MPD (2 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: NEWMAN, Mrs Deborah Woferlow One in a Million - six month old tricolour on his first outing and after a few ‘skits’ he managed to settle down and coped well with his surrounds. Well held top line, good shoulder, developing fore chest and a good ground covering gait in profile. Good prospect.

PD (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: LANE, Mrs & Mr K & S G Clanwillow Golden Child - I preferred his rear angulation drive and movement on the day. Good reach of neck, nice shoulder, good top line well set on tail and good carriage.

2nd: BARBROOKE, Mrs L Clanwillow Golden Arrow - Attractive head correct forechest and balanced angulation. Just unable to tidy up his rear movement on the day.

JD (7 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: CRAGG, Mrs J Spirebear Black Caviar - I liked this young male in every respect but sadly he would not carry his tail on the day. That said his overall quality was in my view still worthy of his class win. Good head and expression, excellent balanced angulation gave him the opportunity to completely out move the competition.

2nd: MACKAILL, Mr Gary & MACKAILL, Mrs Linda Clanwillow Future Voyager - A lack of balance in his head proportions for me but a good front and when he got going he moved with a sound ground covering gait.

3rd: ELLRICH, Mrs Debbie & ELLRICH, Mr Malcolm Malrich Hendricks

Res: BLEVINS, Mrs Lesley & BLEVINS, Miss Kelly Blevwil Stan Dup

Res: GREEN, Mrs V L Royal Ryan V.Grunsven with Braithwell

2nd: FREUDENREICH, Mrs Kirsty & FREUDENREICH, Ms Charlo Lockolea Rocket Man - I liked this male very much who has excellent reach and drive indeed the best in his class but on the day I could not ignore his untidy feet.

1st: BEALE, Mrs Nicola & NEWMAN, Mrs Deborah Jane Ch Woferlow Kayne West - An absolute favourite of mine and so great to see him again at the age of nine and a half on what I believe was his retirement outing. Remains a credit to the Breed and was as sound as always and was in good coat and condition. Delightful.

LB (8 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: FREUDENREICH, Mrs Kirsty & FREUDENREICH, Ms Charlo Lockolea Circle of Life - This for me was the ‘take home’ of the day! A gorgeous bitch who demonstrates the classic ‘working Basset Hound movement’ so rarely seen in the show ring today. Absolutely excellent reach and drive head held in a ‘working pose’. Feminine head and expression excellent angulation fore and aft well held top line good tail set and carriage. A good future for this two year old.

2nd: MELBOURNE, Miss D & MURRAY, J Diheath Rtwo Jutwo - Another well balance bitch, nice reach of neck powerful shoulders well angulation good croup. Showed off to advantage. Excellently handled and presented.

3rd: BLEVINS, Mrs Lesley & BLEVINS, Miss Kelly Blevwil Zena

Res: MCLEAN, Mrs P A Switherland Final Chase At Stookewood

VHC: WILLIAMS, Ms D Bromp Bigbutt Grace Brown

OB (7 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: ARMSTRONG, Miss L Ch Lauralee A Kind Of Magic - Absolutely sound on the move but for my preference I would have a touch more croup and this would reset the tail set and carriage. But this bitch on the stand has an excellent front very appealing feminine head and expression and is perfectly handled and presented.

2nd: HARDS, Mrs H M Mellow Molly V Grunsven at Braemoray (Imp NLD) - So much to like about this bitch but I would need to ‘cut and paste’ a shade out of her length to give the overall balance. That said she held her top line very well throughout and moved impeccably. Good head nice reach of neck shown in excellent coat and great condition.

3rd: BLEVINS, Mrs Lesley & BLEVINS, Miss Kelly CH & IR CH Blevwil Zenn

Res: WILLIAMS, Ms D Ch Bromp Bertha Brown

VHC: PEARSON, Miss Y C Ch Armardio Im On Fire JW

VB (2 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: PEARSON, Miss Y C GB Ch Roamanbay Russia With Love To Armardio JW - An eight and a half year old of undoubted qualities but like most of us is carrying a little ‘extra’ in advancing years. Feminine head well angulated moved with an easy gait. Continues to be a credit to the Breed.
