SHAR PEI CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW – 12/11/23

SPECIAL AWARD CLASSES - MR STEVE PARKER (ALBIONPRIDE)

I would like to thank the Shar Pei Club of Great Britain for inviting me to judge the Special Award Classes at their Championship Show. It is always a privilege to judge this breed as it is not a breed I own but one I admire and one day I hope to own and campaign. I received an entry of 6 dogs and 5 were present on the day. The dogs were presented in great condition and I did not come across any obvious health issues.

CLASS A – Special Award Junior Dog or Bitch (2, 1abs)

1. PRADA GOLDEN AGE OF KING FOR CHIFIDO (IMP UKR) NAF. Fawn horse coat bitch. Very promising youngster, not one year old yet. Very feminine appearance. Overall a good well put together young lady. Nice head with well placed ears. Excellent topline. She was a bit spooked by something on the mat but moved well when coming back to me. This was the first horse coat I have had the pleasure of going over and I have to say she did not disappoint.

CLASS B – Special Award Post Graduate Dog or Bitch (1, 0abs)

1. SHIRA VICTORY ZAZZING IT UP FOR DOOLISH. Red brush coat bitch. 2 years old. Good head qualities with correct top line to high set tail, nicely placed. Moved well.

CLASS C - Special Award Open Dog or Bitch (3, 0abs)

1. WITCHGAIT SMILE WITH STYLE AT BOMOJO. Brush coat dog with flat broad skull. Ears sat just where they should be. Excellent dark oval eyes. Lovely broad dark muzzle. I loved this dog’s expression. He has a deep chest, straight forelegs to the neatest of feet. Lovely top line and is short coupled. This dog must have a bright future infront of him and for me was the best mover on the day.

2. WITCHGAIT SHOW US YA BAPS. Just short of 3 years old, bitch. Lovely feminine head piece. Well padded foreface. Good dentition. Excellent clear eyes. Another with a good topline with no exaggeration. Well placed tail. Nice rear angulation when viewed from the side. Moved very well, holding topline. Litter sister to the first. Another with a bright future.
