Thank you for a lovely entry despite several exhibitors being unable to enter under me. I have not judged the breed since 2019 and I was struck by the number of large round eyes, mostly brown. The standard asks for “relatively small, oval shaped, dark, full of expression, bright and keen” As most of the large round eyes were cleverly hidden by hair the overall expression wasn’t always affected but as smaller, dark keen eyes are something I like it was a disappointment. Only one exhibit had really correct eyes. Poor movement is an issue which needs some attention. As for the breed watch point, all Norwich appeared very healthy with no issues.

Entries: 3 Absentees: 2

1ST 10256 - Brickin Blame The Game (Miss A C & Mr J D Morris & Reid), Compact, well boned, good head, strong muzzle, prefer smaller eye and more angulation both ways, Good depth of rib, could be in better coat. Showed well with good tail set.

1793. Norwich Terrier - Post Graduate Dog

Entries: 2 Absentees: 0

1ST 10245 - Elantiz Verde (Ms S & Mr I Gretton & Bell), A quality dog with good bone and substance, strong head, good bite, correct lay back of shoulder, rib length OK, Better tail than 2, in very good coat, showed and moved well. In the RCC challenge had the edge on movement and showed a very typical outline. RCC

2ND 10258 - Fantasia's Wild Magic (Imp Usa) (Mr I & Mrs K & Miss C-L & Mrs L Page & Page & Page & Crawley) Smaller and finer than 1 but with a lovely head and expression, not the movement of one but excellent coat texture, well presented.

1794. Norwich Terrier - Limit Dog

Entries: 4 Absentees: 1.

1ST 10252 - Ragus Oh Boy (Mrs M F Martin) My star of the day, a close decision with 2 in the class. He won on being lower to ground with more depth of chest than 2 and with a little more angulation giving an overall more correct outline and movement. His outstanding harsh coat means he doesn’t carry so much furnishings as softer coated dogs which can make him look slightly plainer, however underneath he is a lovely package, Short and cobby he was the best mover today, good layback of shoulder and length of upper arm with balanced hind angulation. For perfection he could be longer in the rib. Typical head and expression, strong muzzle with correct bite. Presented in perfect coat, never stopped showing. DCC & BOB.

2ND 10239 - Contilly On A Roll (Mrs D Batey) Another high quality dog, he pushed hard in the class but in the challenge for RCC did not move out so well. Head a little stronger than 1 with a gorgeous expression but not the spring and depth of chest which makes him more leggy and not so low to ground. Short back. Presented in excellent coat. Slightly better tail carriage than 1. Showed well.

3RD 10262 - Ragus Fun N'laughter (Ms L Webster) Unlucky to meet 1 and 2, longer cast so not so typical in outline. Really good head an expression, ear carriage slightly better than 1, not in the coat of 1 or 2. Showed very well.

1795. Norwich Terrier - Open Dog

Entries: 3 Absentees: 0

1ST 10248 - Ch Kreatin Extra Factor TAF (Mrs B M & Mrs C & Mr W Ackling & Hitchen & Lumpkin) A dog with beautiful type, put down to perfection. Very showy, short and cobby, excellent bone and depth of chest. Lovely head and expression. Prefer more hind angulation and upper arm to give some extension when moving.

2ND 10238 - Ragus Sweet Bay at Elantiz (Miss J & Ms P Armstrong & Lawrance) A better mover than 1 with better angulation both ways but prefer him shorter in the back so not giving a typical outline. Another excellent head and presented to perfection. Showed well.

3RD 10257 - Contilly Ask No Questions between Winflash (Mr I, Mrs K & Miss C-L Page) The only Norwich here today with a really correct eye, relatively small dark, oval shaped. Unfortunately out of coat today and dropping tail at times. Good depth of body and spring of rib. Better front than 1. Better length of back than 2. Not the head or bone of 1 or 2. Well balanced. Excellent tail carriage.

1797. Norwich Terrier - Veteran Bitch

Entries: 1 Absentees: 0

1ST 10236 - Elantiz Rambling Rosie ShCM VW (Miss J & Ms P Armstrong & Lawrence), Amazing 12.5 year old B, so good for her age in wonderful condition, really enjoying her day, pretty expression, very feminine, bite still complete and correct. Cobby with a good tail carriage, presented really well.

1798. Norwich Terrier - Puppy Bitch

Entries: 3 Absentees: 1

1ST 10240 - Contilly Smoke and Burn (Mrs D Batey) A very pretty typy B&T bitch who moved out very well with good hind quarters and front. Cobby, low to ground with a good length of neck and excellent tail carriage and set. Head needs to come but feminine typical expression with a nice eye. Pushed very hard for RCC, just not quite the bone or head of the winners. BP

2ND 10255 - Javidel Miss Marple at Swalefield (Miss E Mitchell) Slightly shorter in back than 1 but not the movement or stop and skull. Good spring of rib. Excels for harsh coat which makes her look more plain.

1799. Norwich Terrier - Junior Bitch

1ST 10251 - Ragus Blowing Kisses to Carradine (Miss D H & Mrs R A Inett & Harrison) Compact, strong bitch, wouldn’t want her any bigger, Broad skull, correct expression, best mover in the class, showing well. Good length of neck, correct upper arm, hind angulation OK, short back, good spring and depth of rib, well balanced. Better tail carriage than many. In the challenge she out moved all the others and presented a typical compact outline. Delighted to award her BCC.

2ND 10246 - Alantro Silent Step (Mr A Haynes) Longer cast than 2, beautifully presented, not the construction of 1. Nice head and expression, Good spring of rib, good tail set. Very happy showgirl, well handled.

3RD 10244 - Pipsacre Spring Tide (Ms N C Graves) Shorter in back than 1 and 2 but prefer more hind angulation and longer upper arm. Cobby with good depth and spring of rib, loin could be shorter. Not showing so well.

Entries: 3 Absentees: 0

1ST 10259 - Jaeva Painted Lady (Mr H T & Mrs K Russell & Tate) Won by having a better topline and head with more stop than 2, good dentition. Prefer higher tail set which would help hind movement but tail carriage good. Happy showgirl

2ND 10260 - Javidel Smart Girls Dnt Talk (Mrs A C Smith) Shorter in back than 1 with good proportions but out of coat today. Happy on the move.

3RD 10235 - Elantiz Angels & Demons (Miss J N & Mr B Armstrong & Egginton) Not the quality and bone of the others and a bit longer cast. Pretty bitch so well presented and showed really well, prefer more reach and drive, excellent tail set and carriage, prefer longer muzzle.

1802. Norwich Terrier - Open Bitch

Entries: 3 Absentees: 0

1ST 10237 - Ch Elantiz This Is Me (Miss J & Ms P Armstrong & Lawrence) Quality bitch, best mover in the class, excellent coat and condition, good bone, strong head with typical expression, good layback of shoulder. Could have shorter loin and back, good depth and spring. of rib. Harsh coat, showed well. In the challenge her maturity just pipped the puppy for RCC.

2ND 10249 - Ch Kreatin Extra Treat (Mrs C Hitchen) A much shorter bitch with a good shoulder and upper arm, good spring and depth of rib. Not the head of one and not in the best coat today, prefer more hind angulation to allow drive on the move. Showed very well.

3RD 10247 - Alantro Step Into My Shadow (Mr A Haynes) A short cobby B in excellent coat and well presented. Prefer more stop to give more typical expression. Not the movement of 1 or 2, rather short in neck.
