1ST Plainfire's Quintessential Greenbayhill (Imp Che) (Mr R Douglas): An extremely well balanced dog and of nearly 8 years of age and of good proportions. He presented with a good head, clean, correct and complete dentition, deep chest with good width, well ribbed into strong loin, on the move he started in an erratic manner but soon changed when settled to accurate and completely sound movement. Best Veteran and I was pleased to learn that he was later awarded Veteran Group 4.


2ND Stranfaer Get over It JW (Mr D & Mrs K Joyce): A male of 7 years of age. A well balanced dog who is now fully mature and looked an absolute picture. Good head with the kindest of expressions. Correct and complete dentition. Very good feet with short nails. Strong hindquarters, moved soundly.

Correct, clean and complete dentition. Clean through his neck into correct lay of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Strong hindquarters, excellent bone and feet. Handled very well to take the class and later BPD

1ST Ronevorg Firefly Fantasy (Mrs J & Miss M Campbell & Brown): A very young Junior Dog of 13 months of age. Presented a very clean outline, good head and expression, correct, clean and complete dentition, well placed shoulders, moderately angulated hindquarters, good quality bone all through and neat feet, moved accurately in all planes.


2ND Lux/slov Ch Angel Undercover Take A Chance On Me (Mrs Cd & Mrs Pe Delattre & Errera): Really liked this young dog – 13 months of age - a close decision between first and second. Nicely made boy all through, good head and expression, well placed ears, correct, clean and complete dentition, clean neck into good forehand assembly, presented a lovely outline, moved well just needs to go up a gear as he was little laid back when showing himself.

1ST Bochilbarley Goblet of Fire JW (Mrs P & Miss A Bellamy): I really liked this dog and considered him in the Challenge. He is the correct size with very good overall balance. Good head shape with dark eye and neat ears. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Excellent layback of shoulder and return of upper arm. He has a good depth of brisket and is well ribbed back into a short, square loin. His hindquarters are strong and muscular. Quality bone and very good of feet. On the move he was accurate both fore and aft holding a firm level topline.


2ND Stranfaer The One That Got Away (Mrs S Thurston): A young dog of 13 months of age. Of very nice type and presented well, pleasing head and expression, good eye, correct, clean and complete dentition, very good bone and feet, clean neck into well placed shoulders, good width and depth to chest, moderate hind angulation, moved well when handled with a more experienced handler – we have all started showing at some point.

1ST Moity Havoc (Mrs C.s. Vanderstegen-Drake): A very special young dog who for me presented in lovely condition, of correct size and very good type. Excellent overall balance. Typical head with dark eye and soft expression. Correct, clean and complete dentition, Small well set ears leading to clean neck and well laid shoulder. Good depth of chest with gradual spring of rib. Strong well made hindquarters with well let down hocks. Excellent bone and feet. Moved freely - accurate fore and aft and with good length of stride when viewed in profile, being ultra critical, could have been moved at a marginally faster pace.

1ST Hightyne Unforgettable at Braemist (Miss L S Jones): A super quality dog who is extremely well balanced and still not fully mature yet. Of correct overall proportions. Excellent head and expression. Correct, clean and complete dentition Well laid back shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Good width and depth to chest. He has the correct depth of brisket and his rib/loin proportions are exactly as the breed standard calls for. Strong topline leading through to correct tailset. Excellent bone and feet. Today he moved with drive and purpose and accurately. My absolute pleasure to award him the Reserve Challenge Certificate today.

2ND Simon Says Run Forrest, Run! (Mrs Jonna Vassbotn): A dog of nearly 2½ years of age. Presented and shown very well. Very good head and eye, correct, clean and complete dentition, strong neck and good forehand assembly, good depth to brisket, which could have had a little more width, strong level back, hindquarters that were well muscled including prominent second thigh, more angulated that would have been my preference. Moved sound and accurately.

1ST Ch Lussac Winter Wizard JW Swgc ShCEx OSW (Mrs M & Mr I Trotter): A dog of 4½ years of age who looked supreme on the day. Presented with not a hair our of place and a credit to his owner for such detail in presentation. He has a as great presence when both entering the ring and when standing. He is also of the correct size for me and well balanced all through. He has a correctly proportioned head with dark eye and soft expression. Dentition correct, clean and complete. Strong neck leading to correct lay of shoulder and good length and return of upperarm. Deep through the brisket, which is also of very good width and well ribbed back with short, square loin. Strong muscular hindquarters with quality bone and tight feet. Moved accurately fore and aft and in all planes, then drove on around the ring on a good length of stride at the correct speed for his gait. His handler worked well to get the best out of him. My complete pleasure to aware him the Dog Challenge Certificate and later Best of Breed.


2ND Sh Ch Deringwood English Oak (Mr M B & Mrs R Macdonald): A dog of just over 6 years of age. Another that was presented and shown extremely well. He is the correct size with very good overall balance. Good head shape with dark eye and neat ears. Excellent layback of shoulder and return of upper arm. He has a good width and depth of brisket, his loin is of optimum length for me . His hindquarters are strong and muscular with good width of second thigh. Quality bone and very good feet. On the move he was accurate both fore and aft and displayed a good open side gait.

A very workmanlike bitch of the correct size and good overall balance. Good head. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Clean through neck. Correct forehand assembly. Excellent topline into strong loin and well muscled and moderate hindquarters. Super bone and feet. Moved out very well.

Correctly shaped head with dark eye and correct, clean and complete dentition. Well placed shoulders, good depth of brisket for her age. Level topline. Well made hindquarters. Moved steadily, once settled. 


2ND Lunarmists Autumnal Glow (Miss H Hudson): An extremely raw young lady of just 8 months of age. Beautiful head and correct eye with correct, clean and complete dentition. Clean neck into well placed shoulders, good bone and feet with nails that could have been shorter. Devoid of her coat on the day. Moderate hindquarters. I got the impression that she didn’t fully understand what was expected of her whilst being shown. A pretty and feminine young lady.

A well balanced bitch of good proportions, although at this tender and raw age she appears slightly longer cast than would be my preference. Lovely head and soft expression, clean, correct and complete dentition, neck of moderate length into well placed shoulders, good bone and feet presented in excellent condition, moved very well. BP

1ST Stranfaer One Fell Swoop (Mr D & Mrs K Joyce): A bitch of 13 months of age, presented and shown to the highest of standards. Beautifully balanced all through. Correctly proportioned head with dark eye and strong muzzle. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Clean through her neck into well laid shoulder and correct return of upper arm. She has a good depth of brisket and is well ribbed back into a short, strong loin. Her hindquarters are well muscled and her hocks well let down. Quality bone and the very best of feet. She was presented to me in gleaming coat and condition and moved out with reach and drive. In awarding her the Bitch Challenge Certificate, I surprised myself given her age but was true to myself and rewarded what in my opinion is a beautiful Flatcoated Retriever. A truly lovely bitch. 

 

2ND Glenturret Gypsy Tart (Mr A F, Mr M & Mrs C J Durrant): A bitch of 14 months of age. Another very pleasing bitch who is well made throughout. Pleasing head and expression. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Good shoulder and return of upper arm. Well ribbed back. Strong hindquarters. Excellent bone and feet. Scores in movement, covering the ground with great reach and drive.

So beautifully balanced, free from exaggeration and exceptionally well presented and shown. Of correct size. She is very sound and workmanlike. Beautifully feminine head and expression and lovely dark eye. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Correct shoulder placement, which leads though to level topline, strong loin and correct tailset. Good depth to brisket. Excellent bone all through and tight feet. Moved and handled extremely well.


2ND 786 - Woodavens Frozen Flame (Miss D Warrington): A bitch that is of the correct size and balanced, with very good head and expression. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Well-made forequarters with elbows close to brisket. Level topline. Well-muscled hindquarters with good bone and feet. Moved well and soundly.

2ND Moontorn Better Half of Me JW (Miss A Bellamy): A very nice bitch of just over 2½ years of age. This bitch is very well balanced and is of the correct size for me and is very workmanlike as the standard calls for. She has a lovely correct head, eye and expression. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Good forehand construction. Strong loin. Level topline which was maintained on the move. Good bone and tight feet. Moved and shown extremely well. She needs time to mature.

1ST Manteauplat Black Pippin (Mrs A-C Milton): A bitch of 5 years of age – what a quality bitch she is. She was extremely close to be awarded the bitch Challenge Certificate. I find her difficult to fault without being ultra ‘picky’, which she does not deserve. She has a beautiful typical head, melting expression and correct eye. Correct, clean and complete dentition. She has a superb forehand assembly. Very good width and depth of brisket. On the move she was completely at one with her handler. She maintained a level topline at all times, has a correct ribcage and short loin leading through to well muscled hindquarters. Excellent bone and feet. My absolute pleasure to award this bitch an extremely worthy Reserve Challenge Certificate.


2ND Pajanbeck I Have A Dream by Draketor (Mr F W J & Mrs L D Cooves): A 3½ year old bitch. There is much to like about this bitch as she is very sound and well constructed all through. She is not flashy in any way; but instead a very honest bitch. Good head shape, correct, clean and complete dentition, very clean through neck into good lay of shoulder and correct return of upperarm. Deep brisket with well sprung ribs. Strong hindquarters. Quality bone. Feet were neat and tight. Moved out well.

Correct, clean and complete dentition. Correct layback of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Good topline and strong hindquarters. Her movement was both accurate and true.


2ND Llantrussa O'sole Mio (Mrs L & Mrs C Nicholls & Price): A very classical bitch of 2½ years of age, who presented a pleasing picture standing. She is extremely well balanced and workmanlike. She is of the correct size and proportions throughout A head that I cannot fault, kind eye, correct, clean and complete dentition. Very good layback of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Correct depth and width of chest with elbows tight to her brisket. Well sprung ribcage to a correct short and strong loin. Shown, handled and moved very well.

Loin of optimum length for me. Strong well-muscled hindquarters. Moved and handled very well. 


2ND Simon Says Home to The Castle (Imp Nor) (Miss J Flynn): Very feminine bitch of just over 6 years of age, presented and shown to the very highest of standards. Longer cast than winner and therefore not quite her overall balance. Good, extremely feminine head and expression. Correct, clean and complete dentition. Clean neck into good lay of shoulder and return of upperarm. Strong hindquarters. Not quite the drive of winner on the move but handled extremely competently nonetheless.
