SKC Ch Sh Oct 2023 – Judge: Nigel Worth

I would like to thank the officers and committee for their invitation to judge at their show. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and I was very pleased with the quality of my entries, especially my main winners. Thank you to my stewards for keeping the ring flowing efficiently and exhibitors for their entries and the generous way they accepted my decisions.

English Springers

Puppy Dog (2,0)

1st: Havard’s Annavah Accomplice. Well made puppy with pleasing head and expression. Balanced outline. Body developing nicely, deep chest. Good length to neck, well made front and rear. Moved well. Shown in good coat. Best Puppy in breed.

2nd: Stevenson’s Peasblosom Brogan at Gaolachcara. Another nice puppy who just needs time to develop.Typical head and expression. Strong neck, straight front.falls away a little over croup. Good bone and feet. Moved well enough .

Junior Dog (1,0)

1st: Such’s Carlyquinn Captain Ross at Mujascal JW. A well made dog who could do with losing a little weight. Typical head and expression. Strong neck, well made front and shoulders, well ribbed with depth to chest. Plenty of forechest. Good rear action with plenty of drive , strong topline on the move.

Yearling Dog (2,1)

1st: Wilson’s Pinereoch No Stunts Larrie. Well balanced dog with good rib and length to height proportions. Strong neck, correct topline when stood and on the move. well made front and back enabling to move correctly with reach and drive.

Limit Dog (2,0)

1st: Topliss’ Sandylands Stand N Deliver. Stylish dog shown in excellent coat and condition. Typical head and expression good length to neck set into well made shoulders. Straight front. Well made body, correct rib with good depth. Strong rear. Liked his length to height ratio making him very well balanced throughout. Strong topline which he kept on the move. Moved with real reach and drive effortlessly . CC and BOB.

2nd: Ganarin’s Berkenbar Giovanni. Very nice type with a lot to like. A little overweight and did not move so well today.

Open Dog (5,2)

1st: Topliss’ Sh Ch Beresford Night Train. These top 2 dogs could change places on another day. Well made throughout . another with a typical head and expression, balanced outline, well made front and rear, strong topline and shown in excellent coat and condition. Just felt that today this dog had the more positive front action. Res CC.

2nd: Eyeington & Eyeington’s Sh Ch Meadowdale Daisydale Lightening Bolt. A very striking dog who is immaculately presented. Similar comments apply. Very close call between these 2. Not difficult to see why they both have their titles. I could happily awarded 3 CCs today.

3rd: Rose’s Westerway Dream Angus of Rosannoch (Imp Nor)

Veteran Dog (1,0)

1st: Such’s Trimere Ticks The Box at Wujascal ShCM. Stood alone but worthy winner. Liked his outline when stood, masculine head, plenty of bone. A little unsettled on the move today. Shown in excellent coat and condition. Best veteran in breed.

Puppy Bitch (3,1)

1st: Ritchie’s Kittlegairy Still Game. Liked her for type. Maturing nicely. feminine head and expression. Good length to neck, well made shoulders. Nice bone and feet. Balanced throughout with enough rear angulation. Needs to settle on the move.

2nd: Tolladay & Tolladay’s Calvdale Half A Story Bethersden, different type to winner but has plenty to offer and has time on her side. Did not move well today.

Junior Bitch (2,1)

1st: Smith’s Melverly Iridescent. Although she stood alone in this class she really caught my eye. A lovely bitch to go over. Loved her outline and balance. Correct spring and depth to rib.Correct angulation front and back. Solid topline when stood and moving. Feminine head and expression, good reach of neck. Compact with excellent bone and feet. Moved exceptionally well and although still maturing could not be denied the CC today.

Yearling Bitch (5,2)

1st: Rose’s Pinereoch Amethyst of Rosannoch. Another with a very balanced outline. Lovely reach of neck, well made shoulders, good depth to chest. Plenty of rear angulation. moved well.

2nd: Unwin’s Allenies Lady Marmalade. Not quite the balance of winner. Pleasing head and expression. Good reach of neck, well placed shoulders. Correct topline. Enough rear angulation. Wou;d have liked to see more positive movement.

Limit Bitch (3,0)

1st: Topliss’ Sandylands Send My Love. Loved her outline and overall balance. Feminine head and expression. Strong neck, well made shoulders, strong topline which she holds well on the move. Lovley spring of rib, good bone and feet. Well angled rear. Moved with reach and drive. Close call in challenge. Res CC today

2nd: Corbett’s Trimere Turn Back Time. Another lovely bitch. I m sure her and my winner will change places many times. Similar comments apply. Just thought my winner had the edge on coat and maturity today. Moved soundly.

3rd: Wilson & Connor’s Potrail Turns The Swag On For Pinereoch

Open Bitch (4,2)

1st: Corbett’s Sh Ch Trimere Time Fly’s. Another bitch from the top drawer. Easy to see why she has her title and pushed my main winners really hard.

2nd: Casey & Jayes’ Sh Ch Sandylands Send The Roses. Unlucky to meet winner in such good form. Another from the top drawer. In fact I was spoilt for choice with at least 4 of my top winners capable of winning the CC on another day.

Veteran Bitch (1,0)

1st: Watson’s Sh Ch Bordacity Honey Ryder. Well made feminine bitch who was certainly enjoying her day out, nicely balanced, well bodied and in good coat. sound back and front. Moved well.

Special Beginners Bitch (1,0)

1st: Unwin’s Allenies Lady Marmalade. 2ndin yearling. Best Special beginners in Breed
