Breed: Parson Russell Terrier

Parson Russell Terriers

My first time awarding CC’s to the Parsons and I enjoyed the assignment. Thank you to the exhibitors for a decent entry and to my two ring stewards who were a delight.

Overall I felt that the breed is in ok shape. Enough good ones to make the competition interesting although today for me my dog CC winner and bitch CC winner stood away. There are some promising youngsters and given the veteran competition the breed clearly lasts.

A decent sort, has a typical look and won the class on her overall movement and better size. Nice headed girl.

2nd: HALL, Mrs B Frithgarth Stone Meadow

This one was a touch big for me. Super temperament, friendly and outgoing and showed well. Is a little straight in rear.

1st: NEWPORT, Mrs & Mr J & S Ch DIGADEN PITCH PERFECT

This one was very much the eye catcher in the class and I am not surprised to see that he has his title. Lovely type, super outline, so typical, in great condition. I liked his head proportions, body and ribbing. He is still competitive and continued to catch my eye in the dog challenge, which won him the Res CC.

2nd: HOBSON, Mr D Alncroft Isle See

This girl is a good type. Feminine, she has a good head, moved well and was in good condition.

On his own but could have coped with some competition. Handled well on the table, is of good type and has a lovely head. Presents a good outline on the move with correct tail set and carriage. Will need to firm up a little in movement as he matures.

Another one on his own who could have coped with some competition. He is a good type of dog, lovely size, good head and put on a steady performance. He is most definitely a junior at the moment and will need to firm up a bit and strengthen all over.

Handy sort, would prefer him a little more masculine. In hard condition and spanned well. Would prefer him a bit stronger behind.

Nice class. The first two took my eye on the way in and they were the two that I had to separate.

1st: HOBSON, Mr D Partridgdale Flynn

The more I looked at the winner the more I liked him particularly for type and overall proportions. Lovely head, good condition, sound enough mover.

2nd: LYNCH, Miss S Vixenview zorro

This one is undoubtably a show dog so he kept catching my eye. In equally good condition. Was a little shorter in leg than the winner which meant that the outline was not as typical as the winner.

1st: SMITH, Mrs K & SMITH, Misses J & A Ch Heythrop Task Master for Alncroft

This boy is such an eye catcher. He takes the eye as soon as he comes into the ring. There is no mistaking his breed or his quality. He is in super condition and extremely well presented. Lovely headed boy and stands on the best of feet. Perfect outline, perfect tail and carriage and moves well forward back and in profile. Is at the peak of his maturity. Stood away. CC, BOB and delighted to see he placed 4th in the group, which was well deserved

2nd: HADLEY, Miss Jane Int Ch Double barrels dreams to reality:

Another real showdog – a finer dog all through than the winner. He is a quality dog. He is a little untidy in front.

1st: ANDERSON, Mrs H Proveits Harlequin Flower

6 month baby so very raw but possessed a delightful temperament. Typy, lovely outline, good bone, good proportions. Lots of promise.

2nd: LEVITT, Mr Ian Proveits White Sally

Equally delightful temperament, not as well off for bone as the winner or as forward in attitude. Will be interesting to see her when more mature and developed.

1st: BROWN, Mrs Alexandra Julie & BROWN, Mr Mark Afinlea willow beauty

Showy, good head, lovely neck and shoulders, proportions quite nice, moved well, enough of her at this age for a bitch.

2nd: WOODS, Mrs Sue Glen & BOORMAN, Master Bobby UK / Vixenview Gypsy

When this one came in I thought she may be the winner. Plenty to like about her. Needs to strengthen behind.

1st: SMITH, Mrs K & SMITH, Misses J & A Alncroft Foxtrot

9 months so still a puppy. Super type with excellent outline and proportions with tail in the right place. In great condition. Feminine head which still needs a little development. Pleasing outline on the move with a beautiful rear. Needs to settle in front a little. Best puppy.

2nd: HOLLAND, Mrs Ashleigh Anne & HOLLAND, Mr Martin DRAMALEX SHE IS A BELTER

More mature than the winner, she is a good size with decent bone, not quite the showmanship or the drive of the winner.

3rd: NEWPORT, Mrs & Mr J & S DIGADEN MATCHMAKER

YB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: NEWPORT, Mrs & Mr J & S DIGADEN RUN WITH THE PACK

Great attitude, decent size, good expression, proportions correct, moved ok back and front.

2nd: EVANS, Mr Gareth & BARNES, Miss Laura Bellvalley's Kissed By Fire

This one was bang on for type, proportions and outline and had a lovely head. Unfortunately not too happy which was frustrating.

PGB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: HUGHES, Mrs A Ruffntuff Rush of Love

Won the class on overall type, decent size, good proportions, moved quite nicely, tail ok, a little reserved on the table.

1st: NEWPORT, Mrs & Mr J & S DIGADEN SPILL THE BEANS

Showy one who kept her eye on me and looked at me right. Good outline, proportions correct, very typical, adequate mover.

2nd: ANDERSON, Mrs H Malenkhia Miss Vanilla Ice at Proveits

Not really helping herself when standing, was better on the table, one of the better movers in the class which earned her the placing.

3rd: KANNAGARA, Miss S M Paringer She's A Queen

1st: DAYMAN, Miss Kate & COLE, Mr Simon Ch Pacolito Phinal Edition AW(S)

Caught my eye immediately as she was so correct in size, proportions outline and attitude. Never looked wrong, examined well on the table, feminine head but still workmanlike, super body and hard condition, moved well and had a good outline with correct tail and carriage. Was delighted to award her the CC and she looked well against the dog CC winner.

2nd: MANSON, Ms Drita Vixenview chip n pin

Showy and lots to like about her, good temperament, lovely head, good coat, condition and well muscled. Tail higher set than the winner which gave her a less typical outline in profile. Sound in all directions. Res CC
