East of England Ch Show

Field Spaniels

I thoroughly enjoyed judging the breed for the first time with CCs. Thank you for your sportsmanship & no absentees made it a lovely chance to go over some lovely dogs. Thanks too to my stewards who had the job of keeping me in order & making the ring go so smoothly. Sorry it was so hot for the dogs but at least with the in/out rings, all were able to get under cover. I will miss East of England but thank them for having the faith in me & giving me a chance to judge this charming breed.

MPD (0) PD (2) 1 Shipton’s Heartwood Mishules Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, just short of a year & very well developed for age, of a good size & outline, this docked dog held a good topline & had a good length of ribcage with a strong loin, would prefer a head not so heavy & hope he has finished growing but he has good body proportions & was a good mover, moved soundly & correctly up & back but certainly fitted the bill in profile movement with good head carriage, a nice type. BPD; 2 Harding’s Kingsmist Remember Me, just slightly older than 1 but not so developed. Has lots of potential as he moved well but needs time as he needs to body up & finish growing to complete the picture. I liked his head & expression & he has a good neck & shoulders, good topline & tailset, when he bodies up he will be firmer all through. Not quite sure at present but his confidence will grow & he has an interesting future ahead of him. JD (2) 1,2 repeat. PGD (2) 1 H M Goodbye Yellow Brick Road; 2 Webber’s Fecimus The Kings Troop at Trevoris, loved his head framed by well set & carried ears, lovely kind eye which gives that gentle expression. Not the balance of 1 & would prefer a better front angulation & at present inbetween coats but the coat he has is correct texture & he was well presented. He moved well up & back & has good profile movement really covering the ground well. LD (1) 1 Webber’s Fecimus Star Trooper at Trevoris, balanced dog who moved so well & with ease & good head carriage, well boned legs & feet, lovely head & expression, a good type who was alone but still a worthy winner as he is typical & balanced, in good coat & condition. OD (5) 1 Moss’ Sh Ch Fecimus Chase The Dream to Ewtor, he won a super class full of good Fields. He is an excellent well made specimen, he is so balanced & full of breed type, such a super mover on well boned legs & feet, masculine head & expression, good neck & shoulder placement, good strong topline, ribcage & loin with a well set & carried tail, he is well muscled with good hindquarters, all enabling him to cover the ground with ease & the correct movement, no dashing round the ring for him, he didn’t need to for he is correctly made. He is quality & was pleased to give him the CC & BOB & to watch him make the shortlist in such a star-studded group; 2 Holgate & Baumann’s Prince Arthur vom Belauer See at Nadavin, again an excellent example of the breed, he is balanced with a masculine head & lovely correctly shaped eye of a good colour, well set & carried ears, good neck & shoulders, again held a strong topline & a correctly carried tail, matched 1 for movement, in good coat & condition, lovely showdog who is full of breed type too. RCC; 3 Bennett’s Sh Ch Jesham Baronet. VD (0) Sp BD (0).

MPB (0) PB (1) 1 Holgate’s Nadavin Neala, how lucky am I to find another ‘yummy’ puppy. When a youngster comes into the ring & you turn round and she her standing there & you get goosebumps, you know you have come across something special. This black is absolute quality, I loved everything about her. The breed is not known for being early developers but she has everything I would want in the breed. She is so sound, even her movement was correct with no puppy wobbles at all! Loved her head & expression, so very feminine with a lovely eye of a good shape, excellent neck & shoulders, topline & tailset, well developed ribcage & even at such a young age, a strong loin which helped to hold her topline set up & moving. Enough coat but what she has is correct & put down to the minute. In strong competition I couldn’t help giving her the CC, something I have not often done with a puppy but she had such breed type & balance that I could not walk passed her.BPB & BP; JB (2) 1 N Neala; 2 James’ Kingsmist Golden Future for Bleiddiaid, litter sister to 2nd in PD as similar applies, this black needs body & to finish in head, again a lovely type who just need time for she has everything in the right place, good neck & shoulders, nice ribcage & body proportions, moved well up & back & looks correct in profile movement with good head carriage & well boned legs & feet, in good coat & condition. PGB (2) 1 Webber’s Fecimus Golden Opportunity for Trevoris, balanced liver with a lovely head & expression, enough coat which was well presented & correct in texture, she is so feminine in outlook & well proportioned, she moved well particularly in profile with the correct speed to enhance her feminity, nice neck & shoulders with a good topline & ribcage, strong loin & well set tail, put down in excellent condition; 2 K Golden Future for B. LB (5) 1 Barker’s Nadavin Yirki at Tumblebar, again a strong class with plenty to chose from, this lovely liver is so sound, moving & set up she is so balanced & I particularly liked her well muscled hindquarters & well set tail. Feminine head & expression with a good set on of neck & shoulders, good ribcage & strong loin giving an excellent topline & underline, lovely legs & feet, showed & moved so well to win here, again another by my RDCC. RBCC; 2 Holgate’s Nadavin Zahlee, no wonder I was drawn to her as she too is my Arthur, & again an excellent type & balanced, very close up but just hedged today on my preference to 1’s movement. Pretty head & expression, she is quality & in enough coat which was well presented & she is in excellent condition all through, I enjoyed seeing these two together, for I love their type & balance; 3 Webber’s Fecimus Country Roads to Trevoris. OB (3) 1 Holgate’s Sh Ch Nadavin Exclusive, another Arthur child! She is not a flashy bitch but so sound & full of breed type, this liver bitch has a feminine head with an excellent expression from well placed & set eyes, good ears which framed a correctly balanced head, good neck & shoulders, excellent topline & tailset, correct length of ribcage, well muscled hindquarters, moved soundly looking particularly good in profile, in good coat & condition; 2 Osborn’s Sh Ch Elgert Private Dancer, liver with a white flash on chest making her look very attractive, she is a pretty bitch, there is no mistaking her sex, she is a good size & very balanced with good body proportions, feminine head & expression, good neck & shoulders, strong topline & well set & carried tail, she moved soundly holding her topline using her strong loin to cover the ground with ease; 3 Harding’s Kingsmist Miss Marple. VB (1) 1 Osborn’s Sh Ch Elgert Lady Sta'dust, she doesn’t look old enough to be in this class, this pretty black girl was starting to feel the heat but she is so typical with good body proportions, very feminine in outlook with a lovely head & expression, she has well boned legs & feet & in excellent coat & condition, moved well & correctly with good head carriage, dam to 2nd in OB & is passing on her qualities too. BV. Special BB (0).
