I would like to thank all the exhibitors for their entry at Birmingham National, it was very much appreciated. There were some really hard choices to be made today, all the dogs were presented in excellent condition and are a credit to you all. Conditions in the hall were not the best acoustically and this unsettled some of the dogs. Thank you to my very efficient ring stewards.

1st: WILLIAMS-WEGMANN, Mrs V F D & WEGMANN, Mr Henry Talanors Typically Trouble for Essvana (NAF)(TAF). A young puppy at just 6 ½ months and still gaining his show feet. He has a well balanced head, everything is in proportion framed by a lovely ear carriage, they are correctly set and carried well, he certainly used them to his advantage. He stands well, from front angle he is straight and his rear is complimented with good muscle for his age, well bent stifle and strong hocks. Markings were good. He is developing well. Best Puppy in Breed.

1st: BROADHURST, Mrs Lynn Eaglespur Dutch Showman
A handsome 16 month old dog, who looks stunning in profile. He paced at times but this was recognised and corrected by his handler. He has a perfect ear carriage and a dark eye which further adds to his masculinity. A very pleasing overall picture for such a young dog, he is still developing and would like to see his chest drop a little more. Straighter in stifle when in the challenge but pushed really hard for the res CC. I think he will do well as he further matures.
2nd:GRAY, Mr D & TRAVIS, Mr Wayne Clanmarshal Edwardian Star
A stronger more muscular dog than the 1st, he is balanced and was very well handled. Markings were as per the breed standard. His ears appeared unsettled today which may not have been helped by the venue.

This was a hard class with 2 very different types of dog.
1st: GOODWIN, Mrs Jane & GOODWIN, Mr Andrew X-pected Dine Mites Doc Holiday at Holtaire (Imp N 2 year old dog, you could see as soon as he entered the ring with his handler that this dog has excellent drive, he kept showing all the time. Handled to perfection, calmly with sensitivity the handler worked hard to show the dog off to the best advantage. Lovely head with good ear carriage, using his ears well. Well laid shoulders giving a balanced impression from the front, strong muscular action from the rear where this was reflected in excellent movement, he was not pulling but moving with enough drive to set him apart from 2nd. Res Dog CC.
2nd: O'NEILL, Mrs Beverly Megellan Artemis Argentis
A muscular 5 year old dog, more substantial and not as compact as the 1st. He remained well proportioned and balanced. Good head and ear carriage and a dark eye giving an overall keen expression. Strong in forequarters, but unsettled on the move and would have preferred more drive.
Open Dog (4 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: BARLOW, Mrs Doreen Ch Talanors Time For Magic – CC
A compact dog, all in proportion and balanced. Excellent shoulder, straight front and deep chest giving a perfect profile image. Lovely head, with correct dark eye and ear carriage. His correct balanced head is something that should be strived for, he has a lot to offer the breed. Well balanced hindquarters and well bent stifle resulting in perfect movement, the interaction with his handler resulted in him being shown to perfection with drive and showmanship. Pleased to award him the CC and BOB.
2nd:KNIGHT, Mrs Gillian & KNIGHT, Mr Clive Ch Talanors Typically Elite. Slightly heavier dog than 1 but all in proportion and well balanced. Lovely ear carriage framing a correct shape head and skull. He used his ears really well and gave an overall impression of soundness and balanced. He is well marked and was well handled. Sadly his movement did not do him justice today, maybe this was due to the venue, which again unsettled a fair few of the dogs today.

7 ½ year old dog not showing any signs of being a veteran. He is sound and with substance, well marked, good ear carriage and moved well. He was well handled
2nd: HEBB, mrs Ann & HEBB, mr David & HEBB, MR DAVID PAUCELIN FALSTER JW
Handsome showman with well set and carried ears. Dark eye, correctly set and adding to his overall picture. Lovely markings although slightly faded now as expected as an older veteran. Good front movement but rear movement could have been better, preferred that of 1.

1st: PLANT, Mrs L J SPRING WREN AT PLANTOCRACY
8 month old female who was a little unsettled today, not helped by the acoustics of the venue. Good temperament shone through, she is friendly and playful which is perfectly acceptable at such a young age. Feminine head with good correct ear carriage. Good front and hind quarters with a well bent stifle, this resulted in good movement once settled. Shown in excellent condition. Although stood alone in this class went on to be Best Puppy Bitch. Pushed hard for Best Puppy in Breed which was my second hardest decision of the day.

1st: OBOYLE, Mrs S Plantocracy Goddess gloria
Just coming up to 12 months, this girl was unsettled today and I would have liked to have a better chance of going over her. Good dentition and lovely almond shaped dark eye. Ears unsettled but sensitively handled and encouraged by her handler. Hard to assess movement.
Junior Bitch (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: SHARPE, Mrs V & SHARPE, Miss Laura Rosettia Keepsake
17 month old female. I have written “what a lovely girl” she is maturing very nicely and a credit to her breeder. Lovely markings and of pleasing outline, she has substance and excellent breed points throughout. She has a straight front with a deep chest, she is in excellent condition. She would have pushed hard for a CC today but lost out due to movement, which again was not helped with many of the dogs due to the acoustics of the venue. She is one to watch for the future as I am sure she will do well.
2nd: OBOYLE, Mrs S Rattustrap Happy To Be Here At Ruffagga
A lovely girl just coming up to 18 months now, she is brimming with confidence and with pleasing character. Her thumbprints could be a little darker and her chest markings are fairly substantial . She is of fine bone and very feminine. When stood, overall shows a good outline and still maturing. Movement was a little erratic at times, but responded well to her handler to settle and walk with drive, although front movement a little high stepped.
Yearling Bitch (4 Entries) Abs: 0
This was a very hard class, 4 girls of excellent quality making the choice very difficult.
1st: LOMAS, Miss Catherine Hurrockheath Miss Emmeline
A well constructed, sound and balanced female, just over 18 months now. Her front is straight and her chest is deep, her forelegs are set well giving an overall pleasing appearance. Held her topline well on movement with enough rise over the loin to reflect a pleasing outline in profile. Her rear is balanced by a well bent stifle and enough muscle to complete the picture. Ears are carried a little lower but are in good position, she has a good almond shaped eye and an excellent coat to complete the overall picture. Moved well with drive.
2nd:WALSHAW, Mr M & WALSHAW, Mrs J Kentwone Lyra at Janmark JW
Heavier than 1 in construction, balanced in front and hind quarters resulting in good movement with drive. Good ear carriage and keen expression from a dark almond shaped eye. Having what appears to be a phantom pregnancy that just affected her outline and lost out to 1 on her topline
3rd: SPAIN, Mrs A & SPAIN, Mr L Nespoli You Are My Sunshine
Res: OBOYLE, Mrs S Rattustrap Happy To Be Here At Ruffagga
Post Graduate Bitch (3 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: O'NEILL, Mrs Beverly Magicus Silvestris Sweet Bonnie
A balanced female. Her front is straight and her chest is deep, her forelegs are set well with a good reach of neck giving an overall pleasing appearance. Held her topline, with enough rise over the loin to reflect a pleasing outline on movement. However not stood at her best on standing which did not do her justice. A well bent stifle and enough muscle. Ears are carried as per the breed standard and she has a good almond shaped eye to complete the overall picture.
2nd: OBOYLE, Mrs S Plantocracy Harmione
Feminine bitch, good markings, heavier in chest than 1st and slightly longer in body. Good rear angulation and another unsettled by the noisy atmosphere of this hall. Correct tail set on standing and on movement. Overall movement not at its best today.

Open Bitch (8 Entries) Abs: 1
A hard class full of top quality girls, all worthy of a first place. Thank you for accepting my decisions.
The decision was made harder due to the noise coming from the other hall which unsettled most of the girls.
1st: WALSHAW, Mr M & WALSHAW, Mrs J Janmark Jaunty
3 year old girl, Lovely correct ear set, dark almond shape eye. Overall balanced head and profile. Strengths of this girl are in her front, her well bent stifle and she had the best movement in the class.
Pleased to award her Bitch CC, and even more pleased to hear this was her third.
2nd: KNIGHT, Mrs Gillian & KNIGHT, Mr Clive Ch Talanors Typically Special
6 year old girl, well balanced with good head and profile, everything is in proportion. Lovely markings Enough bone to give her substance whilst remaining feminine. She moved well however she was a little unsettled in the ring today, her left ear was also a bit unsettled.

Veteran Bitch (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: WALKER, Mrs Jean Ch Talanors Treat Me Good At Sizlin Sh.CM
7 ½ year old veteran, what a cracking girl she is. Pleasing head, well carried ears and markings all in proportion. She is balanced and compact and a size that must be spot on for the breed standard.
Correct angulation of front and rear movement reflected in a perfect balance when on the move and had drive. Pushed hard for the CC today but was more than happy to award her the Res CC and Best Veteran
2nd:CAWLEY, Miss Bethany Ch Marlablue in a Twirl Sh.CM VW
9 ½ year of veteran, again another quality female. She has excellent colour and markings albeit fading slightly with her age. She has correct ear carriage and used her ears to advantage. Balanced head, clean shoulders and everything in proportion, she is a good size to the standard. I recall giving her the 3rd CC many years ago and she still has what it takes. Handled to perfection, she lost out today as I preferred the overall substance of the 1st who was on top form.
