IRISH SETTERS

I would like to thank the Belfast Dog Show Society for inviting me to come and judge my own breed for the 2nd time with CC´s in the UK. Judging your own breed is always special. I would like to thank the exhibitors coming from Ireland and the mainland in the UK to come all the way to Belfast, I appreciate the effort you all put it in to make the journey. I really was impressed with my main winners and they could win anywhere in the world.

1. Crocker´s Sh Ch Riverbrue Gloriana (Mr B A Crocker)

WOW is what my notes say about her. Any person being interested in the breed would know this the Bitch Breed Record Holder and me being a breed specialist knew it directly when she came into my ring. I was so honored and happy that I finally was able to put my hands on her. I am sure many things have already been said and written about this smashing bitch and I am more than happy to put my thoughts about her onto pen and paper. The moment she came into my ring I know she was my star of the day as she oozes all the qualities I look for in the breed. Her outline is what is written in the breed standard, racy, balanced and full of quality and in confirmation proportionate, she definitely ticked all those boxes. She has a beautiful long and lean head with a kind and intelligent expression. The look in her eyes told me she knew what she was doing, putting up a fantastic performance and showed me all her breed features. Excellent set of neck, flowing into a gently sloping topline with correct tailset, textbook angulations. Excellent depth in body and my hands confirmed the correct length of leg. Lovely bone and feet. She was shown in immaculate condition with the maximum amount of beautiful rich chestnut coat with the correct texture and as flat and free as possible from curves or waves. The moment she sets off to move her she gave her handler the affectionate look and said, “hey let´s do this together” with true action and perfect co-ordination! What a thrill to see her going and carried herself so well and willing to go, I could watch her doing it for hours and I am sure she would put up a stellar performance in a huge ring! I just couldn’t keep the smile off my face and I enjoyed every minute of me assessing her. Thus, I had no doubts to award her the CC and she was THE ONE TO BEAT on the day and no-one came near her overall qualities so to give her BOB was a no-brainer to me. Thanks to the owner for bringing her under me!
