York Canine Association

I’d like to thank the committee for my appointment, their hard work and kind hospitality. Thank you also to my organised stewards and to the exhibitors who allowed me to go over some lovely examples of the breeds, with some close decisions and good sportsmanship.

BEARDED COLLIE

Puppy 2 (1)

1) Harcourt-Brown’s Orora’s Oriana. 10 month old bitch. My notes say wow. Dark slate, sweet feminine girl, strong head and muzzle, cheeky expression, with a beautiful dark eye. Such super overall balance as predicted by her construction. Well laid shoulder with correct angulation both front and rear. Deep chest and lovely length of rib with short loin and well let down hocks. She moved effortlessly around the ring with light and lengthy strides. This confident young lady did not put a paw wrong all day and I was thrilled to see her take Best Puppy in Show. BOB, BP, G1, PG1, BPIS

Yearling 5 (3)

1) Salter’s Irisaddition Love Actually. 15 month old slate bitch. Pretty young slate with a lovely expression. Good head, dentition, pigment into a slightly arched nice length of neck. Good depth of chest, long ribcage and short, strong loin and level topline into a well-muscled rear with low hocks. She moved out positively with drive and displayed a pleasing outline on the stand. Well-handled to get the most from her.

2) Jay’s Talraz Song Of Summer. 15 month old slate bitch. Nicely constructed throughout. Good head shape, correct bite, kind and alert expression. Good deep chest, well angulated front and back. Nice texture to coat and in good well-muscled condition. Honest, unexaggerated girl, who unfortunately was unsettled in this unusual venue which was not to her advantage today to show off her true potential.

Post Graduate 3 (1)

1) Jay’s Matamata Lorien Lady At Talraz. 21 month slate bitch. Broad and flat head, strongly made yet elegantly feminine with correct pigment, dentition and strong jaw to match. Good depth of chest, well-laid shoulder placement, good length of rib and short loin. Unexaggerated and in all the right proportions, nicely muscled with neat hocks. Covered the ground with long but light, far-reaching strides which gave her the class. RBOB

2) Salter’s Irisaddition Love Actually.
