My thanks for the exhibitors for entering under me and to my stewards for keeping me on the straight and narrow, on this my first-time awarding CC’s in the breed. I has some super dog to go over and I had to make some tough decisions, I suspect may will change place over the coming year. I was pleased to hear the class winners greeted with applause. I thought there was a lovely atmosphere around the ring and thankfully we missed the hottest part of the day.

My Dog Challenge Certificate and Best of Breed was awarded to Taftazini Aiden Abbett (Miss V M Pingault). My Reserve Dog Challenge Certificate went to second in open Sh Ch Elfrindew Endrick to Valger (Mr J R & Mrs V Mann). My Bitch Challenge Certificate was awarded to the winner of limit, Barleyarch Shindig with Kavacanne (Mr A P Rose). My Reserve Bitch Challenge Certificate to the winner of open bitch Sh Ch Dappledele First Date at Bryburn (Mr B B & Mrs F V Thurm). Best Puppy went to the very exciting youngster Keigame Hearts Desire of Sparkenhoe (ai) (Mrs L Angus) and Best Veteran to the timeless Sh Ch Bryburn Bacchus JW ShCM ShCEx (Mr B B & Mrs F V Thurm). Best Junior was a real tussle between two exciting youngsters with the bitch Orchidstar Missing Link JW (Mrs Z M Sielski) coming out on top.

1st Place Barkersdream Howl You Doing (Mrs D C Flatman)

The chap was 8 months, well up for size hopefully he has done the majority of his growing. Head is masculine, of good proportions. Lots of potential about him, head of good shape. Well boned legs and neat feet. Good overall proportions. Needs to find his feet on the move, when he settled, I could see a good footfall.

1st Place Orchidstar Themisto by Balvenie (Mrs Schoneville)

Good overall shape on this young man, head pleasing, and he has a clean outline for his age. Good front on him, shoulders well placed, would like a tad more forearm. Body of good proportions, firm in loin. Well boned legs with neat feet. Quarters well made, stifles well bent. Still needs to find his feet on the move but once he got going had a good side gait. Best Puppy Dog, a promising youngster.

2nd Place Barkersdream Howl You Doing (Mrs D C Flatman)

1st Place Winterwell Iggy Inch JW (Miss A Bowler)

This dog just got better as the class went on, presented with the cleanest of outlines. He is 16 months old and has a good overall shape and size about him. Head masculine, strong clean neck into well set shoulders, with a good lay-back. Stands on well boned legs, with elbows tight to the body. Good depth to his chest, ribs well sprung, firm short back. Quarters well made with good angulation. Moved out well to take the class. Pushed hard for top honours in the challenge and I don’t think they will be far away.

2nd Place Pelenrise All Guns Blazing (Mrs P & Mrs H Taylor & Taylor-Morris)

Another smart dog but not quite as together as the winner. 15 months old but today wasn’t always holding his shape and topline on the stack. His shoulders are well set and enough return of upper arm, ribs well sprung. Quarters well-made which he used to advantage on the move. Smart dog that should have a bright future ahead of him. Was told that his win in the later class gave him the final points for his JW, congratulations.

3rd Place Keigame Hvitserk of Sparkenhoe (Mrs L Angus)

1st Place Pelenrise All Guns Blazing (Mrs P & Mrs H Taylor & Taylor-Morris)

2nd Place Fraulynzway Lightning Bolt (Mrs L & Miss H Russell)

I liked this chap, but he kept losing his shape on the stack, he held his shape better on the move. I like his head piece, good overall shape, and kind eye to give a masculine expression. Neck into shoulder is clean. Good body proportion, ribs springing well and decent quarters on him. Not as accurate on the move as the winner today. Shown in excellent hard condition.

3rd Place Barkersdream Howl You Doing (Mrs D C Flatman)

Limit Dog Entries: 2 Absentees: 1

1st Place Kilnrae Berliner (Mrs K M Marsh)

Well-made dog, good overall shape and balance, well up for height. Head is well proportioned, muscular clean neck. Decent front assembly and depth of chest on him, ribs well sprung and back, good angulation behind. In hard condition. Moved out well covering the ground with ease.

Open Dog Entries: 8 Absentees: 1

1st Place Taftazini Aiden Abbett (Miss V M Pingault)

Last judged him when I did the C&S club show and he won limit under me that day, I liked him then so was pleased to see him here as the finished article and wow, he has matured into a super boy. He just commanded attention. Presents with a super outline, totally in balance. Head is masculine, good breadth of skull and overall proportion. Good eye shape giving that intelligent expression. Super clean neck in to well set shoulders. Stands on well boned, straight legs and neat feet. Depth to chest and ribs well sprung, firm in loin to give the correct topline. Quarters well made with stifles well bent and in good muscular condition. Excellent coat with harsh texture. Excelled on the move to take the class with a ground covering action, stood out in the challenge. Pleased to award him the DCC and BOB, I was told by his elated handler that it was his third, my congratulations and thank you for bringing him again.

2nd Place Sh Ch Elfrindew Endrick to Valger (Mr J R & Mrs V Mann)

Another cracking dog who I have seen from the ring side and pleased to see him walk into the class. I liked his head and expression, clean reach of neck into a decent front assembly, good depth of forechest, ribs well sprung. Topline correct. Well-made quarters, with stifles well bent. Moved out well with a good ground covering action, just not as tidy as the winner in the final run off which cost him the top spot. Please to award him Reserve CC.

3rd Place Sh Ch Orchidstar Bolts of Speed (Mrs Z M Sielski)

Special Beginners Dog Entries: 1 Absentees: 0

1st Place Waldburg Vonzach (Mrs N & Mr L Spencer & Husband)

Substantial dog, for my tastes would have liked a little less of him. Good overall shape, neck clean, good front, and rear angulation. Decent depth of chest on him and ribs well sprung and back, good angulation behind. Moved with a steady gait.

Veteran Entries: 1 Absentees: 0

1st Place Sh Ch Bryburn Bacchus JW ShCM ShCEx (Mr B B & Mrs F V Thurm)

Smart dog with a lot to like about him. Super outline on the stack, totally balanced and in proportion. He has a pleasing head, clean cut with a soft intelligent masculine expression, just those few grey hairs giving away his age. Clean neck in to well set shoulders, stands on good legs and tight feet. Depth to chest and ribs well sprung, just a little soft in topline. Quarters are well made with stifles well bent, good from hock to heel. Moved out well with plenty of drive and accuracy of foot fall, close up in the challenge but not as tidy in rear movement. Thank you for bringing him Best Veteran.

1st Place Keigame Hearts Desire of Sparkenhoe (ai) (Mrs L Angus)

What a smart lady she is, so well together for her young age. She has a super outline and balance. I really liked her head and expression, clean cut head with a kind eye. Neck into shoulders is excellent leading into a super front assembly with the correct lay of shoulder. Standing on straight legs and correctly placed elbows. Good depth of chest for her age, firm back, and well-set tail. Quarters are well made, stifles well bent. Once she settled on the move, she had a good action and covered the ground well. One I like a lot and if she continues growing in this vein, she should have a bright future ahead of her. Best Puppy

Junior Bitch Entries: 5 Absentees: 0

1st Place Orchidstar Missing Link JW (Mrs Z M Sielski)

Soundly made bitch, she has good construction with balanced angles front and rear. Head is proportionate, good front assembly on her, she stands on well boned legs and good feet. Body in proportion with ribs well sprung, a tad longer in loin. Quarters well made with a good bend of stifle. Moved out well with accurate footfall to take this place in a competitive class and later Best Junior ahead of a super young dog.

2nd Place Jomeel Olivia’s Choice (Ms C Staley)

Liked the balance on this girl. Her head was pleasing, and she had a feminine expression. Clean neck into a well-made front assembly. Body had good overall proportions, ribs well sprung and firm loin. Quarters well made, stifles well bent and well-muscled. Moved out well. Unlucky to meet the winner today.

1st Place Jomeel Olivia’s Choice (Ms C Staley)

2nd Place Winterwell Little Itch (Miss K Bunker)

This lady was placed third in junior, but in this class she has settled and was much more together. I liked her overall shape and make up. Head of good shape and she has a feminine expression. Her neck is clean, shoulder lay back is OK. Stands on well boned legs and neat feet. Body of good proportions and quarters well developed. Moved out well with plenty of drive. Coat was harsh.

3rd Place Topfield Magic Sunrise (Miss P G Caddy)

Post Graduate Bitch Entries: 6 Absentees: 1

1st Place Quintana Lunar Eclipse (Mr & Mrs P M Nixon)

Clean outline on this girl, head of good shape and proportions. Good neck into well set shoulders, would like little more return of upper arm. Stands on good legs and neat feet. Ribs well sprung, Quarters well made, with a good bend of stifle. Moved out well with drive to take the class

2nd Place Quintana Qing Ping (Mrs M Nixon)

Loved this one stood, I thought she presented a super shape on the stack and on the initial walk round I thought she would be the winner. I like her headpiece, she has good proportions, a kind eye and a feminine expression. Neck good, well-made front assembly, shoulder well laid back and good return. Stands on well boned legs. Well made in body, ribs well spring. Quarters are well developed with well bent stifles. Just didn’t get going on the move and a bit untidy, which was a shame.

3rd Place Graygees Tsarine (Mrs S A Edlin)

Limit Bitch Entries: 10 Absentees: 2

1st Place Barleyarch Shindig with Kavacanne (Mr A P Rose)

Last judged this girl as a junior and liked her then, now she has really come on, and definitely coming to her best. She presents a super shape on the stack, clean in outline, beautiful neck into shoulders which are well set with good angulation. Elbows are well back; she stands on straight legs and neat compact feet. Body of good overall proportions, correct depth to chest and ribs well back. Super quarters which are correctly angulated. He crowning glory is her movement, super side gait, she just flowed, best mover in the entry. She excelled in the challenge to win Bitch CC. I understand her second CC, good luck with the third.

2nd Place Fayemm Treacle Tart with Winterwell JW (ai) (Mrs L S Trow)

One I have judged a couple of times as a youngster and a very smart bitch who presented a balanced picture on the stack with correct angles front and rear, standing over plenty of ground which gives her the correct shape. Head is well proportioned and has a pleasing expression. Clean reach of neck into a super front, shoulders well placed and a good return of upper arm. Stands on good straight legs. Correct depth of chest, ribs well sprung, short back. Hindquarters well-muscled with well bent stifles. Super shape, not as fluid on the move as the winner today, so stood second. Pleased to hear she has recently won her title, well deserved.

3rd Place Ankerwycke Silk Stockings (Mrs L, Mr I & Mr F Elliott)

Open Bitch Entries: 6 Absentees: 1

1st Place Sh Ch Dappledele First Date at Bryburn (Mr B B & Mrs F V Thurm)

Very smart bitch presented a balanced picture on the stack with correct angles front and rear, standing over plenty of ground which gives her the correct shape. Head is well proportioned and has a pleasing expression. Clean reach of neck into a super front, shoulders well placed and a good return of upper arm. Stands on good straight legs. Correct depth of chest, ribs well sprung, a tad longer in loin. Hindquarters well-muscled with well bent stifles. Moved with drive and a good action to take the class challenge and lifted her game to take Reserve Bitch CC.

2nd Place Sh Ch Taftazini Honour Wynna JW (Mrs J Squire)

Another good one from this clever breeder, I loved her overall make and shape. She is very pretty in head and has a lovely expression. Muscular neck in to well set shoulders, she stands on good straight legs and neat feet, good depth of forechest, ribs well sprung and loin wide. Quarters well made; stifles well bent. Super on the move, with a smooth gait covering the ground with ease. Very close up to winning the class but wasn’t quite as tidy as the winner in front movement today,

3rd Place Sh Ch Barleyarch Skye at Longbarrow ShCM (Mr M & Mr
