I would firstly like to thank The Scottish Kennel Club for their invitation to Judge and award my first sets of CCs which I thoroughly enjoyed. Congratulations must also go to their hard-working committee and members for putting on a such fabulous show. Many thanks to my ring stewards, thank you to each and every exhibitor who took the time and expense to show their Staffordshire Bull Terriers under me, it was a privilege and I sincerely appreciated it. Thank you also for taking my decisions in such a sporting manner and giving applause to those placed. With regards mouths on the whole they were good, so I won’t mention them in my critiques.

Fitness can make such a difference to the exhibit, quite a few lacked fitness, which can make all the difference when it comes down to close decisions for places.

1st: MAYREN, Mr Andrew & MAYREN, Mrs Linzi Fergiestaffs Polar Bear

Pied, Nice head for age, distinct stop, open nares, dark eye, clean lips, rib developing nicely, straight front leading to well-padded feet, balanced from every angle moved well.

2nd: BARRINGTON, Mr Craig & BARRINGTON, Mrs Sarah Fergiestaffs God of War

Pied, litter brother to first place, not quite as mature yet, head developing nicely, dark eye, neat ears, good amount of bone, level topline moved well.

1st: CHAMBERS, Mr David Kamaristaffs Royal Rascal

Top size black brindle, beautiful head with no exaggeration, dark eye open nares, neat ears enough brisket but needs to develop more rib, unfortunately didn’t move his best today.

Well-developed head, good width of muzzle, strong under jaw, dark eye, clean lips, straight front leading to good width of chest, well sprung ribs, level topline held on the move, in good fit condition. Pushed hard for RCC, I’m sure this boy’s day will come I will watch his journey with interest.

2nd: SHELDON, Miss Lara Kamaristaffs Royal Ransom at Bowtman

Strong head, with pronounced cheek bumps, neat ears, good width of front, well boned, rib needs to develop more to complete the picture. moved well. BPD

Black brindle, head slightly stronger than first but still balanced, dark eye, neatest of ears, good front slightly less brisket than first just preferred the movement on first place

Overall, slightly larger than first place, but still a well-balanced dog, beautiful head with distinct stop, dark eye plenty of rib in good fit condition, moved ok.

Red and white pied, with balanced head with no exaggeration, slightly larger ears than first place, straight front good rear angulation, just preferred the spring of rib on first.

Brindle, strong balanced head, ears ok, slightly more bone that first, good width to front, well laid-back shoulders, good spring of rib, slightly longer cast than first, moved well, level topline held on the move. RCC

Pied, now this bitch “is my cup of tea all day long” cracking head with open nares, distinct stop, good width to muzzle with dark eyes, and neat ears lips tight and clean, wide straight front with enough brisket, plenty of rib, with a level topline, hocks well let down, neat feet, well-muscled hind quarters, a real fire cracker, when settled moved with drive and purpose. A real pleasure to award her first CC and BOB

Black brindle, a strong upstanding bitch with a classic head and expression dark eye, clean lips, neat ears distinct stop, straight front with good width to chest plenty of rib, level topline, well-muscled rear with well let down hocks, moved with drive. This bitch just looked a bit “lack lustre” today when in the challenge.

Black brindle, slightly finer that I would like but all there, this bitch is super fit, a credit to her owners, feminine head still has a dark eye with a glint in it, with a keen alert expression, straight front with correct shoulder angulation, plenty of rib on this girl, short coupled, covered the ground effortlessly, but made her handler work hard.
