South Western Golden Retriever Club Championship Show 19 March 2023

First of all I would like to thank the committee of the SWGRC for this honourable invitation to judge at the clubs 50th anniversary show. The club is to be congratulated for the well-organized show and I really enjoyed my day and the lovely atmosphere. I would like to express a big thank you to the exhibitors for entering their dogs under me and for sportingly accepting my decisions. I thoroughly enjoyed going over some lovely bitches and it was splitting hairs where the CC would go.. The hospitality was amazing and my two ring stewards did a wonderful job during the day keeping my ring running smoothly. Indeed a lovely day and I will cherish the memory for a very long time. My co-judge and I were in full agreement for BIS who is a spectacular dog with everything the standard asks for. He was combining masculinity and elegance in a correct way and was put down to perfection.

1. Clarkson Mrs FM CH DRUMKILTY HIBERNIA JW It is always a pleasure to judge lovely veterans and I was not disappointed with the quality. The winner appeals for her lovely outline and her beautiful head and gentle expression, excellent neck which is well set on correct front assembly, well off for bone, lovely neat feet, well spring ribs and very nice topline, well angulated rear and moved with correct reach and drive, shown in gleaming coat.

2. Turner Ms R GRAIN OF GOLD'S ARWEN OF AMILONE (IMP SWE) SGWC Lovely bitch in great condition, feminine head and nice expression, good neck and front, excellent bone, correct substance and deep through the heart, good topline, strong rear and moved out really well, nice coat

She has a most balanced outline with correct angulations fore and aft, Lovely head and expression, reach neck and well-laid shoulders. Excellent bone and feet, perfect body for age and a superb topline, short back, lovely back end, correct tail, moved freely, well presented in good coat

2. Northey Mrs K STEVKARN SUNNY SKY Very nice puppy with many good points but just needs to tighten all over, time is her best friend, Pleasing head and expression, nice neck, front and bone, very good body, nice topline standing, good quarters, correct coat quality, moves Ok
