TIBETAN TERRIER

Can I thank the Officers and Committee of Bournemouth Canine Association for giving me the opportunity to judge three breeds at their show. My first Breed was Tibetan Terriers, this is my own breed which I have not judged since 2018. The changes I have noted this time is that eye colour has deteriorated with some exhibits having light eyes, some have no body and others are fat. The breed standard says ‘sturdy’ a lot were lacking this feature. Movement today was difficult to assess as we had a very small indoor ring at the end of the tent and with the weather being poor we were in and out. At least when it came to both challenges, I was able to move the exhibits outside in the big ring to make my decisions. Presentation of coats were on the whole good but there were a few that needed a good bath and groom.

1st: 3451 SINCLAIR & BARRON, Mrs A & Mr A ANN & ADRIAN Tinghsa Bells King Of Hearts At Araki( imp Hun) TA – 6 month dark gold and white boy that was a lovely size and shape. He is sturdy and has good bone and feet. His head is balanced with dark eyes and good pigmentation, correct mouth. He has a good neck which flows into good shoulder placement, deep chest and good ribs. He has a short loin and a high tailset. He has a well angled rear. He moved positively around the ring for one so young. Coat of excellent quality and presentation. BPD and BP.

2nd: 3401 DAVIES, Mr G Waterley Heart Breaker – 9 mth black and white boy which was a taller exhibit than my class winner. He is very flashy and needs to mature in body. His head is not as balanced as my class winner. He has a lovely neck and level topline, correct high set tail. He has good rear angles and again moves positively. His coat is presented to perfection. I just preferred the head qualities of my class winner today. These are two quality puppies, both should have a very exciting future ahead of them.

He moved well both ways, his coat is maturing nicely and was well presented.

Well muscled rear and positive movement.

2nd: 3403 DAVIES, Mrs V Pinrow Knight in Black – Black/white boy, much of the same comments above also apply to this boy. He is a typical exhibit from this kennel which is of good make and shape, has plenty of bone and good feet and is sturdy. His coat is coming and is of the correct texture. 1st: STICKLEY, Mr & Mrs G & H Silgarhi's Holy Moses at Walkamile – 22mth old black who is ideal for size and shape but I would say in the ‘inbetween;’ stage of his development. He has a good head and expression, well off for neck, good angles, correct feet. OK for bone, needs to develop in body and correct high tail. He is well muscled and moves soundly both ways. His coat is coming.

2nd: JONES, Ms H Moonsky Along Came Jones to Dobriach – this black boy was very had to assess today being very naughty on the table. He would not let me go over him and was giving his handler a hard time. From what I could assess he has good body substance and his coat is coming. He was playing up on the move.
