1st: MURRAY, Mr & Mrs Des Sea'nland Master of the Sea for Riverrun. Well balanced all through. Good breadth of head with skull of equal length to the muzzle. Small ears. Strong neck leading to good lay of shoulder. Could have a little more angulation in upper arm. Strong body with deep chest and well ribbed back. Well made hindquarters - just needs to strengthen through them. Coat of good texture. Excellent bone and feet. Could be tidier moving away but good in profile. BP

2nd: BOYLES, Mrs Tracy & BOYLES, Mr Graham Pixiesrock Mr Tumnus by Bleyos. Good overall balance. Well shaped head with good length of muzzle. Would like a little more length of neck and rather upright in shoulder. Good depth of chest and spring of rib. Well made hindquarters with good width of second thigh. Good bone and feet. Not quite the drive on the move as the winner.

3rd: LONGMAN, Mr Richard CRABLEYPEAKE ALABAMA

1st: GREGORY, Mr Phillip Muireatai Run In The Woods. I was very impressed with this young dog - he has all the attributes that he needs to do well in the future. Well balanced all through. Head shape is correct with good breadth of skull and strong muzzle. Would prefer smaller ears. Well laid shoulder with corresponding length and return of upper arm. Correct depth of chest for age. Well spring ribcage. Scores in hindquarters with good width of second thigh and well let down hocks and parallel rear cannons. Excellent bone and feet. Coat of good texture. Good movement - just wish he wouldn’t fly his tail!

2nd: BOYLES, Mrs Tracy & BOYLES, Mr Graham Pixiesrock Mr Tumnus by Bleyos. 2nd MPD.

1st: BROOMFIELD, Mrs Cathy & BROOMFIELD, Mr Simon Glaneils Count On Me. Well balanced and clean in outline. Head is of good length but could be cleaner in cheek. Small well set ears. Strong neck of correct length. Rather upright in shoulder and I would prefer more angulation of the upper arm. Well ribbed back with correct topline. Hindquarters are well shaped - would just like a little width of second thigh. Excellent bone and feet. Coat of excellent texture. Sound movement.

2nd: DUNCANSON, Mrs Katy Marie Arnac Bay Invincible for Dunakitts. Well balanced all through and I did prefer his forehand angulation to that of the winner however for me his head has too much stop and his lips are too pendulous. Very well laid shoulder with good return of upper arm. Well ribbed back. A little straight in stifle. Good bone and feet. Movement could be tidier. Very good coat texture.

3rd: RIGBY, Mr D N Chesepi Waco

1st: MURCH, Miss Lisa & MAYHEW, MRS C NEXT GENERATIONS ARNAC ARCTIC STORM (IMP USA). A very impressive young dog whose best is yet to come. Excellent overall balance. Excellent head with good breadth of skull, gradually tapering muzzle and small well set ears. He has a strong neck leading to an excellent layback of shoulder and correct length and return of upper arm. Good depth of chest with well sprung ribcage. Strong, well made hindquarters with good width of second thigh. Hocks well let down with rear cannons parallel to the ground. Coat of good texture. Movement was accurate both fore and aft and he displayed an excellent stride when viewed in profile. DCC which I learned was his third - very well done.

2nd: MAHON-HUNNS, Mrs Madeleine V & HUNNS, Mr J & NEWTON Mr J. Sh Ch Arnac Bay Huron at Bergelle JW. Another dog whom I like very much indeed and is such a worthy title holder. Well built and beautifully balanced all through. Excellent head of correct proportions. Strong neck leading with well angulated forequarters - just felt the winner was a bit cleaner in front. But it was marginal. Excellent depth of chest with well sprung ribcage. Strong, well made hindquarters with good width of second thigh. Excellent bone and feet. Coat of correct texture. Strong driving movement totally at one with his handler. It was a very close call between the two - and on another day the placings could change. Well deserved RCC.

1st: MURCH, Miss Lisa Pixiesrock Green Kirkle. What a lovely young puppy. Very raw but has all the attributes. Well shaped head of good breadth and length with small high set ears. Well laid shoulder with correct return of upper arm. Good depth of chest for age. Level topline with good spring of rib. Scores in hindquarters with good width of second thigh and well let down hocks. Excellent bone and feet. Coat of good texture. Moved very confidently for a puppy. Just lost on maturity to the older puppy in the challenge but very nice prospect for the future.

1st: MIDDLETON, Ms Joy & MAYHEW, Mrs C Sh Ch Arnac Bay Hebe WGC EW’22. What can I say that probably hasn’t already been said before? This bitch is just stunning and it really was an absolute treat to be able to judge her. For me - she ticks all the boxes. Perfectly balanced. Her head shape is totally correct with a broad skull and muzzle of equal length and gently taped. Ears high set. Strong neck leading to textbook forehand construction with the shoulders well laid back and the correct angle and length of the upper arm leaving her front legs well positioned under the body. Correct depth and width of chest with well sprung ribcage. Flanks with slight tuck up. Exemplary hindquarters with well turned stifles and good width of second thigh. Well muscled all through. Hocks well let down with short, parallel rear cannons and the best of feet. And then she moved - accurate both fore and aft and then viewed in profile she covers the ground effortlessly on a long stride - I could have watched her for the rest of the day. There is no doubt that she is fit for function and purpose and could cover a field of plough without even thinking about it. CC and BOB - I was delighted to see her shortlisted in the Gundog Group and I most sincerely congratulate her breeder who for many years now (more than I care to remember) has always produced dogs of the highest quality. This bitch must rate among her finest.

2nd: THOMPSON, Mrs THELMA MILLICENT & THOMPSON, MR DAVID. ARNAC BAY HARVEST. Another quality bitch straight out of the top draw and litter sister to the winner and also the RDCC. What a litter this was. Beautifully balanced all through. Excellent head shape of good breadth and length with small high set ears. Strong neck of medium length leading into well laid shoulder and correct length and return of upper arm. Excellent depth of chest and spring of rib. Very well made hindquarters - not quite in the hard condition of the winner. Good coat texture. Excellent bone and feet. Moved well - just not quite the ground covering stride of her sister but a very worthy RCC.

3rd: BROOMFIELD, Mrs Cathy & BROOMFIELD, Mr Simon Petsalls Pride Beech At Glaneils

1st: MAYHEW, Mrs C Sh Ch Arnac Bay Flax. At 10 years old now this bitch can still give the youngsters a run for their money. I awarded a CC a few years back - and she is still more than capable of winning more. Lovely head with moderate stop and small well set ears. Strong neck. Exemplary forehand construction. Good depth of chest and spring of rib cage. Strong hindquarters with good width of second thigh and well let down hocks. She could show the youngsters a thing or two on the move as she powered round the ring with great drive. A real treat to judge her again. BV.

2nd: WATTS, Miss Kirsty OAKMARSH ACORN SGWC VW. At 13 years old this bitch is a great credit to her owner breeder. Well balanced all through. A little stronger in head than the winner but still feminine. Strong neck. Well laid shoulder. Good depth of chest and well sprung in ribcage. Strong well muscled hindquarters. Understandably not quite as free on the move but still very sound and I understand still earns her keep in the shooting field.
