LEEDS CHAMPIONSHIP DOG SHOW
30th July 2023
Many thanks to Leeds for inviting me to award my first CCs in this breed. I was honoured to have the highest entry in the Utility Group today and thank everyone for bringing their dogs under me. The weather made for an interesting set of circumstances. Firstly, the wind which caused the marquees to make some alarming bangs; this unsettled some of the puppies, but also there were some flighty youngsters present and this did not help them. Then the rain decided to pay a visit, just when we had the biggest classes of the day. I split the classes and my thanks to everyone for cooperating with this. A couple of things which concerned me. Heads were not good in some exhibits, being two heavy and lacking shape. Also some profiles were very ‘common’ i.e. lacking the rib cage shape and overall outline I was looking for. I must include a heartfelt thanks to Graham and Sue Hills, my stewards, whose help was invaluable at getting through this big entry.
