Hound Group

It was my absolute pleasure to judge this quality group for SWKA and thank the Committee for their very kind invitation and for their superb hospitality; with a ring full of 27 lovely dogs that certainly did not disappoint, there were many that would grace a short-list on another occasion and in fact I could easily have pulled 12 or more which is a credit to the respective Breed Judges. For further consideration I selected the Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit), Beagle, Borzoi, Dachshund (Std Long-Haired) Irish Wolfhound, Pharaoh Hound, Saluki, and Whippet.

Following a thorough final check of their overall balance, style and movement Group 1 had to go to Multi Ch Vaskurs Moni Maker Qiwidotter (Pharaoh Hound) she is the ultimate red showgirl full of breed type, she had charisma and carriage & a superb clean outline topped off by the most beautiful neck, head & earset. She was always stood perfectly never putting a foot wrong and moved like a dream, freely and with purpose.

Group 2 Collooney Tommy Girl (Whippet) supremely feminine most typical dark brindle with the darkest of oval eyes, graceful curvy outline, beautifully toned all through she was handled to perfection and showed off her flowing easy daisy cutting action so well just gliding around with ease, a classy and stunning bitch who I understand had gained her title on the day and I can see why.

Group 3 Ch/Am Ch M and M's Stellar Mayhem and Madness (Imp USA) (Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit) nicely constructed and very good for size & type in super harsh coat & condition, stood over his front very well, nicely proportioned striding out with purpose holding his head, topline & tail well, super overall outline, eye=catching exhibit with very sound movement.

Group 4 Swansford Prestonador (Std Dachshund L/H) quality rich red male excelling in forechest, overall construction, proportion and balance and a most typical example of this breed, easy steady gait, great personality, superb condition, gleaming coat and has style.
