Hound Association

Breed: Ibizan Hound

A very good entry for this breed. Type is very mixed. This is a breed that should have lean muscle to give agility and spring, and some were lacking this and too light in body condition. Some hover in evidence, and several with very pleasing profile action but out and back movement was not great in general. My two CC winners from Leeds in 2021 were exhibited again; my job is to judge the hounds presented to me on the day and they duly took the CCs this time as well.

Class 375 JD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1031 MORRIS, Mrs J Jazz A Master Plan Baltas Vejas Anharbn (imp LTU), strongly made w/l smooth, well balanced masculine head with good underjaw, good length of neck and correct modest angulation front and rear, chest not too deep, feet tight and clean, moving reasonably well in all directions, in good show condition with lean muscle; just a bit too fond of his tail. RCC.

Class 378 PGD (1 Entries) Abs: 1

Class 379 LD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1023 CARTER, Mrs Amanda Nevaeh's Radical Dude IMP USA, r/w smooth with a very nice outline, Masculine head with flat skull, good length of neck, breed typical front with correct chest depth, good feet and pasterns, well ribbed up and nicely muscled rear. Moved well enough but not very relaxed in the ring and refused to use his ears, he will have better days in a less noisy environment.

Class 380 OD (2 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 1038 WOODCOCK, Miss Vicki Ch Abbotsoak Any Dream Will Do, r/w 4 y/o smooth, very pleasing lean chiselled head with strong jaw, fine ears used very well, breed typical construction with sufficient angulation, good feet, long ribbing, correct profile movement showing the desired suspended trot, showing a tad too much rib for my taste and untidy coming at me but has very good muscle tone. CC.

Class 381 VD (1 Entries) Abs: 1

Class 382 PB (1 Entries) Abs: 1

Class 383 JB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1029 HAMILTON, Mrs Joan F Heiedra La Princess Rosa de Podi with Harrisclub, w/l rough with quite a nice head with strong jaw and big strong teeth, not inclined to use her ears. Overall nicely balanced breed typical conformation and she moved well enough with no flapping elbows or hocks, tight feet. A bit soft all through still, needs a bit of time to mature and strengthen.

Class 385 SBB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1033 NICHOLLS, Mrs Maria Margaret Sunset Breeze, w/l rough, 2 y/o, not a bad outline, reasonable front angulation and matching rear, head quite pleasing in shape, though refused to show ears. For her age she is very narrow all through, needs to build body and muscle; loose coming towards me. Her and her handler’s first show, plenty to build on.

Class 386 PGB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1036 TAYLOR, Miss J L Yetti (Sp Imp) w/l rough with refined head and feminine outlook; eyes a touch round and though her ears were the correct texture she was not willing to use them much. Nice strong teeth and jaw. Good length of ribbing and topline. Breed specific angulation and chest above elbow; slightly soft in pastern. Looking rather unfinished next to the mature bitches.

Class 387 LB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1037 VESCAN, Ms C & VESCAN, Dr Denisa Gorgona de Entresaltos (Sp Imp), w/l smooth with a lovely head and thin ears which she used well. Good crest of neck, nice level topline, good length of ribbing. A bit narrow in front still and she turns her feet out rather more than slightly, a bit more angulation behind than in front. Moving nicely in profile and going away, untidy in front.

Class 388 OB (5 Entries) Abs: 0

Lovely class of mature bitches.

1st: 1035 TAYLOR, Miss J L Ch Abbotsoak Carousel JW, this w/r smooth is a class act. Eye filling outline with a lovely feminine head and outlook, mobile ears, used to perfection, set into a good length of neck, moderate angulation, in good fit show condition. Distinct hover on the move with lovely profile action; somewhat untidy out and back, but she has a hefty dose of ring presence and joie de vivre, which was better controlled this time and took her to the top spot. CC, her second from me, and BOB.

2nd: 1026 HALL, Ms Sandy Ir Ch Afilador Wheal Grace CW22 CenW CenCh AnCh22, w/r smooth of a rather different type, again a lovely head with mobile thin ears and almond eye, really good front, lean muscled rear, well ribbed up and now in excellent fit lean body condition, credit to her owner’s hard work. Cleaner out and back than 1 but not much in the way of hover. RCC, her second from me to the same bitch.

3rd: 1032 MORRIS, Mrs J Ch Felicia Baltas Vejas (imp Ltu)

Class 389 VB (4 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: 1021 CARTER, Mrs Amanda Ch Afilador Room on the Broom Sh.CM, 8 y/o r/w smooth in excellent form and fit condition, lovely head and expression, balanced angulation with good prosternum, keeping topline well both stacked and on the move, which she did with plenty of freedom and activity. A little softer in pastern now but an overall very pleasing picture. BV, close up for the RCC and was delighted to see her go on to VG4.

2nd: 1030 HAMILTON, Mrs Joan F & RAINSBURY, Mrs V Ch Kalo Skilo's Rose De Immortal Juno With Harrisclub, 8 ½ y/o w/r smooth, have done this lovely lady well in her youth and she still retains most of the qualities that took her to her title. Strong jaw, shapely head, very good front with excellent feet, moderately angled rear; just carrying a little extra condition these days; good to see her looking so well.
