adore and very much enjoy judging. My BOB is at the top of his game and cannot be denied in my humble opinion, his awards. I was delighted to watch him go on to win Group 3 in a strong gundog group. There are a few quality youngsters coming through and this only can be good for the breed. Movement overall was correct, and temperaments were excellent throughout my entry. Thank you to all the exhibitors , I truly appreciate all of your entries and enjoyed judging your dogs.

1st: CHARLISH, Miss Ellen Gunalt The Hangover

Really lovely quality puppy , loved his outline stood , he has a noble head , high set ears ,moderate stop and keen expression with kind eye. Clean neck which sits correctly into withers, excellent lay of shoulder and strong topline. For a puppy he has a well-developed rib cage and deep through brisket, rear end is correct and not overdone . Strong hocks which are firm and well let down . On the move he is true in his footfall, yes at times he does have a little play but he is a puppy . I am sure he will be competing with the big boys soon.BPIB Delighted to see him awarded puppy group 3.

1st: CAIRNS, Miss LORRAINE P LAMARG SILVER HUNTSMAN

Balanced outline stood , typy head with good finish to muzzle , strong level topline , ribbed well back . Very good rear quarters which he used well on the move, covered the ground on an easy stride. Just a little loose in his hocks needs time to strength and mature.

2nd: BROWN, Mr Gareth & DAVIES, Ms Mandy Gunalt Polished at Wystry

Preferred this dogs head , moderate stop and tight flews but he didn’t have the rear end of the 1st needs to drop into his quarters to present a more balanced outline . Sound but he was a bit sluggish on the move today but has time on his side.

Class JD (7 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: SUETT, Mrs Melissa Silberliss Peckham Pouncer

Bigger framed dog but good height to length ratio , he has a masculine head with kind expression, decent forequarters , rear quarters well muscled and hocks well let down , he needs time to fill his frame.

Another quality, elegant young dog, medium in build, balanced front and rear quarters, clean neck into well set shoulders. Head of correct breed type, moderate stop with a keen expression.

Excellent spring and length of ribs, he is shown in super muscular condition and on the move , he looks effortless, lovely long stride and well-placed foot fall. I could not deny him the RCC today in very good company.

Class LD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 2573 SPAVINS, Mr Paul ASHSTERN Delphinius

Smaller in frame than some , masculine head , maybe a little wider in skull than I prefer but still with desired expression.

Very good front quarters and forechest. On the move he was true in his movement , would prefer to see a touch more drive from behind .

1st: ALCORN, Mr D R & INGRAM, Mr Gavin Sh Ch Gunalt Hendricks

There is little more I can add that hasn’t been said about this boy. He fits the standard so well.

Elegant , balanced , powerful . What is impressive is that this dog is always shown in peak condition , he is correctly muscled , and coat was gleaming. He enjoys his job and has a great partnership with his owner. They are a joy to watch on the move, so very correct and totally effortless . Congratulations on all your success, DCC & BOB .

2nd: SIMPSON, Mrs G Ch Sireva Emeyefive JW

Still a young dog that has achieved so much and I can see why , different in build to the 1st but another shown in great condition . Conformation is correct and he is muscled up correctly and uses his rear end to drive around the ring . He is a picture of power on the stack. I would just like a little more of him.

What a star , one of the best long hairs I have judged. Loved his head and his construction is spot on. Shown in great condition and it showed on the move . In the big ring for best veteran he moved very well . A delight to judge .

Class 833 (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: DOBBS, Mrs D Kalimor Summa Love JW

Very nice head on this bitch , kind feminine expression. Overall a balanced outline stood . Just a little out at the elbows but good body length and decent forechest .

She moved okay , could be a little more animated on the move but just post season I was informed.

Class MPB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: INGRAM, Mr Gavin A Gunalt Mixer.

Not as forward as her brother, she is a raw puppy who has the correct frame to grow into. Needs her head to develop and as she grows in confidence her movement will tighten and settle and she will look the part.

Class PB (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: LONGBOTTOM, Miss R & MILBY, Mr P Gunalt Curtain Call, stronger in head but kind expression, excellent front on this girl , deep forechest , well ribbed and correct topline . Good width to 2nd thigh , just be careful not to overstretch her on the stack . Covers the ground well on the move , driving from her strong , short hocks.

2nd:MURRAY, Ms Rachel Silberstern Rumour has it around Rachmor

3rd: HILL, Miss Cheryl Weipowa Ida

Class JB (4 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: HESFORD, Mr & Mrs M & J & CAMPBELL, Miss H Pipwell Penny Lane

Lovely girl , still young , full of breed type she doesn’t look the easiest to stack as she does fidget but she is very well put together , as you put your hands on her her shoulders flow into her body and rear quarters are correctly angled and nothing overdone , head and expression are so feminine , she doesn’t lack substance as she is well boned and has strength and power. Very clean on the move , holding her topline. She has a super side gait and as she matures she will trouble the best , delighted to award her RCC

2nd: SUETT, Mrs Melissa Silberliss Saucy Mare JW

Not as forward or mature as the 1st placed . She has pretty head , kind eye, neck of decent length that flows into a well made front, good forechest . Not quite as together on the move but as she develops and strengthens her movement with tighten.

3rd: HILL, Miss Cheryl Weipowa Ida

Class PGB (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: TIERNEY, Ms G Gunalt Elderflower At Greyfurs JW

Really liked this girl for type and conformation , she looked super on the stack and didn’t disappoint on closer expression. Pretty head with good eye and kindest expression, longish neck into a super front . Deep through chest and well ribbed. Shown in super muscular condition. Moved true , with drive . Very close to top honours today .

2nd: BROWN, Mr Gareth & DAVIES, Ms Mandy Wystry One Mint Julep

Slightly finer in build but very balanced in outline , pretty head with moderate stop and kind expression. She moved well showing drive from her short hocks , held her topline on the move , just preferred the substance of the winner .

3rd: PILATOVA, Miss Sabina Sabsky Svratka JW

Class LB (6 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: CAIRNS, Miss LORRAINE P LAMARG SILVER SHOWTOFF , well put together bitch , with a balanced outline , front and rear quarters matching for angulations . A little stronger in head than I prefer but won this class on her movement. Correct and showed reach and drive.

2nd: HILL, Miss Cheryl Weipowa Beretta

Preferred her head to the 1st , moderate stop and kind expression, good lay of shoulder and ample forechest. Good width to second thigh . She lacked straightness and drive today .

3rd: SUETT, Mrs Melissa Silberliss Soiltaire

Class OB (7 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: RODGERS, Mrs Claire Sh Ch Minstergate Carnival JW, still a young bitch but so together on the stack and on the move . Her construction is spot on. She is a super bitch to go over , everything just flows, typy head, keen expression , excellent shoulders and well muscled rear . Hocks short and firm, she powers round the ring showing reach and drive . Pleasure to judge and award her the BCC .

2nd: WILSON, Mrs Tracy Sireva Incognito, smaller in build but clean in her outline , she has very well muscled rear quarters which she used to power round the ring , very good in profile.

3rd:ALLISON, Miss B Sh Ch Sireva Surfer To Silberstern
