Toy Group

I would like to thank the officers and committee of South Wales Kennel Association for their hospitality and for giving me the opportunity to judge the Toy Group at their show and to all the breed judges who sent forward excellent breed types for a very strong Toy group. I short listed for further consideration .The Bichon, Maltese, Chinese Crested, Miniature Pinscher, Japanese Chin, King Charles Spaniel, Lowchen, Pekingese and Pug.

Group 1 Ch/am Ch Holdsway Lion King (imp), Breed: Bichon Frise (Mr M & Mr P & Mr S W Coad & Sanghoon Lee & Nam) A pleasure to go over this male in first class condition, very well made with excellent muscle tone, good proportioned head carried proudly, pigmentation good, masculine without being coarse, large round dark eyes, good pigment and halos, good clean correct dentition, slightly arched neck ,deep brisket and well sprung ribs, broad thighs with well bent stifles, scored strongly in conformation and movement, quality coat of fine silky texture. Moved around the ring like he owned it and with style. Lovely temperament and presented in first class sparkling condition.

Group 2 Ch Delcost Centrefold, Breed: Maltese (Miss N & Mrs C R Welbourn & Gillies) A beautiful example of the breed and a credit to the owner. Smart and well balanced, super balanced head and no exaggeration, dark oval eyes with good halos, excellent pigment, correct strong jaw with correct dentition, neck of medium length, well sloped shoulders and good spring of rib, short coupled loin, good rear angulation, excellent silky textured straight coat and excellent presentation , moved well with free flowing style.

Group 3 Ch Habiba Hold My Purse, Breed: Chinese Crested (Mr R Dunlop) I have previously awarded this bitch top honours more than once and she continued to show real showmanship in the ring again today. Lovely refined exhibit with the softest of skin with enough crest to set off the picture standing and moving, dark almond shape eyes giving lovely expression. Correct head and skull, good clean correct dentition, correct ear set and carriage, well laid-back shoulders moderate tuck up, correct hare footed, good tail set and carriage, loins taut and good firm long sweeping stifle, with level top line lovely graceful movement.

Group 4 Krieger’s Kiss’n’tell, Breed: Miniature Pinscher (Miss R Stracey) Beautiful Female with the most beautiful outline, balanced, elegant but sturdy and compact. Well-proportioned head and skull, Correct eye shape, small well set ears, plenty of underjaw with a strong mouth, good fill under the eyes and strength of foreface with balanced skull - all leading to super head and expression. Correct coat texture and well-marked -correct feet, well sprung ribs, type good tail set and carriage a excellent little showgirl. Moved with correct action, super example of the breed
