My thanks for the exhibitors for entering under me and to my stewards for keeping me on the straight and narrow, on this my first-time awarding CCs in Clumber Spaniels. I had some super dogs to go over and I had to make some tough decisions, I suspect they will change places over the coming year. I was pleased to hear the class winners greeted with applause. I thought there was a lovely atmosphere around the ring. My Bitch CC and Best of Breed was awarded to Vanitonia Secret Episode who I thought just looked stunning today. For my Dog CC, I selected Sh Ch Tweedsmuir Just Cruzin Among Suelynda. My Res Dog CC was awarded to Thorogood, Mrs L J Anbrook Don't Stop Me Now at Harrifield and my Res Bitch CC Maursett Masikean. For Best Puppy I chose the very exciting Bebecova Scarlet Witch.

A super, well filled, class with some lovely exhibits in it, a real pleasure to judge.

I liked this 8-month-old boy for type and shape. His head is well proportioned with a good eye, ears well set. Shoulders well placed, stands on good well boned legs and round feet. Well made in body, needs to firm up in topline which he will do with age. For his age he has good quarters with well bent stifles. Needs to find his feet on the move and stop playing the fool but the good bits displayed a good action.

Another smart youngster, who I am sure will swap places with the winner many times going forward.
He presented a well-balanced outline, not quite the head of the winner but this will come as he matures. Strong neck in to well set shoulders. Good through the body into well made quarters. Moved out well to take this spot in this competitive class.

An impressive dog in profile, only 17 months and presents a picture of strength. Large square head with a square muzzle and good stop. Strong through the neck in to well set shoulders. Stands on good well boned legs and round feet. Well made in body, he has depth to chest and his ribs are well sprung. Quarters are well made, would like a shade more bend of stifle, short from hock to heel. He moved out very well with reach and drive. Very close up in the challenge just preferred the heads of the principal winners.
2nd: 2215 GUY, Mrs Lynne Suelynda kith and kin among Jahanghir
Another smart young dog, today he was 14 months and giving away a lot in maturity to the winner today. He is well made with a good head piece, good breadth and a square mizzle. Good front assembly with shoulders well laid. Good depth of chest for this age and hold his shape well. Quarters developing well for his age. On the move he wasn’t as fluid as the winner today.

This boy presents a typical outline. Head is made well, good breadth, with deep stop and well-shaped ears. Super expression, enhanced by a kind eye. Good through the neck into well set shoulders. Stands on well boned legs and round feet. Well made in body, good depth of chest and ribs well sprung. Well made quarters, stifles well bent. Moved out very well with an even gait.

This 3-year-old boy is a pleasing type, he has a good head shape with a masculine expression. He is strong through the neck; I would like a shade more lay back of shoulder. Stands on well boned legs and round feet. He has depth to chest and enough spring of rib. Quarters well made with a good bend of stifle. Positive mover, not quite as fluid in the challenge today.
Class 718 OD (3 Entries) Abs: 1
Two super dogs, it was a pleasure to judge them both and the decision cold have gone either way.
1st: 2208 BODEN, Mrs & Mr S L & DK Sh Ch Tweedsmuir Just Cruzin Among Suelynda
A striking five-year-old dog who is full of type, balanced throughout. I liked his head piece, masculine, square muzzle and breadth in skull. Eyes good giving a masculine expression. Strong in neck in to correctly set shoulders, plenty of depth of chest and return of upper arm. Stands on well boned legs and round feet. Good length of body, ribs are well sprung and strong in loin. Held his shape well. Well made quarters, stifles well bent. Super on the move with good footfall. Coat in good condition. Delighted to be able to award him the Dog CC, congratulations.
2nd: 2229 THOROGOOD, Mrs L J ANBROOK DON'T STOP ME NOW AT HARRIFIELD
I thought this chap was really typy, he has the most super head piece with good shape and proportions. Good through the neck into well set shoulders. Well made front, stands on well boned legs and round feet. Enough depth of chest, body good, decent spring of rib and depth. His quarters are well developed with well best stifles and low hocks. He moved out well with plenty of drive. For me today he looked a little immature through the body against the winner who was the more finished article. No hesitation in awarding him the RCC and he could easily carry a title.

I thought this 7-monthld lady was very exciting, I loved her ‘look at me’ attitude. Super head piece for her age, with good well-set eyes and correctly placed ears. Strong through the neck into a super lay back of shoulder. Legs well boned and good feet. Body developing well for age, good length and held her shape throughout. Quarters well made with a decent bend of stifle. Moved out as if she owned the ring with a good action. Pleased to maker her my Best Puppy and later watch her awarded Puppy Group 4. If she carries on developing in this vein, I can see her having a bright future ahead of her.
2nd: 2224 TAYLOR, Mr & Mrs D N & H Maursett Madrigal
Another lovely puppy for type but she just wasn’t playing the game today, very rigid on the stack so not presenting herself to the best advantage. Liked her shape and make, head feminine with a kind expression, ears well set. Super in neck and shoulders, good return of forearm. Enough depth for her age. Ribs springing nicely. Well-made quarters and well-set tail. Once she gets her confidence, she should have a bright future ahead.

This little lady stood alone in the class and in the challenge did her absolute best to throw it all away, but she pulled it out of the bag at the last minute and I could see exactly how good she was. She has a super head piece, well-shaped with well set ears. Shoulders are well set, stands on well boned legs and round feet. Body of good proportions, ribs springing well and firm in loin. Quarters well made with stifles well bent. In outline she just flowed. In the challenge handlers were swapped and she just came together, and I was delighted to be able to award her the RCC. I think there will be many more to come.

1st: 2211 DAWSON, Mr RI & Mrs P & Miss M Big Boom's Viking Liv Beskerby Imp HRV (Imp)
I like this lady on the stack, still very young but mature and plenty of finish. She presented a pleasing outline. Her head is well defined, kind eyes and a good stop, feminine in expression. She has a strong neck, shoulders are well placed, and she stands on well boned legs. She has a good depth of chest, ribs are well sprung, and she is firm in loin. Back end well made with a good bend of stifle. Coat of good condition. Move out well to take the class but threw in the towel in the challenge or would have pushed hard for the RCC.
2nd: 2223 PICKERING, Mrs Jacqueline WYMESWOLD VERDEJO AT GREENCOURT (IMP NLD)
A lot to like about this lady but unfortunately, she was not playing ball today. She was in fabulous coat and condition. Her head had a good shape and overall definition. Shoulders well set, with a good return of upper arm. Standing on well boned legs. Body of good proportions, ribs well sprung. Well-made quarters with stifles well bent. Just fought her runner all the way on the move which was a shame.
Class 724 LB (2 Entries) Abs: 1
1st: 2210 CROCKER, Mr B A & FROST, MISS A & CAHILL, MR S & C VANITONIA SECRET EPISODE
Today young this lady was on form, although she stood alone in the class, she made sure she would be remembered with her determined attitude. She has a super shape and outline. Her head is square with a deep stop, lovely expressive eyes. Correct length of neck in to well set shoulders. She stands on straight well boned legs and large round feet. In body she has depth to her chest, her ribs are well sprung, and she has a firm loin. Her hindquarters are well developed with low hocks, she was presented in excellent coat and condition. True fore and aft, she moved out with drive, at times a little too much drive! Today was her day and I had no hesitation in awarding her the Bitch CC and BOB, her second. She is still young the best is yet to come in my opinion.
Class 725 OB (2 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: 2225 TAYLOR, Mr AJW & TAYLOR, Mrs M Sh Ch Maursett Marnie
I thought this lady had a super shape and make, her outline is clean, and she is well balanced. Classic head piece, well proportioned with a defined stop and breadth and ears well set. Neck strong, shoulders well set and a good return of forearm. Standing on well boned legs and large round feet. Correct depth of chest, well made in body with a good spring of rib, firm loin, and well-developed quarters. Stifles well bent and she has low hocks. Did enough on the move to take the class but would have liked a bit more enthusiasm. Close up for the RCC.
2nd: 2207 BODEN, Mrs & Mr S L & DK Suelynda Kreme Della Kreme
Another quality lady, two years old and full of type. Head piece is pleasing, well defined shape, strong through the neck into a well assembled front. Not quite as developed in forechest or in body as the winner, but that is just about maturity. Slightly long in loin. Excellent quarters, stifles well bent and low hocks. Held her shape well on the move, she had good drive and footfall. I just preferred the overall shape and proportions of the winner today.
