St Bernards

Firstly I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge at this years show and for all their hard work in making the show such a success and enjoyable day. Thank you also to the exhibitors for entering and allowing me to go over their beautiful dogs. St Bernards are my passion and it is a real pleasure and honour to judge this wonderful breed.

JD. 1. Lyons. Ms. L. Snowfordhill Nimrod. A large impressive young dog that I am sure still has got lots to come. Good ear set, a good stop with a pleasing expression. Lovely dark eye and good dentition. Good neck and bone with nice width of chest. This young male has a good topline which he holds on the move as well as on the stand. He has a good turn of stifle however at times stands giving the illusion of being a little straight behind. I am sure this will improve as he matures. Lovely free movement fore and aft and commanded the ring. Sure to have and excellent future. BD, BOB.

2. Butt. Mr. C. Bernmont Zamba. Another good example of the breed. A bit smaller in type than 1 and could quite easily reverse placings on another day as they mature on. Lovely head with a good stop. Moved freely holding his topline. Unlucky to come up against 1 today. RBD.

JB. 1. Drinkwater. Miss B. Pippanabbey Winter Wonderland at Lunorvi. A young bitch who at times was a little erratic on the move. Good stop and earset with good dentition. A very feminine benevolent expression. Once going moved on. I feel she needs to strengthen behind but she has time on her side. RBB

2. Alderson. Miss C. Cyronelle Dixie Princess at Branbar. A young bitch that unfortunately was a little unsettled today. Good eye and earset giving a lovely expression. Moved out well in the ring. I personally would prefer a little more bone but she has good angulation. A shame she was so unsettled today.

OB 1. Butt. Mr C. Bernmont Olympia. This 6 yr old bitch impressed me today. A short coupled bitch but all in proportion. Lovely head with good stop and expression. Good depth of chest, spring of rib and angulation. Although carrying a little extra weight she moved out around the ring with ease holding her topline. BB
