Veteran Bitch (4 ,0)
1. Mrs G E Moutrey, Sunzo Songstar, feminine, well presented red bitch shown in A1 condition. Square outline, kind expression, appropriate length of neck set into a balanced frame with a good rib cage. Well boned limbs and well padded feet. Moved with purpose.
2. Miss D Carteret, Kyna Slack Alice With Derrindee, balanced bitch with pleasing expression and no exaggerations. Level topline which was retained on the move.
3. Mrs A Daniels, Starbourne Calibrachoa
Minor Puppy Bitch (5, 0)
1 & BPB Misses A & E Kettle, Lujesa Laurellakes Angel Whisper, despite her tender age this bitch oozed quality with her coat gleaming in the sunlight and all her attributes absolutely appropriate for her age. Very feminine with a head and expression that was gentle and she showed an interest in what was going on around her. Moderate length of neck set into well angled shoulders balanced by hindquarters with a good turn of stifle. Ribs carried well back with short loin set on well boned legs; all of this put together providing the compact frame which gave a pleasing square outline when stacked and was maintained on the move. Movement was assured and confident with no hint of diffidence.
2. Mrs T A Sherlock, Crimicar Midnight Dreamz, very different type to 1 and not developing in quite such a cohesive manner but nevertheless still presented a pleasing picture. Dark, tight rimmed eyes. Straight front and good feet, appropriate amount of rib and adequate angulation. Moved happily maintaining her overall shape.
3. Mr B Williams Bitcon Sea of Dreams of Wyndsmoor
Puppy Bitch (9, 3)
1. Mrs J Mitchell, Glowhill Ragedy Ann, well grown and developed, I hope that she now stops growing and matures into her solid and balanced frame. good straight front with fore chest and well developed rib for age, hind quarters and forequarters with matching angulation; her movement won this class for her as it was purposeful and steady.
2. Mrs Stokes – Harrell, Villaspaniol Pixies a little unsettled at the start of the class but gradually worked out what she needed to do. Nice square outline and balanced body shape with good rib. Once settled moved happily. Well presented.
3. Miss Macbride, Charmwen Handle with Care
Junior Bitch (3, 0)
1. Messrs Masters & Dott Manchela Little Tease feminine bitch who didn’t stop showing from the time she entered the ring until she left it. The angulation front and rear on this little girl was absolutely right, with no exaggeration and this was reflected in her excellent movement which was particularly pleasing when viewed from behind as the typical cocker bustle could be seen. Her body had good width throughout with a well developed chest and well sprung ribs so her overall framework provided the compact body required in the breed standard.
2. Ms Jenkins, Bruxly Elizabeth bitch with a gentle expression and compact body who was balanced and had a pleasing outline. Moved steadily without any timidity.
3. Mr & Mrs McShane Meggiemac My My My Delilah
Special Beginners Bitch (7, 0)
This was a nice class with several different cocker “types” My placings reflect my own interpretation of the breed standard especially with regard to body shape, angulation and movement.
1. Messrs Green & Brain, Cachel Pop the Question to Meloneras JW an honest bitch who has matured into a nice example of the breed. Pretty head and expression, the eyes having a mischievous twinkle. Adequate length of neck, good straight front with fore chest. Well ribbed body and balanced front and rear angulation. Moved with enthusiasm but I would prefer a little less feathering on the chest and front legs as it detracted from her true stride.
2. Mrs Stokes – Harrell, Whinburn Prairie Grouse different type to 1 but having a nice head and expression. Good front and well ribbed with a nice balanced profile when stacked. Moved well.
3. Mr & Mrs McShane, Meggiemac Dollie Dexterity
Yearling Bitch (4, 1)
1. Mrs West, Shiegra Super Secret JW won this class on her movement and the overall picture she presented. Nice soft expression, good front and lay back of shoulder. Tight feet. Well ribbed and short loin with a good square outline. Moved well with purpose but the tail carriage spoilt the picture.
2. Mrs J Mitchell, Glowhill Chiquitita this bitch was up to size with substance that was evidenced by the amount of bone and the well ribbed body. Square with a level topline that was maintained on the move.
3. Mrs Hutson, Stobytill Bootylicious
Maiden Bitch (1, 0)
1. Mr D Craig, Alisma Astirist stood alone in this class but of sufficient quality to win the following class as well. Feminine head and expression, good reach of neck, straight front with fine, sloping shoulders. Well ribbed, short and strong over the loin and well rounded rear. Square, balanced outline. Moved happily maintaining her overall shape and topline. Lacking coat by todays standards but a sound and honest young lady.
Novice Bitch (4, 0)
1. Mr D Craig, Alisma Astirist
2. Mrs J Griffin, Griffial Love Rescue Me Longer cast than 1, but balanced and not exaggerated. Moved steadily maintaining her topline.
3. Ms Jenkins, Bruxly Elizabeth
Undergraduate Bitch (3, 0)
1 & RBCC Miss C Morris Riondel Solitaire This young lady did not give her handler the easiest time but she is worth every effort that it took to keep her calm and focussed and she won this class with ease. Stacked she had a lovely outline with a level topline and good tail set. On the table I was not disappointed - a pleasing head and kind expression with dark eyes and tight rims , good forechest (which was lacking in many exhibits) and just the right amount of width in front. Well boned legs, nice lay of shoulder balanced with a good turn of stifle. Well sprung ribs, short loin finishing in well rounded, powerful hindquarters. Her movement was true front and rear, she maintained her shape and to complete the picture her tail did not stop wagging.
2. Miss H Coombes Tomarisroan Star Maker, sweet headed bitch, well ribbed and good, square outline.
3. Mrs Griffin Griffial Make It Count

2. Miss S Amos-Jones, Cassom Merrilegs I liked her head and expression, good front and lovely thickly padded feet. Good spring of rib and correct tail set. Showed her happy temperament with an ever wagging tail. Unfortunately her movement was a little unsettled.
3. Mrs B Ward, Wensum Let’s Dance JW
Limit Bitch (14, 2)
As well as being the largest class numerically this class had the greatest depth of quality
1 & BCC Messrs Masters & Dott Adriana Sunforest Soul With Manchela (ImpUkr) JW Smaller than a number of bitches exhibited today but matches the breed standard in every respect. What really stood out was her true movement and the way that she effortlessly covered the ground especially when viewed in profile and her marvellous reach could be seen; this was particularly apparent due to her excellent presentation with an appropriate amount of coat. Sweet head and expression, nice length of neck, good straight front, well boned legs and well padded but neat feet. Good lay of shoulder and length of upper arm balanced with the correctly angulated turn of stifle – lovely to look at and handle – not exaggerated in any way. Well ribbed back and short loin. Beautiful outline stacked and this was retained when she moved.
