Great Dane

Pretty bad entry, but as this was the 12th time I have awarded CCs in Danes most people probably know what I like, which was reflected in having a very typy entry. Interesting to be described as an all rounder for this breed, whilst Im not a breed specialist I have a pretty strong connection with the breed and some lovely dogs of the past. Thanks to those who did make the trip to the south coast.

1st: 2598 BARTLEY, Mrs E & BARTLEY, Mr M NIKAMI PAPA SMURF ATELIB

V good for type, good proportions. He has a v good head. Long and clean. Could have a better expression. Lengthy neck. Upright in shoulder and can firm in pastern. Deep chest. Well ribbed back. Level topline. Moderate rear. Springy in his gait.

1st: 2607 KELLEWAY, Mrs S C J Ozzy Osbourne di Stella Ardenes with Stevarah

Not the biggest but liked his proportions. Quite a good head could just be tighter in eye and have less lip. V good neck. Could have a better shoulder. Well sprung ribs. Well bent stifle with low hocks. Could be tidier in front but uses his rear so v well.

1st: 2601 CRANFIELD, Miss J Zefather's Ralph Lauren JW

Lovely for type, he has size, strength and elegance. Masc head, correct planes. V good eyes. Could have less lip. He has a long neck. Moderate front angulation. Deep and well filled in front. Well ribbed. Level topline. Could have a bit more slope to croup. Well bent stifle with low hocks, really drives front the rear and has a light and easy stride. CC

Big d who has good leg length for enough elegance. He has a really good head, correct for width through. Long and crested neck. Could be better in shoulder. Deep and well filled chest. Well ribbed. Plenty of hind angukation. Could be firmer in topline.Liked his rear. Became prancy in the challenge. RCC

1st: 2615 POCOCK, Mrs L & Miss T Tamzdane Appley Ever After

Lightly marked hq with white neck, nice to see. She is v promising. She has a lengthy and fem head. Enough neck. Well laid shoulders. Chest to elbow. Well ribbed. Level topline. Enough hind angulation. She moves with a light and easy y stride. BP and should do v well.

Couple of these being a bit silly.

1st: 2597 BAKER, Miss Libby Ella & BAKER, Mrs Hilary Taradanes Shining Star Over Preveli

Liked her proportions, square fem and elegant. She has a v good head. Long and crested neck. Quite a good front. Deep chest. Firm in topline. Moderate rear. Sound and steady mover.

2nd: 2602 CRANFIELD, Miss J Zefather's Kind Of Magic

Liked her outline and type. She has a long and fem head, eyes could be better. Long, crested neck. Fairly good front. She is slightly long and slightly soft in topline. Moderate rear.

3rd: 2604 KELLEWAY, Mrs S C J TAYSCA STELE MICI WITH STEVARAH

1st: 2611 MORGAN, Mr N Rimor Boadixiya

She had the best outline and head. Square and elegant, long neck. Decent front. Chest to elbow. Cleanest in front. Too moderate in rear and doesn’t use it v well.

2nd: 2603 HARRISON, Mrs Annette Rioco My One And Only to Jasnettdanes JW

Elegant b of a nice shape. Liked her head. Long and clean neck. Stands v wide in front and turns feet in. Deep chest. Level topline. Moderate rear.

3rd: 2616 SKENE, Mr Ashton & SKENE, Mrs Laura Rimor Brianna

1st: 2600 COLLETT, Mrs L M Foaldown Dark Secret

Really lovely head on this typy black. Clean in back skull. She has a long neck. Well laid shoulder with a good return of upper arm. Deep chest. Could be firmer in topline. Enough hind angulation. Better mover than 2. RCC

2nd: 2610 MORGAN, Mr N Rimor Athena's Kyss

Love her outline and proportions. Would like darker eyes and a better expression. She has a long and crested neck. Bit forward in shoulder. Deep chest. Well ribbed. Good hind angulation but could use it better.

3rd: 2612 PAGE, Ms Lisa & CONCANNON, Mrs Tess Novavida Pendle Dreamer

1st: 2599 CHAPPELL, Ms & Mr Lesley & Adam Ch Selmalda Oh Lori (AI)

Quality b of a v good type. She is strong yet still fem. Super head, good length. Liked her eye and expression. Long neck. Well laid shoulder. Would like better pasterns . Deep chest. Fractionally long and could be slightly firmer in topline. Super rear, which she uses so v well. CC & BOB, well done on G4.
