Birmingham Dog Show Society Ltd

Breed: Chihuahua (Long Coat)

National Dog Show, The Birmingham Dog Show Society

Friday 5th May 2023

I was delighted to be asked to award my first set of CCs at this show and thank all exhibitors who entered under me, especially those who accepted my decisions graciously. Overall, mouths are better than they have been in recent years however what is disappointing is the continued presentation of exhibits with poor construction, mainly rear; these exhibits do not move with the brisk, forceful action which conveys the overall character of the breed. A chihuahua should move as if it is on a mission.

Fair mover for age. Pleasing, typey head and expression with correct dentition.

Lovely shape when standing and moving, just a little bit more maturing to do to complete the picture.

Large, dark expressive eyes with good ear set and length of muzzle, nothing overdone. It is her construction that stands her apart from her competition. One of the best movers of the day and with such will to please her able handler. I wish my dog looked at me like that. Deserving in the show ring and could potentially rear a litter of equally sounds puppies if and when the time is right. RCC.
