Junior Dog (1,0)

1st Tattersall’s Alanea Mirror Image. 16mth and what a lovely youngster. Good type in outline with a soft head of good proportions and expressive dark eyes. Super forequarters with well laid shoulders and good forechest. Straight, well boned front and tidy feet. Level topline over ribs of correct spring and depth, through a short loin to a well angulated and muscular rear showing just the right turn of stifle. A typical junior on the move, not as together as the adults but showing reach and drive.Good coat and colour. A very promising youngster from this handler. RCC

Limit Dog (2,0)

1st Humphries’ Spyefire Secret Agent JW. Headed up a class of 2 very different dogs. Very old fashioned dog. As broad through the head as I would want but at 5yrs old this should not change. Dark eyes but a soulful expression. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders but for me lacks in forechest. Good bone and feet ok. Lovely depth of chest and spring of rib through a well angled rear with a good turn of stifle. On the move he is true, effortless with reach and drive.
2nd Catton & Cook’s Daithi Shadow Dog with Ferngate (Imp Pol) This 4 yr boy presents a different outline. Finer throughout and longer cast. Masculine head with a good breadth of skull with length to his foreface. Hazel eyes of good shape. Neck of good length into well laid shoulders but another who lacks forechest. Good bone and feet ok. Well sprung ribs of good depth through to a well muscled loin and moderate rear angles. Moved true coming and going with good drive when he wasn’t jumping.

Open Dog (3,0)

1st Ward’s Sh Ch Cornadore Argyle with Copperwhite (Imp Pol). I have liked this typey 7yr from ringside for a while presenting a lovely shape. Good breadth to skull and lovely proportions with muzzle very slightly shorter. His dark brown, round eyes are captivating. His neck is of correct length and sits on well laid shoulders. Good forechest and return of upper arm, nice amount of bone and neat feet. Well sprung ribs of good depth and a short muscular loin sit under a level topline to a correct tailset. Good rear angles. On the move there is nothing overdone or rushed. Steady, so very true with good reach and drive and beautiful footfall. Well deserved CC & BOB
2nd Titterton’s Spyefire Reyt Bobby Dazzler. Different in outline to my winner but I rather liked this 5yr old on the stand. Lovely head with correct proportions and a soft expression. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders, another with correct upper arm and forechest. Deep ribs with good spring through to a well angled rear. Unfortunately, today he had the devil in him and led his mum a merry dance on the move. He did show glimpses of the true driving movement I was looking for but not enough to award him anything higher.

Veteran Bitch (1,0)

1st Soper’s Lovenjoel Belle of The Ball. My notes describe this young lady as a 7yr old spirited puppy!! Love her outline, feminine head of correct breadth and proportions with dark eyes and a soft expression. Correct length of neck to well made forequarters with well laid shoulders and enough forechest. Good spring of rib, muscular loin and a well angled rear when her handler doesn’t overstretch her. Moves true and steady with good reach and drive. Best Veteran

Junior Bitch (2,0)

1st Tattersall’s Alanea Savannah. Like her brother this B has a lovely head of correct shape and proportions, with dark eyes that look at you with a mischievous glint. Well made forequarters with well laid shoulders and super forechest. Good bone and tidy feet. Correct spring of rib through to a firm loin. Not quite settled in her topline at the moment and can appear a little low in tailset. Adequate rear angles and moved well with reach and drive. I look forward to seeing her once she has settled.
2nd Hawkins’ Rubethan Florentine of Aislingwood. A very feminine, pretty 14mth. Pleasing head, finer than some but another with lovely eyes and soft expression. Not carrying the bone or body of the winner but well put together with well laid shoulders, straight front and a good spring of rib. Correct rear angles with good turn of stifle. Moved well.

Post Graduate Bitch (3,0)

1st Barnes’ Ambancy This Is Me Lovely 21mth typey B of correct body proportions. Super head, lovely shape and proportions with dark expressive eyes. Good length of neck into well made forequarters with well laid shoulders and enough forechest. Straight front and neat feet. Correct level topline over well sprung ribs. Like her rear angles with a good bend of stifle. On the move she is true and free striding covering the ground with good drive. Caught my eye enough to award her the RCC
2nd Soper’s Canterbyred Miss Magic. Different in type, smaller with a nice shape. Lovely head of good shape with dark eyes. Good forequarters with well laid shoulders and straight front with enough bone. Level topline but her markings do not help her here. Well sprung ribs through to good rear angles. Moved true with reach and drive.
3rd Hawkins’ Rubethan Florentine of Aislingwood

Limit Bitch (2,0) Two very different Bs.

1st Burgess’ Settersay Scorcher via Tymaran Like the shape and outline of the 2yr old. Good breadth to skull and general head proportions but would prefer a darker eye. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders. Enough forechest, straight front and good feet. Level topline over well sprung ribs of good depth. Short loin through to very good rear with lovely width of ham and good angles. Moved true and steady with reach and drive.
2nd Hart’s Berryessa Ballderg with Gilliegrae 3yr B. So much to like about her. Very good head shape and proportions with lovely dark eyes. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders but lacks forechest. Well boned straight front, feet ok. Lovely spring and depth of rib, longer through the loin than I was looking for. Very well angled rear with length to second thigh. Not moving her best today. Good colour.

Open Bitch (4,0)

1st Sherratt & Blackwell Sherratt’s Sh Ch Alanea Holly Fern at Charnborough. Now 7 years old and was my best puppy last time I judged. Very type B who has fulfilled her potential. Super head shape with nice eyes. Lovely overall body shape with very well made forequarters, well laid shoulders, good forechest, good bone and feet. Well sprung ribs of good depth under a level topline and correct tail set. Steady easy mover with reach and drive. In a nice amount of coat and showing well. CC & BOS
2nd Barney’s Sh Ch Romaunt Carry On Regardless with Verrami. A 5yr B, different to my winner but lovely to go over, everything fits so well together. Well shaped head with dark eye and a slightly naughty glint in her eye. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders, good forechest, straight front with good bone and feet. Deep ribs well back to a short loin. Correct rear angles. Would like her red to be more defined. Another good mover but not as clean behind as my PG winner in the challenge.
