 Russian Black Terriers

Many thanks to WPBAS for their kind invitation to judge the breed at their show. Firstly I would like to thank the exhibitors for the sporting way in which they accepted my placings and I would like to congratulate them for having steady well balanced dogs of sound temperament who accepted handling readily. Even in this small number of dogs, I found some clever grooming, but owners need to be more aware of some structural issues, which good training and conditioning will help to address.

Puppy D/B (1)

1. Williams’, Evrussky Black Widow, almost 10 months old and a well built girl with a very pleasing outline. She has a head of good strength, with good parallels. Nice eye and well placed ears, good strength of muzzle and good pigmentation. Nice reach of neck, excellent topline, tailset was OK, angulations are balanced front and rear, she still needs to fill a little more in forechest. Excellent bone and coat developing nicely, moved well. Best Puppy.

Junior Dog/Bitch (1)

1.Kerrigan’s, Shadlian Good Gracious, almost 16 months old, this is a well grown male with good substance. He has a balanced head with a nice eye and good pigmentation. I would like him to have a shade more neck, he has a good topline and good set on of tail. Good coat and well presented and handled, I would like him to have a little more forechest, he has balanced angulation front and rear. He could be a little better coming and going and a shade more balanced in his side gait. Best Male.

Open Dog (1)

1. Blair’s, Blasius Beauty Anatolij, he is almost 2 years old, he is of good size and has an excellent temperament. He has a head of medium strength, a nice eye, well carried ears and good pigmentation. He has good bone, would like him to stand better in the front. He has enough neck, but I would prefer a better topline, this also shows on the move. He was presented in good coat and condition. Reserve Best Male.

Open Bitch (3)

1. Williams’, Proud of Being Catwoman at Evrussky, very pleasing type 2 years old, medium size with excellent substance. Nicely balanced head of good strength, nice eye, excellent pigment. Good reach of neck, good topline, well angulated front and rear. Nicely presented in good coat and condition. She was excellent coming and going and holds a nice shape on the move with a balanced sidegait. Best Female and Best of Breed.

2. Williams’, Proud of Being Ava Gardner at Evrussky, 5 years old, medium strength with feminine head. Nice eye, good pigment, could have a little more head furnishings today. Nice reach of neck, topline was a little soft today and the coat not in full bloom. I would prefer a shade more strength to the pasterns. She is nicely balanced in her angulations, was very well handled, good coming and going and balanced in her sidegait. Reserve Best Female.

3. O’Donnell’s, Kalaslane Revenge for Neukiebear.
