WELKS Championship Show 30 April 2023 – Cocker Spaniels

Thank you to the committee of WELKS for inviting me to judge at this well run, friendly show and to exhibitors for your entry. Thank you also to my two excellent stewards who kept everything running like clockwork so that we could judge right through without a break. The wet weather meant that we had a double ring inside which was also well carpeted, giving a great opportunity for all exhibits to show me what they were made of on the move, but also the space to expose those that didn’t quite have their A game today. Today it had to be ‘tails you win’, and character on the move was a deciding factor in quite a few classes. Overall I found more depth than when I last judged and was delighted with both my unbeaten line-ups.
