Deerhound

I was called in as a replacement judge when the American judge pulled out.

I have not judged Deerhounds since 2017 @ LKA, when reluctantly I chose to withhold CC’s

Whilst the entry was again numerically small, there was sufficient quality to be able to award CC’s

1 McPherson & Paterson. Antonius Vertragus The-Ngong-Hills (Imp Fra) 8 mths Grey/Brindle BP & Hound Puppy Group 2 

Raw youngster showing lots of promise, liked his head, dark eye & expression, has neat ears, good length of neck, pleases in forehand & hind angulation, has good length of leg & body proportions, sound in movement with an easy free flowing stride.

1 Pounder. Zeldini Link. 13mths Grey/Brindle

Typy youngster coming along nicely, pleases in outline, liked his head, eye, jaw, ears, good length of neck, tuck-up & drooping quarters, good length of leg with slight give in pastern, carries a ragged coat, free & easy movement.

1 Dorking. These Pure Skies. 21mths Grey/Brindle

Liked this youngsters head, muzzle, keen expression, pleasing outline of balanced proportions, soundly made, good bone, carries a ragged coat, free flowing movement, at present a little close moving away.

1 Shannon. Packway Downlander At Erewhon almost 3yr Grey Res CC

Pleases in head,eyes, ears, good length of neck, well constructed with balanced outline of good proportions, good length of leg, easy free movement, ragged coat.

2 Taylor. Cotherstone Dalmore almost 6yr Grey/Brindle

Lots to like, shapely outline, masculine headpiece/expression, strong neck, deep brisket, strong loin, drooping quarters, well muscled, ragged coat, rather a handful for the young handler.

Pleases in head/expression, Powerful, well muscled body of good proportions, shapely outline, keen expression, lengthy strong neck, deep brisket & good tuck-up, powerful drooping hindquarters, ragged coat, easy free striding movement.

Lovely head/expression, well developed body with deep brisket, holds a very shapely outline, good tuck-up & rise over loin to drooping hindquarters, good leg length, sound in movement, excellent ragged coat.

2 Pounder. Packway New York New York 2yr Grey

Lighter in frame than 1, attractive head/expression, balanced angulation, good leg length, sound easy mover, ragged coat, preferred the outline of 1.

3 Lindsay. Leoch Oransay At Silverthyme

1 Cannon. Kilbourne Opal’s Fire To Abayomi. 20mth Grey. CC & BOB

Lovely youngster who is still developing, holds a super outline, lovely head/expression, neat ears, long crested neck, excellent angulation in both forehand & hindquarters, good bone & feet, crisp ragged coat, gained this award on her light free striding, effortless movement, best is yet to come.

2 Constantine. Kwaricott Kaleginy Bettinsoli 3yr Grey

Well developed, more compact in outline than1, pleases in head/expression, would prefer neater ears, good length of neck, excellent depth of brisket with tuck-up, muscular drooping hindquarters, sound in movement, ragged coat.

Attractive head/dark eye,neat ears, good angulation in fore & hind quarters, thick ragged coat with mane on lengthy neck, good bone/feet, sound easy mover.

2 Constantine. Cotherstone Serenade At Kaleginy 5yr Grey/Brindle.

Attractively headed with neat ears, strong lengthy neck, good bone/feet, good depth of brisket, would like more tuck-up, movement was sound, ragged coat, preferred the outline of 1.
