LOTHIAN CANINE CLUB OPEN SHOW 10th Sept 2022

CHIHUAHUAS

Many thanks to the Officers and Committee for inviting me to judge the Smooth Coat Chihuahuas and the Long Coat Chihuahuas.

I had an extremely enjoyable day, made better because I was assisted by a very efficient steward, Carol Henry to whom I’m very thankful.

I was happy to be allowed to go over some very nice dogs. Thank you exhibitors for your entries.

Junior SC (1,1)

1 Russell’s CHIROUXE TWIST AND SHOUT. A very pretty black tri bitch of 9mths. Lovely head. Slight of build and quite nervous although generally correct. With maturity and experience should blossom into a lovely Chihuahua.

PG SC (2,1)

1 Kerr’s COPYMEAR CHARADE FROM RHINNS. Lovely, well-built cream 2 yo. bitch whose conformation created some lovely straight movement. Combined with a large round head, great pigment, eyes and a table top line this bitch threw a lovely outline.

2 SC Russell’s CHIROUXE . A very happy little 17mth old bitch. Pretty face and happy outgoing nature. A little under bodied for my taste, otherwise a bitch with potential.

OPEN SC (4,1)

1 Black’s CHINZAES SHE’S A RIPPER. Chocolate tri bitch of 4 years. Upright front paying attention to handler at all times. Level top line held well by great conformation, leading to very nice brisk movement. Well-deserved BOB.

2 Tyson’s STARCEYLON LOVE TO THE MOON. 2 yo. cream dog. A well-muscled, nicely developed, muscular male. Such a beautiful ‘apple’ head with great pigment. Very fetching large eyes. Good top line and covers the ground nicely. Either dog could have won this class.

JUNIOR LC (3,5)

1 Hunter’s JOTOLEMAR ELLIE’S TIME. Super happy fawn sable 13mth bitch who exudes total confidence. Very compact little dog which covers the ground well maintaining a lovely outline. Beautiful head and great top line. Beautiful eyes, super pretty.

2 Tyson’s STARCEYLON THE ICE QUEEN. Fawn sable. Almost a year old. What a lovely front this little girl has. Slightly long but is physically immature just now and will come into her own with a little more age. Lovely head, not much at all out of place.

PG LC (3,0)

1 Russell’s CHIROUXE MOONAGE DAYDREAM. 16 month old red bitch. A lovely eye, apple head and not to short in the muzzle. Correct coat for a Chihuahua, not too much. Very straight top line, held well on the move. Elevated movement and very straight when viewed from front and rear. Lovely tail held well. Generally happy, but seems under handled. BOB

2 Russell’s CHIROUXE ROCKET MAN. A 16 month old masculine version of his sibling that was awarded BOB. Some very fine features on this red and white boy. A beautiful head. Was much happier on the floor than on the table. Needs more training with handling, does have a happy nature.

OPEN LC (4,0)

1 Tyson’s STARCEYLON GOD OF THUNDER. Cream male 18mths. What a headpiece, big eyes and correct ears. Moved swiftly and straight and slightly elevated, covered the ground well. Great top line and tail. Looked a little out of coat, but it’s that time.

2 Hunter’s JOTOTLEMAR FABULOUS TIME. 2 yo fawn sable bitch. What a wiggly giggly girl this is. Can’t help but watch her. If only all Chihuahuas had this temperament. Great head and eye. Straight top line and lovely big ears and a lovely front. Correct coat. Beautifully trained.
