Welsh Corgi (Cardigan)

I would like to thank to WPBAS committee for inviting me to judge cardigan corgis, I had a lovely day and got the chance to put my hands on some lovely dogs. Thank you to all exhibitors for entering under myself and for respecting my placings and showing good sportsmanship in the ring.

1ST 386 - Lidoffad Celtic Warrior with Sanja (Mrs M & Mrs D Aynscough & Maas)

I was very impressed with this youngster and considered him for higher honours. 11-month-old, beautiful head and expression presented in beautiful coat and condition. Masculine shaped head with correctly rounded ears, correct bite. Well laid shoulders, good size and shape for age. Well-muscled in body, broad chested with well sprung ribs. Correct angulation throughout. On the move he did not disappoint either, once settled after first move round he moved out well round the ring really using his strong hindquarters to power round the ring. A very promising youngster with a bright future, I am sure. Reserve best dog and BPIB

2ND 392 - Liebehund Private Ryan (Ms M H & Mr S Greensill & Mccallum)

Another lovely youngster just preferred the movement of 1 today. Lovely head and expression correct bite and correct ear set and shape. Nearly 12 months old, rear angulation good for age. Well-muscled in body just slighter smaller and finer in build. Decent front assembly would prefer a little tighter in front, but this may come with age. Broad chested and good depth of brisket too. Moved out well just seemed to lack confidence on the move which made him move a little slower and not as free moving as I mentioned to his handler this however may come with time and confidence.

1ST 390 - Kerman Pitch The Ball (Miss F Fricker)

A striking 17-month-old male, eye catching in a line up and on the move. Beautiful, masculine head and expression. Presented in beautiful coat and condition. Correct bite and ear set, moderate stop. Strong neck sloping into well laid shoulders and good front assembly. Lovely broad chest with good depth of brisket and well sprung ribs, good length in body sitting on strong hindquarters and well-shaped rear assembly and angulation. Level topline which he held on the move. Moved out round the ring well using his strong hindquarters to advantage. He is not exaggerated in any way and moves effortlessly. He is balanced and a lovely picture to watch when striding out. Best dog and Best of Breed

2ND 393 - Nesden Storm Breaker (Miss F, Mr T & Mrs E Snedden)

4-year-old male with kind but masculine head and expression correct ear set and good bite, Well laid shoulders and good width in chest and depth of brisket, good front assembly with good angulation throughout. Level topline and good length in body. On the move he moved out well showing free and active movement and used his hind quarters well, unfortunately he carried his tail too high today which spoiled his outline slightly on the move. Otherwise, a lovely boy.

150. Welsh Corgi (Cardigan) - Open Bitch

1ST 394 - Nesden Storm Cloud (Miss F, Mr T & Mrs E Snedden)

A lovely quality 4-year-old bitch who stood out in the line up and won the class today on her beautiful movement. Classic head with a lovely feminine expression. Correct bite, ear set and shape. Well laid shoulders and good broad chest and front angulations with well sprung ribs, she could be slightly deeper in brisket. Her movement was a joy to watch she really powered round the ring using her strong hindquarters to advantage. She has a lovely topline which she held firmly on the move. She had a lovely connection with her handler. Her handler also showed her to advantage today allowing her to really show off. A lovely girl who pushed hard for best of breed today. Best Bitch

2ND 389 - Ch Kerman Field of Dreams (Miss F Fricker)

Another quality 7-year-old girl who is well worthy of her CH title. Pushed hard for the class win today but just preferred movement of 1 on the day today. Beautiful head and expression, turned out in beautiful coat and condition. Correct bite, ear shape and set. Lovely angulation throughout, well-muscled and strong in body but still retained the feminine qualities. Lovely neck slightly sloping into very well laid shoulders, this girl has a lovely depth of brisket and a good broad chest. On the move toady she was just slightly unsettled which spoiled her outline on the move. I am sure she could have swapped places with 1 on another day. Reserve best bitch

3RD 387 - Joseter Charlie Bucket (Mr P Clifton)

RES 395 - Twinan The Tempest with Nesden (Miss F, Mr T & Mrs E Snedden)
