I would like to express my sincere thank you to the committee of the Belfast Dog Show Society for my wonderful appointment. Judging in the UK and many of the native Gundog breeds is the greatest of honour for an overseas judge. The show was very well run and organized by the hard-working committee. I thoroughly enjoyed going over some lovely dogs. I will cherish the memory for a very long time. My two excellent stewards made my day very easy. I would like to thank the exhibitors for sportingly accepting my decisions.

Well balanced head with correct expression, lovely eyes, well set neck, good layback of shoulder with good upper arm, well boned and nice feet, excellent body for one so young, very strong topline, good bend of stifle, short hocks, correct double coat, nice tail, moves well when settled, all the best for the future

Appealing young lad with many good points who is well presented and very showy, masculine head, a bit round in skull, well defined stop, kind expression, lovely eyes, correct strong neck set into good shoulders and correct upper arm, good timber, nice feet, excellent barrel ribbed body, short coupled, very strong topline, correct otter tail, excellent double coat, strong mover with plenty of drive

2. O Donoghue´s Philipstown Artem

Pleasing young dog of a lovely type, most attractive head, expression and eyes, adequate neck and front assembly, nice feet, very good body substance, strong topline, good bend of stifle, excellent double coat and tail, lacking some drive on the move

Broad skull, well defined stop, very kind expression, clean strong neck, well placed shoulders, good upper arm, well off for bone, correct feet, excellent barrel ribbed body, short coupled, level topline, good bend if stifle. Short hocks, perfect double weather resistance double coat, correct otter tail, good reach and drive, well presented and handled in excellent condition, pressed hard for top honours

Compact male who is very showy, masculine head, good stop, nice expression and eyes, strong neck, good fore and aft, well boned, good feet, good depth of body and short coupled, nice topline, tailset could be better, very strong rear, moved freely, nice coat and tail

My notes say, VENI, VIDI, VICI. My eyes were drawn to him like a magnet and ticked all the boxes of my ideal Labrador, He possessed of that illusive sparkle that gives the edge on showmanship and hard to overlook, broad masculine head which is clean-cut without any coarseness, well defined stop, very kind and gentle expression, lovely eyes, excellent black pigment, muscular neck springing cleanly into excellent shoulders, spot on front assembly, best of legs and feet possible, well sprung barrel ribs. Deep through the heart, short coupled, firm topline held on the move, textbook angulations and hind assembly mirrored that of his front, excellent water resistant dense double coat and a correct otter tail, as his construction suggested he moved out with reach and drive. He showed faultlessly with top class handling, a spectacular dog with everything the standard asks for, I could have watched him going round for hours, he put on a stellar performance throughout and could not be denied the top spot and ultimately landed the CC and BOB

Most attractive chocolate male in perfect condition combining masculinity and substance in the best of ways. Well-balanced head with a good stop, intelligent expression, lovely eye colour, strong neck set into well placed shoulders, good return of upper arm, plenty of bone, compact feet, excellent well ribbed body with good depth of brisket, short back, perfect topline and tailset, good turn of stifle, short hocks, correct double coat, perfect otter tail, covering plenty of ground and handled to perfection. Classy charismatic female oozing quality, she caught my eye immediately she came into my ring, typical well balanced head with a well-defined stop, gentle eyes, beautiful expression, wonderful neck and shoulders blending smoothly into the withers, free from throatiness, tight elbows, excellent bone and feet, solidly built and deep through the heart, well sprung ribs, short in couplings, firm topline held on the move, exceptionally sound behind, tailcarriage level with the back, nice coat and correct otter tail, free flowing seemingly without an effort driving moment never putting a foot wrong, handler piloted her to advantage and presentation was second to none, she looked a picture standing and moving and gorgeous from any angle, teeming with quality and correct overall make and shape, a most beautiful unexaggerated bitch who stole my heart completely, pleased to award her the CC BOS
