It was a great honour to be invited to judge at Richmond Championship Dog Show. This was my 1st time at this venue and I loved the layout. The day was very hot and the rain in the afternoon was welcome, just to cool everything down. Thank you for the entries it was very much appreciated. All exhibits were shown in a good clean condition.

AVNSC (PASTORAL)

Veteran D/B (3,2), 1 White, Mrs. F., Overhills the Midas Touch for Beauceanto: An 8yr. old Beauceron dog that is well proportioned all over. He has a good size head and excellent length of neck, front legs well under him, giving him plenty of chest room. Very firm body, neat angles to rear, with strong hocks. Moved ok. Pleased to award him BV.

Puppy Dog (1,0), 1 Mottram, Miss L., Mybeards Sweep: A 10mth old black and white Polish Lowland Sheepdog that is well grown for his age and shown in good coat. He has nice proportions and is well balanced with neat angles to front and rear and neat hocks. He has a balanced head and is nicely constructed. Presented and handled to perfection, moved so confidently around the ring. Pleased to award him BP, BD and later BOB. Well done and congratulations.

Junior Dog (2,0), 1 Harrell, Mrs. Kim & Branchflower, Miss Alysha, Titan Des Ramparts Castles (Imp Fr): A 17mth old Beauceron that moved well around the ring. He is well grown with a nicely balanced head, nice neck, deep brisket, strong back, neat rear end, which he used to his advantage.

2 Warren, Miss Kathryn & Lusty, Miss Abby, Coledale Jupiter Rises with Blamorder: A 16mth Tri Collie (Smooth) that was beaten on movement. He is of a nice type and out-line, with a lovely head and neck carriage, good back and neat rear with a nice tail-set.

Post. Graduate Dog (4,0), 1 Riva, Miss K., Manordeifi Rock On: A 3yr old s/w Collie (Smooth) dog that is very pleasing on the eye. He is a well-balanced dog with a neat front and rear, making a nice out-line. He showed well, was pleased to award him Res.BD. Moved well, very nice type.

2 Warren, Miss Kathryn & Lusty, Miss Abby, Coledale Jupiter Rises with Blamorder: as before.

3 Edwards, Mr. Martin & Edwards, Miss Lilia, Mopies Dr Zhivago: A 2.6yr old OES dog maturing up well. This young handler has been learning how to present and to get the best out of this dog. He has a pleasing head and neck, front ok, neat rear. Moved out well, still needs to practice showing and moving. Pleased to award him Best Special Beginners.

4 White, Mrs. F., Overhills Double Trouble for Beauceanto: A well grown 5yr old Beauceron dog just let himself down on the move. Looks ok in profile but side-winded coming and going. Shame.

Open Dog (1,0), 1 Lattimer, Mrs. Lesley-Ann, Aust. Ch. Ottaba Right on Quewe, (Imp. Aus), AI: A 2yr old male Old English Sheepdog that has improved since I 1st saw him. He still has some maturing to do, and his coat is improving with more length. He is well presented with a clean coat. He has a balanced head for size and a neat front. He just needs strengthening.

Puppy Bitch (2,1), 1 Stacey, Miss Bianca, Assaf Monisha: An 8mth old Komondor bitch that is coming along nicely. Her legs are well under her, giving her a stable platform for the future. She has a nice head and is very feminine. Good length of neck and nice angles to front, good brisket, nice back and good back end with neat hocks. She moved out steadily around the ring. Pleased to award her BPB & Res.BB. Well done.

Post. Graduate Bitch (3,1), 1 Harrell, Mrs. Kim & Branchflower, Miss Alysha, Beaukita’s McCory Park: A 2.6yr old Beauceron bitch that us well grown with a very feminine head and neat neck. Neat angles to front and a good brisket. Strong back, neat back-end which she used to her advantage moving well around the ring. Pleased to award her BB.

2 Martin, Dr. Alison, Lilipop Cloudberry: A 3.6yr old Old English Sheepdog bitch that requires grooming properly. The coat is harsh on the top, but the undercoat is matting up. I know that it is not easy and that it will not be done over-night, but it needs attention. She has a pleasing head and is very feminine. She also requires some practice with her movement then she will be more settled in the ring.

Special Beginners D/B (1,0), 1 Edwards, Mr. Martin & Edwards, Miss Lilia, Mopies Dr Zhivago: A 2.6yr old OES dog. (As before).

AV Imported Register Breeds (PASTORAL)

Post. Graduate Dog (4,1), 1 Storrie, Mr. Bruce, Blanchhutton Cazar: A White Swiss Shepherd Dog. I had a nice line-up of shepherds and heading up this class was this 21mth old dog that is well grown for his age and well presented. He was good on the move with a nice out-line and of a good type. Good masculine head, good neck, neat front, good back, strong back-end and he moved well around the ring. Pleased to award him Res.BD.

2 Dennis, Mrs. Marilyn & Dennis, Mr. Michael, Shadowshack All Moons: Another nice 2yr old male White Swiss Shepherd Dog that was shown in good coat. Made a very nice picture with a very nice out-line and was very typy. Not quite as good as 1st on the day.

3 Henshaw, Mr. Carl & Henshaw, Mrs. Dawn, Whitehemi’s Brabham: White Shepherd Dog that was just over 1yr old this male was giving so much away to maturity, which showed in this movement. That said he is of a nice type with a nice out-line.

Open Dog (2,1), 1 Sandford, Mr. Paul & Sandford, Mrs. Jo, Fato Del Boscoantico, (Imp. Ita): A 7yr old male Bergamasco that was shown in a dark mature full coat that was of a good texture and well flocked with a good weight to it. He is pleasing on the eye being of a good type and out-line. He has a balanced head of good proportions, good length of neck, neat front and brisket. Strong back, good strong back-end and good hocks. He moved around the ring with ease, pleased to award him BD & BOB. Congratulations.

Puppy Bitch (1,0), 1 Dennison, Mrs. Vicki & Dennison, Mr. Mark, Lyra Varvara I Came To Win at Kuri TWS, (Imp. SVN): A White Swiss Shepherd bitch that was nearly 12mths of age. This bitch is well grown for her age and very settled on the move. She is well balanced and is of a nice type and out-line. A very feminine bitch that moved very well for her age. I was pleased to award her BPB, BPIB and Res.BB. Well done.

Post Graduate Bitch (3,0), 1 Milham, Mrs. P., Ariel Of The Lowlands Whites in Shadowshack, (Imp. N.): A 17mth old bitch, White Swiss Shepherd Dog that was well grown for her age. Still has some maturing to do, just to fill her out a little more, as I felt she was a little on the lean side at the moment. That said she moved out well and is of a nice type and out-line. Pleased to award her BB.

2 Sandford, Mr. Paul & Sandford, Mrs. Jo, Ancient Eyes Gemma nel Boscoantico, (Imp. USA): This 2yr old Bergamasco bitch has still some way to go with her flocking and to get the length. But it is coming and she is of a pleasing type and out-line. She moved out freely around the ring.

3 Hughes, Mrs. Sarah, Whitehemi’s Benz: White Swiss Shepherd Dog. A 12mths old bitch that is of a very pleasing type and out-line. She is just lacking in maturity against the others in the class. Moves ok. Pleased to award her Best Special Beginner.

Open Bitch (1,0), 1 Hughes, Mrs. Sarah, Whitehemi’s Benz: White Swiss Shepherd Dog. As before.
