I would like to start by apologising for the delay in submitting critiques. Due to recent ill health issues, certain things have had to be put on a back burner.
Thank you to the committee for the invitation, and to the exhibitors for your entry. Temperament as always was superb. From the entry today, I cannot see any faults creeping in.
Veteran D/B (3,1a)
1st Douglas & Douglas (Handled by Parker) Taronakits Krackerjack of Troystar. Coming up for 11 years of age and not showing it at all. This gent has a well-balanced profile showing good ratios. Excelled in head shape with a lovely skull to muzzle ratio. Good bite and has correct eye shape and colour. Ears set well. Has a good neck into a lovely front. Correct feet and good for bone. Correct shoulder and a good depth of chest. Lovely length of back, good rib, nice loin. Hindquarters are correct showing a lovely well-muscled rear and good stifle. Tail set well, carried correct at all times. Coat in excellent condition showing good texture. Excelled on the move, once again belying his age. Moves out well showing a real drive from the back. RBD, BV and lovely to see him go VG4.
2nd Young’s Furzeland Devon Blaze avec Cocosamel. 8-year-old dog showing a slightly smaller frame than 1. The length of leg at the front compared to the depth of chest throws off the profile in comparison to 1. He has a good shape head with a good muzzle. Good bite. Nice shape to eye, ears set well. Good neck into a well-placed shoulder, would like a bit more depth of chest to bring that profile together. He has a lovely length of back, good loin, tail set well. Rear angles are nice with good muscle. Coat in very good condition as always from this exhibitor. Moved out well showing correct drive.
