City Of Birmingham Canine Association

Breed: Lowchen (Little Lion Dog)

LOWCHEN ( Little Lion Dog)

My thanks to the City of Birmingham for the invitation to judge the breed I love, and to all the exhibitors who entered under me. Plus my two excellent stewards for all their hard work.

Special beginners Dog. (2, 1abs) 1. Reynolds Hollinsclose One Love. Black and cream very immature beautifully presented. Good head and dark eye, very nice neck and topline. A little too tall for me, but square, moved well with his owner. Best Special Beginner. Puppy Dog (1) 1. Brown’s Broevans The Hero Stands Out. Really liked this puppy, very mature, lovely head with correct stop, flat skull between the ears which were set correctly. Good mouth and bite, well carried neck, and right size for me, with short body and strong loin. Unfortunately did not show so well in the challenge. Junior Dog (1) Morgan-Stanley’s Golbourne Oh So Posh Cream with a big coat beautifully presented. Broad head, with good dark round eyes, correct ear placement, well arched neck, well laid shoulder, good front. Short body with good rear, well muscled. Didn’t like the floor much unfortunately but did enough to win RCC and BPIB. Post Grad Dog.. (4, 1abs) Reynolds Hollinsclose One Love. 2. Sproul & Coburn’s Sharlarna Ralph Lauren For Khandro. Cream with a good coat and nice head. Front movement not to my liking. 3. Chapman’s Bigglesmere Jus A Sily Faze Amond Rishkhan (AI) Limit Dog (6) Bicknell/Marren’s Charles Noblesa Aura Imp Cze First Tia. Black and silver, slightly longer than I prefer, but won this class on his lovely head, with super dark eye with correct placement. Correct neck, well arched, good shoulders. Correct tail set and carriage. Moved well. 2. Richardson’s Hollinsclose’s Shotgun. Black and white, also a bit long for me, and needed a bit more body for my taste. Nice head, but would have preferred a slightly bigger eye although placed correctly. Moved well and easily placed second in this class. 3. Sampson’s Hollinsclose You And Me At Quintrix (AI) Open Dog (3) 1. Brown’s Broevans Let The Hero Shine. Aptly named black and silver, upstanding and beautifully presented. Loved his shape and his head was stunning. Short muzzle, flat skull, well defined stop. Head carried proudly and he literally screamed look at me! Good dark, round eyes, good mouth, correct pigment. Lovely neck and shoulder placement, correct front with round bone. Lovely well sprung rib, short body and strong loin with correct tuck up. Well muscled rear, which enabled him to move beautifully and cover the ground well. Moved with style and happy to award him the DCC, BOB. His 3rd and crowning CC today apparently. 2. Richardson’s (Handling for Partanen) Hollinsclose Norsk Ch Sw Ch Wanted A Jolly Good. Another I really liked, pushed hard for the class but just not the showmanship of 1st. Nice short body, with correctly shaped head, and dark eyes with lovely expression. Moved well but not as showy as first. 3. Sproul & Coburn’s Lansilk’s Star Love For Khandro. Good Citizen Dog. (1) McFarlane’s Kerryken Keir Rob. One I have judged before, nice size, with a slightly longer muzzle than I prefer, nice eye and good front. Very happy. Special Beginners Bitch (1) Malowney’s Prodigieux Gilda Very immature black and white, unfortunately held her tail down for much of the time. Needs time to mature. Junior Bitch (2, 1abs) Morgan-Stanley’s Golbourne Izzadorable. Pretty girl, with nicely shaped head, slightly longer in muzzle than I prefer, good dark eye correctly place, sweet expression. Moved well. Post Grad Bitch. (1) 1 Sampson’s Bigglesmere I’m No In Love With Quintrix. Silver and cream with lovely outline. Correct head with lovely eye and expression. Good front and rear movement, just needed a bit more umph. Limit Bitch. (1) 1. Godson’s Lansilk Lots of Love. Aanother aptly named black and silver, fell in love with this pretty girl. Lovely size and shape in outline and didn’t let herself down on the table. Lovely head, with beautiful eyes dark and well placed. Super body with well sprung rib, good rear well muscled and showed in her movement. Handled on the move by owner’s daughter and didn’t get the best out of her, as very excitable but loved her please to award her BCC,making her a Champion. Open Bitch (2) 1. Richardson’s Hollinsclose Adore You. Tricolour of nice size and shape, good outline. Head correct with good stop and strong muzzle, but very feminine. Nicely placed shoulder, good front and rear movement. RCC. 2. Godfrey & Peacock’s Cleeview Unlocked Spirit In Godpeakiki. Black and silver, with a pretty head and nice expression. Unfortunately didn’t show herself to her best ability.
