PAIGNTON & DISTRICT 6TH AUGUST 2023 HIGHAM JUNIOR STAKES DAY 3 HOUNDS /UTILITY Judge: Mrs D Stewart-Ritchie
Class A.V. HOUND & UTILITY JUNIOR DOG (16,9) Two very smart Rhodesian’s headed this strong class - both of real quality and whilst having slightly different styles, both oozed breed type in abundance. I liked them both very much and found there was little to split them. On another day it sure is game on and decisions can of course change. Both had showmanship in spades and were presented in the very best of order.
1st Hodge’s KXOXO I'M OLD FASHIONED FOR COLKERIRIN (Imp Fin), Rhodesian Ridgeback. Open free mover who moves with such style and surety. Good front assembly. He is strong and well developed in the rear with no hint of excess. Moderate but strong and in super musculature. He has deep, long ribs and is strong enough through the loin. He has a dark expressive eye and is well balanced in head with enough chiseling and well positioned ears of good size and shape. Stands on quality bone and good feet. He has a strong topline with correct ridge.
2nd Davies’ GUNTHWAITES FANCY MAN Rhodesian Ridgeback. Most lovely colour and another with excellent schooling and muscle tone. Put down in the best of order. Good shoulder and forehand. He is deep, well sprung in rib and is well ribbed back to his strong, muscled loin. He has a strong, level topline with good ridge and crowns. Excellent length to height ratios and good in angulation. A smart one whom I liked very much. Moved with style and charisma.
3rd Turton’s SHIROBLAM SOLAR Basset Fauve de Bretagne

Class A.V. HOUND & UTILITY JUNIOR BITCH (24,10)
A quality class with a number of exciting prospects for the future. I had a pleasing shortlist and it was no disgrace not to take the top cards away - many were super specimens of their individual breeds whom I liked a lot. 1st Maxwell & Chalmers’JODAK'S DANCE PARTY AT AINTSHE. Lhasa Apso. What a little power house on the move. She is strong and robust yet, retains the best of elegance and carries herself like a model. Classy in outline with super topline and tail set. She has good bone, is well proportioned and is full in ribs. Glorious headpiece with correct shaped eye and super expression. Good length of neck leads into a super shoulder. This girl has a strong well developed rear and is fit and full of muscle with the best of coat conditioning. She’s got a great coat already and is presented beautifully. An all round cracking junior, whom I am sure has a very bright future ahead.
2nd Johnston, Johnston& Wilson’s DANLUKE DON'T I KNOW IT Whippet. Another from this kennel who I am sure has a bright future. She is curvy yet moderate and is so pleasurable to watch on the around. Good in length to height proportions. Stands on quality bone and the best of feet. She has good depth and is well developed in ribs. Good fore and aft and is good in topline and underline with well-placed tail. Moves with an easy reach and good drive and desirable daisy cutting action. Well-muscled and handled. 3rd Neath-Duggan & Coyne’s KELEVRA PICKLE MY FENNEL WITH BUFFREY. Dalmatian. Diane Stewart-Ritchie
