Manchester Dog Show Society

Breed: Rottweiler

I would like to express my thanks to Manchester dog Show Society for inviting me to judge and a big thank you to the exhibitors for their entries, I thoroughly enjoyed judging and there was some difficult decisions to make on the day, there was a great atmosphere ringside and everyone was very sporting. A few points that I would like to make regarding the breed, there are quite a few dogs that are long in back, we should be looking at a 9-10 ratio and many are longer in body detracting from the true Rottweiler shape, a second issue is front construction, a lot of dogs are very steep in front angles and without a good length of upper arm it leads to dogs with no reach. On the plus side, presentation and temperaments overall were very good. A big thanks to my 3 stewards for keeping the ring running smoothly.
